kagami
screw you Dytac, Angry Gun actually DELIVERS the goods. was announced a bit ago but Airsoft Global has them on preorder now. Looks like they're rolling out. 88 dollars is a bit ballin' though but worth it to me. Blacks on preorder (tans found on front page as well): http://www.airsoftglobal.com/shop/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=32_98&products_id=21935 http://www.airsoftglobal.com/shop/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=32_98&products_id=21937
kojak
About time! I really hope the "short" means the 556RC and not the SOCOM mini. I'll post pics for sure when mine shows up.
Cire_
Nice. Price a bit high, but hopefully we can see it drop in the future.
wazzy1013
I wonder if the suppressor part will fit on other brands 4 prong flashhider And did a test to check shipping, to get both the short and long suppressir sent to the US is $40 , that is insane even from Asia to US
kagami
some other retailers are stocking them now like asiaairsoft if you prefer free shipping
kojak
They (asiairsoft) don't actually have it in stock yet, despite not mentioning that in the product description. Shootercbgear and JKArmy also have it as a preorder.
pforcerecon
Anyone else notice how airsoft global has is labeled as the 7.62 while the others have it as 556? Or did I misread something?
wazzy1013
the short is 556 and longer is 7.62 (based on rs looks/version), but I could be wrong as not looking at it atm
hitmanNo2
Yeah. There are two versions.
kojak
These are shipping out now; actual product photos are on Ehobby Asia.
kojak
Got my 556-RC today. First impressions: It's heavier than I anticipated; with a solid insert and no readily apparent means of disassembly. The anodizing on the base might be a little light but overall the finish is pretty good.
emp3ror86
Is the locking mechanism good?
kojak
Is the locking mechanism good? Yes, it uses the same ratcheting mechanism as the original, and it locks onto the FH quite firmly. The "teeth" are still visible between the can and base when it's fully tightened though, and I think it's supposed to be a little closer to flush.
emp3ror86
Sounds good, thanks.
kagami
dang yea, it would be really nice if you could disassemble it to possibly cerakote or paint the base part. kojak do you think it's possible to do so?
Norotor
Kojak, do BBs pass through without hitting the suppressor?
kojak
dang yea, it would be really nice if you could disassemble it to possibly cerakote or paint the base part. kojak do you think it's possible to do so? Sure; I didn't readily see how it comes apart but removing the 2mm hex screw that holds the release button in place allows you to unscrew the base all the way: The body appeared seamless, but a sharp counterclockwise twist of the front bevel reveled that it isn't: Most of the weight is in the rear threaded and toothed section that fits around the FH, which seems to be steel. What I thought was a solid portion at the front of the suppressor is a POM spacer and clear tube held in place by a spring. The main body of the can is machined aluminum, with approx. 4mm wall thickness: There were some metal shavings around the threads and teeth that made the ratcheting action quite rough, I cleaned it up before reassembly and it's smoother. I left off the spacer, clear tube and spring since they don't seem to serve any purpose. Here's how the guts go together: The spring fits around the FH and holds the plastic parts against the cap. Kojak, do BBs pass through without hitting the suppressor? The inner BB path looks quite wide, but I haven't fired it yet.
kagami
great disassembly with pics!
wazzy1013
how'd you compare build quality to that of say, magpul pts aac's ?
Katotaka
Molested one of those, see thru the path and I'm confused, they call that a suppressor but plastic tube with no foam? I guess one can drill holes on that tube and put foam over it. BTW the build quality is impressive, I like it.
