Not seen this anywhere else on here so thought i'd post this link.

Seems Cybergun is releasing a series of 4 Colt Rail Guns, One is Desert Tan Marines format and three others.  The Stainless one particularly looks nice.  Know we all know Cybergun just re brand other guns so I assume ( I hope i'm wrong ) that this is a rebranded Army 1911.

Yup could be right, it has the wrong profile on the groove of the rail, so not an accurete M45A1 like the Army one.  The Stainless one is nice though, add Pachmeyers or even Medallion Grips n it'd be well cool.  For the Marines pistol though I'll be going with the Army ( Sounds daft Marines pistol by Army, lol )          one unless I can find a WA.

Once again "good creates them and them join themselves" for me, KWC is a nice plastic springer maker, C... is a french skum from the worst kind, perfect couple to release gas guns, for sure affordable, reliable and accurate, will they have the Mr colt silhouette at least to try to justify the cost??? (sarcasm, all sarcasm)

A gun with a rail is not a "rail gun", the engineer in me is very disappointed.

To be honest Colt actually call it that so for once this is not just poor translation but Colt being idiotic with their names.

As for me, meh to be honest. KWC new guns are fine for a price but CO2 has never been my favourite. Also at over 328fps average it means they won't see indoor site use which means I might as well stick to my TMs.

All in all nice to see new models but limited for me and having seen the odd bad KWC even in the new guns, pass. Sure someone will buy it though.

Just because you don't like the company doesn't mean it's not useful information.

Like it or not the state of the play means we have to deal with 2 companies who hold the strings in terms of trademarks, trade dress and copyright for the bigger companies.

There are ways round their stranglehold but some of them aren't accessible to everyone. (Importing from China/japan traded unlicensed models) can't easily be done into the USA depending on the mood of the Border Control agent who checks the package (without damage to the trades anyway)

Can result in criminal charges for some (importing items using terms held as trademarks by CG into France) so anything with 'Hop -Up' on the box could result in jail time and 50000€ fines.

The other way is to do what Umarex and Echo1 has done in several cases. 'No that's not an mp5 because another company has the rights to market the mp5 and that would be wrong for us to do this is a replica of the Germans Sports Guns .22lr gun the gsg5'

'That's not a glock that's a timberwolf with Lane Wolf Engineering trades look'

Like it or lump it the IP licencing thing is here to stay and if you want a certain model your option is to wait and wait and wait or pick up the licensed model.

Plus every licensed gun sold helps people make the case to other companies that they should license their IP out (and not on like the clear mossberg single shot pumps or the 'Marines' pdw aeg thing..)

Colt at least are willing to lend their IP to anyone with the green (probably something to do with the fact they've gone bankrupt again) if only some other companies would do so.....

  • 3 weeks later...

Dog damnit I sooo want that stainless model!

Held a standard KWC 1911 at a local airsoft shop last week and I regret selling the one I had. Definately getting one ASAP :D

Anyone got an idea on release dates?

EDIT: Googled the product codes and appears they are just hitting retailers right now, mid November. Problem is they are listed at $170 EUR ($182 USD). That's a bit steep for a KWC 1911 which normally retails for $90 - $110 USD. I dunno. I guess markings/licensing and finishing costs a bit, but the gun isn't _that_ good in itself.

Weight is 976grams, pretty hefty. I recall the one I had having a very nice weight, feel and balance to it.

That really makes these a questionable buy for me. Mweh, I was looking forward to just YOLOing it and putting one in a cart and be done with it :|

F U Cybergun!

Then again... CO2 stainless 1911, slightly undersized which makes it feel great, out of the box sexy, fun to shoot, good feel, awesome blowback and kick... And this;

I really can't justify the money and work that goes into building something that looks like this on another platform, and that doesn't really take CO2 out of the box. You could go KJW 1911 base but their CO2 1911 mags look *suitcase*. TM platform is gas only and with a metal kit and parts it's expensive and *suitcase* and won't shoot well with a tiny 1911 gas magazine...

I'm so torn right now! :o

HALP!

EDIT2: Mweh, will store this in the back of my mind for now, wait for the release to spread globally, keep track on it and see if any good deals pop up.

What about taking a normal kwc 1911 and strip the paint then polish it.

I'd still take a kjw 1911 over any other brand if I had to have co2.

Well that doesn't make me want the Stainless version less :(

Damn you DJ!!!

The thing with the KWC 1911 is, I have seen a few people use it as their side arm in games, and it's pretty awesome for that. FUUUU I NEED THIS NAUW! :P

When I had mine I got like 80 full power shots on a CO2 capsule out of it, if not 120, can't remember really. :|

RWA has this version at $145 USD too, pretty cool :D

This is driving me insane! Who would of thought I could get so worked up over a KWC pistol. But honestly, I've had the KWC 1911 three times already, and regret selling each one of them, so whatever I get now, is a keeper :D
