blam360
aren't AK and SVD mounts different? how does it fit both?
renegadecow
An SVD mount is different. An AK aka universal mount will fit both as it is adjustable. Also if this is anything like the ACM PSO-1: do not want.

Skarclaw
Honestly russian optics are cheap enough not so expensive. $200 for a belarussian PK-AS - about the same as a quality acog replica and about half the price and then some of a real eo-tech. All depends on the quality although airsoft optics, in my experience and I'm sure others are unreliable. *glances at 3x eotech replicas and 1x acog replica*
renegadecow
And only $240 for a brand new PK-01 which I'm still saving up for. Maybe if they made a decent Kobra instead because real ones are still within EOTech prices and the only replica around isn't worth having no matter how cheap.
Isamu
I agree, russian optics are quite affordable. I have a PK-01v and love it to bits, tough as nails and I can use aaa batteries, the only thing I dont like is I need some dremmel time on "western rail mounts" if I want to use them instead the supplied one. PureSilver
If Russian optics are so accessible and affordable, why is it so hard for me to find an NPZ PSO-1 or PSO-1M2 anywhere?

When you say they are not that expensive, you forget to add: compared to american optics. But if an optic is more expensive than my rifle, it's a bit expensive. For airsoft purposes. For the PK-A and PK-01 there's Ebay. Cheaper than Kalinka too. Yeah, and I asked for a PK-AS for 200$. The shop you linked to (which I already knew of) has PK-A (not S) starting at 229$. If they had the PK-AS it would most likely go for 300$, if you look at the prices of their other red dots.
renegadecow
Ah, wait, Kalinka has a US address so I assume they also ship from the US therefore ITAR up your bum. But the Ebay sales are from Russia or Belarus so those are ok. edit: Well, you can't get a replica PK-AS for $200 anyway so what's the point? Plus I never said you can get a real one for that low either.

So close, and yet so far. The PSO-1M2-1 is particularly galling as it's so close to the correct PSO-1M2, and (being a relatively recent sight) should be in good working order. The problem is that it's calibrated for 9x39mm subsonic (VSS, VAL etc.) rather than 7.62x54mmR, which would be immaterial to an airsofter if it hadn't involved using a different reticule, which since it's the bit I'll be staring at non-stop is a bit of a disappointment. The same issue plagues the German PSO-1; without the stadia and chevrons, is it really a PSO-1? Nitpicky, I know, but it's either right, or it isn't. in addition to RC ebay and red-alliance forums - ymmv. The usual suspects. eBay's turned up occasional, and quite badly worn, PSO-1s. RedAlliance's usual source of PSO-1s is a user based in Ukraine, where the deteriorating local situation means they need PSO-1s rather more than they need my €300...

Yeah itar is a *badgeress* - in this instance most of them come from Belarus though. Mate used to have a 20mm kobra - paid under £100 for it IIRC. Very cool bit of kit. This was a few years ago now though, times change. I'm not trying to knock this replica - the more choice the better! edit: If anybody fancies a group order to make up $2000 worth of stuff.. http://www.posp.ru/posp.html posp and pk-as for errrrbody
