Only changes knows so far is a increase of max voltage from 12.8V to 14.8V, a new form for the AB version (19x9x4mm old estimated 30x9x4and a extra mosfet added to the SSR. Lastly the AB appears to be ready wired (previous boards you had to solder your own wires to the board and it was not fun).It will be interesting to see what they do next. I doubt they will be able to shrink it any more and their larger fets have been upgraded to be able to cope with microswitch triggers. I guess it only leaves the ASCU/Chimera/Raptor style. RSM Posted August 26, 2014 Report Share Posted August 26, 2014 More choice is always good...interesting choice of incline connectors for power though, would have though 3mm bullet connectors would have been better unless the aim is to be incredibly plug and play with existing wiring looms? If they could offer it with a choice of soldered and solder yourself that would be awesome, but I'm guessing shrinking the available area for soldering is part of the process of making it smaller, below a certain size would make it very difficult for anyone with a normal size soldering iron :-( Link to post Share on other sites

swatti Posted August 28, 2014 Report Share Posted August 28, 2014 Minus the fuse I'd say mine is quite close but somewhat different shape. Mine has worked so far in several 249s and couple of ACRs. Those sold outside were stress-tested with a four cell lipo. Slight temperature, steady, can't say "heat" I would recommend to swap microswitches to a ones from diesel boat engines. They tend to shake due to the longer stroke, thus the switch is protected against it. Also an option is to insert even smaller switch within the regular one forcing the connection with much smaller trigger pull. Link to post Share on other sites

I've googled for "diesel boat engine microswitch" but all the ones I've found seem identical or not shaped like normal microswitches. Link to post Share on other sites

Mercedes Benz uses same switches in some models as the dashboard switches. Any "old school" merc repair-shop will instantly know what you mean if you give em a sample.
