Winguns next revolver? Schofield No.3 BB gun.

So heres something that I noticed today. It seems that Wingun has released a new revolver. And in their tradition of moving steadily backwards in time, It is a Schofield N0. 3. Granted, they are younger then the Colt SAA that they came out with a few months ago, but they are only a few years apart.

It is quite obviously a wingun despite it not being said on any of the links. The slightly sparkly grey paint that they use on everything is a dead giveaway as are the shells.

So far, only the 4.5mm airgun version seems available, though a 6mm version is sure to follow. Especially since the gun takes the same shells as their Webley, and the only real complaint in the reviews is that the manual is for an airsoft gun.

Now, as miffed as I am over the fact that Wingun seems to be skipping over any notable WW1-WW2 American revolvers, namely the M1917, its still interesting to see them make a replica of something that is much less well known then its contemporaries of the time. (The Schofield N0. 3 was a commercial failure with only about 9,000 ever made). Also please, Wingun, make an M1917 or model 10 or something.

Of course, as it uses the Webley's shells, even if a 6mm version is never released, it would likely take all of about an hour to modify it to have a 6mm barrel, As the airgun and airsoft webley shells are identical in exterior dimensions, which is why Im posting this in the first place.

I guess its a really good time for Airsoft if you're into Cowboy loadouts. Of course, if the pattern holds, their next model might be a Colt Navy or something even more obscure like a St. Etienne 1873 or such. who knows at this point.

Whats wrong with wingun? Aside from the sometimes unusably high fps I've never heard anything overly bad about any of them. Maybe the single action on the Nagant wearing out if you use it all the time.

Other than that they're usually pretty sturdy chunks of pot metal.

Also yes they make the Umarex Colts. You can buy then unbranded now too.

I suppose it depends which model you're looking at. The first "Dan Wessons" were downright atrocious, not even a proper replica and them copy pasting the design across several other models and brands just made me hate them all the more. But they do seem to have improved as they went along with the Nagant, Webley, and especially the new Dan Wesson, though the alloy they use for the hand and cylinder star still gets cheesed out easily enough to cause slop in the action. Then they go completely backwards with the SAA: horrible clamshell design I mean, REALLY, they had at least two other models to copy, one of which (Marushin) was also sort of a clamshell but done right so seams are cleverly concealed, screws all over the damn place like a 99 cent springer, an oversized grip because they wanted CO2 so much, and a glaring safety switch because you definitely need a safety switch on a SINGLE ACTION REVOLVER. Now there's this No.3 and the safety next to the hammer got me triggered.

Al these years i'm dreaming of a well designed steel or at least Aluminium revolver with decent steel internals. Wingun was closest by, really. By closest i mean they still missed the ball by miles but hey, not much choice otherwise. Sloppy trigger, screws indeed, no hop, so-so barrel, not consistent in power nor grouping, flimsy grip. Talking about dan wesson, old models.

Oh, I know BigAl ^^.

Now I have to complain I'd like a 4" version. ;)

Yeah, I'm picky.

I'm sloooowly trying to build a survivalist/postapo loadout.

Metro-ish, a beat-up black 4" combat revolver would be nice.

Thus I'd like it to be steel, you can blue that. and a worn wooden grip <3

One can dream, but I'll try the 715 for sure!

The moment it's on sale for example.

You can always try the "worn and scratched stainless look" by using stainless steel wool pad (it would end up looking like Ricks stainless Python in "Walking Dead". For the grips, apply small streaks of black and dark brown enamel paint and then use the steel wool pad to lightly work the colors into the plastic. It would give the look of sweat and oil getting into the "wood".

so with you on all this, hopefully they do a distressed version or a proper blued version...maybe they learned something from the Dan Wesson quality upgrade and the (probable) increase in sales. Love the Schofield, never expected an airsoft replica of this...granted it's not here yet.

I just wish wingun or anyone really would make a "Normal" metal revolver. Like just a standard old model 10/15.

Ive wanted one for so long that at this point, if no one is ever going to make one, I'm nearly good enough at machining to just make one myself using HFC internals. I've just gotta figure out the best way to round off edges.
