While I have taken all reasonable care to ensure that the links below lead to responsible web sites, the contents of the sites that these links lead to, are completely outside my control. You should also be aware that while they may have privacy policies of their own, I do not have any say or control in these policies, if indeed there are such policies in place. Caveat Emptor: Buyer Beware! By the way - when you place an order, or contact these firms with questions, please tell them where you found their information - I need all the help I can get! Miscellaneous and useful links...
- "SportsCover Direct specialises in insurance for active people. Our SportsGuard Sports Accident insurance for amateur sportsmen and women (valid worldwide but not Holiday Insurance) is the perfect way to insure against the possible accidents and incidents that can happen whilst taking part in Airsoft activities. Cover can also include loss of earnings cover and personal liability protection." Hint: Airsoft is a Group 2 sport!
- "Night Vision Gear UK - Europes leading supplier of night vision products."
I've had a good long e-mail chat with these guys, and looked over their website as well, prior to posting this link. While their goods are probably out of the rech, price-wise, of most Airsofters, if you have the budget for, and are looking for, reasonable and affordable Night-Vision equipment, then I think this may well be the first place to look. - The Sportsman's Association is an organisation that works to ensure that firearms legislation in the UK is both fair and effective. Not being a lobbying organisation per se, they invest firstly in members' insurance, and do damned wel. never the less, they can, and do, lobby on behalf of their members, and thus far, have been rather effective.
John, or FrontRank (link above) also mentions: "They also seek to defend shooting and other field sports against further unnecessary restriction by the authorities and to defend freedom of choice to pursue one's chosen sporting activity."
I'd therefore judge that they're a sound organisation to join, while we wait for the Airsoft hobby in the UK to gear itself up (if it can ever agree on the idea of a national Airsoft Organisation, of course).
Very Strongly Recommended. - Ever since the ban on real-steel handguns, through the knee-jerk Firearms Act 1998, Practical Pistol has had to find another form of hand-held gun to practice the sport: They now have a new sub-discipline: BBIPSC, using Airsoft handguns!
- Thinking of a career in the Army? OK, then look here first!
- Sports resources - directory of Sports related websites.
- Already in a civvy street job that you like, but want to do your part for the Country? How about the Territorial Army, then?
- Soldier Magazine is the Army's monthly magazine. It also publishes the annual pay scales, so that soldiers can see what they should be getting paid.
- Otherwise known as "Throat Slasher's Monthly", C&S is normally packed with useful tidbits, from all over the globe. Well worth subscribing to!
- Ambrose Machines is a computer retailer based in South London, which specialises in custom-made PCs. Run by a freind of mine; his prices are competitive, and reasonable (both at the same time - no mean feat!).
- Grisoft produce AVG Anti-Virus. There's even a free version (for personal use, of course), that can be updated regularly. I use it myself, and it's an excellent piece of protection for your computer, and I cannot recommend it highly enough to you. If you haven't any AV software, get this now. There's no excuse not to have effective anti-virus software, when it's free for the taking, is there, now?
- Zonelabs, amongst others, market a free version of their award-winning personal firewall soulution. It'll stop most, if not all, intrusion attempts on your computer while you're on-line, and warn you when these attempts happen. It also 'hides' your computer from the web (how, I don't know: I'm not a tech head: I just know it works rather well), thus sdding to the protection it affords you. Like AV software, possessing a firewall has never been easier, and, again like AV software, there's no excuse not to have a firewall in place. You wouln't buy a car without a firewall between the engine and the cabin, so why have a computer without a software firewall either? Go get it!
- This'll help get rid of spam you might be getting. It's free, so give it a look-see!
Linking to Practical Airsoft...
If you want to link to this site, you can do it in one of two ways:
You can add the following HTML code to your site, shown below. A quick note, before you do - PLEASE, leave the target in the code - other sites I've been linked to in the past, that used frames, sometimes omitted the '_blank' element, and the result was my site appearing in their frames. Damned disconcerting, at best, rude at worst - please ensure the code is copied EXACTLY! Thanks!
Or, you can use one of our banners (the preferred method, and shown below), with the following HTML:
This results in a link looking like the banner above (remember to download the banner image to your site!)...
Alternatively, you can use this banner, below (remember to download the banner image to your site!)...
