ardrummer292
We all know that airsoft M249 bipods are made of cheese. If you manage to source a real-deal M249 bipod, you can easily attach it to your replica following these very simple steps. Step 1: Remove the stock bipod and mounting bracket assembly from the foreend. Step 2: Remove the stock bipod assembly from the mounting bracket by loosening the grub screw shown here. Step 3: Oh no! The inner diameter of the real bipod is far too large to securely mount on the airsoft mounting bracket! Panic, etc. Step 4: Stop panicking. Buy some vinyl tubing, 1 inch inner diameter and 1.25 inch outer diameter. Step 5: Cut off a small piece, about an inch long. Step 6: Stick the vinyl tubing into the real bipod. It should snap in when fully seated. File the tubing until it's flush with the edge of the bipod's mounting ring. Step 7: Install the real bipod with spacer on your mounting bracket. It will be a pretty tight fit, but will not rattle whatsoever. Reinstall all parts in reverse order. Step 8: The real bipod has locking tabs in a lower position than the airsoft version. Therefore, the real bipod will not lock into your foregrip (in the stowed position) without modification. If you like, file the bipod locking notch in your metal handguard bracket so it's a bit longer than stock. You need only file about 3/4-1 inch towards the back end of the rifle. The width of the notch is fine as-is. Step 9: Go beat the p*ss out of your Minimi. Now it can actually take the abuse.

ardrummer292
I know the pictures are sparse, but I assure you that the installation process is quite straightforward once you have the parts.
