Magsz
Just wanted to confirm that the cylinder head and nozzle length are indeed version 2's? I calipered a version 2 cylinder and nozzle and they're slightly off from the dimensions of the stock parts. Im wondering if im going to have any trouble installing these parts. Any insight anyone can provide would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Pablo
I know the A&K cylinder head is if that's any help - should be the same, can anyone confirm this?
saint1078
CA M249 Cylinder head, nozzle and tappet plate is all M4/V2 equivalent parts.
ryn1523
I used an M4 Bore up kit in my A&K. Just a note though, The nozzle has to be shortened just a bit. I think about 1mm is about right. If you don't shorten it, your gun won't feed properly.
Magsz
I did measure both nozzles and it appeared as though the standard nozzle was a bit shorter than the replacement Modify brand V2 nozzle. Ive been experiencing random double/triple feeds, think the extra nozzle length has something to do with that?
ryn1523
Yes, I had the same problem. Another thing to look for is, the alignment of the feedport on the hop with the feed tube entering from the mag. Mine was slightly out of whack. I just carefully beveled it with an x-acto knife and polished it. Now it runs great!
Magsz
You beveled the feed port on the hopup unit or the magazine side? Also, which nozzle did you end up using?
ryn1523
On the hop up unit. I know it's already beveled, but it wasn't enough. I used a Modify M4 bore-Up kit. I just sanded down the feed nozzle to the right length.
Plymouth Roadrunner
A bit off-topic, but what size motor does the CA/A&K 249 use? I assume its a long, but I haven't looked at my GB yet, and im thinking about upgrading to a high speed motor.
