Horsem4n
So, i was poking my fingers around evike and i ran into this rifle up for pre order. its available for pre order at some other shops too and appears to have been put up around the 18th. i didn't see a thread, so I'd like to talk about it. http://www.evike.com/products/67808/ by listed magazine capacity, and the way the bottom of the magazine looks, it appears to be a copy of the G&G. I don't remember why, but i told myself if i were to buy a Garand, it would be an ICS, so i'm not ecstatic about it being a G&G copy. but really, that's to be seen. (maybe it was the higher capacity, cheaper mags? i don't know) other than the absolute garbage wood finish, what do you guys think? at $300, its a bit expensive, but it is a lot of non plywood wood. A&K official site: http://akairsoft.com/news_detail.php?n_id=12 nickel plated one being hucked around by a model: japanese shop ~250USD. inerestingly, has a pic of the magazine removed and doesnt look like the G&G or ICS mag. http://gmt-web.com/shopdetail/000000029137/ looks like we got ourselves a non clone boys. Rakuten has it too and both rakuten and gun mall quote 35 round mags and a 45000yen MSRP (which they both undersell by a lot) and that also converts to 433USD with would be a really ridiculous price for the rifle in my eyes. thank god evike isnt even selling it for that much. the round count on the japanese websites is interesting because A&Ks official website quotes the mag capacity at 22. oh woe is me for some consistency! Gunmane
I spent more time trying to figure out if all those labels on here were actual stickers or fake water tattoos than looking at the rifle. Kinda feel like this missed the ww2 spike period we had, but if it's a new system that works, you might see folks buying into it to replace/supplement whatever they have already. Isamu
Looks like A&K is trying hard to make some "new" stuffo utside of their main AR line, which i think its good and would like to see how it competes with the other Garands and Vectors (when released), not only on price but in quality
Dimitri MdP
Let's cut to the chase: does it ping?
Wingmann
WTF happened to the grip portion of the stock?
Horsem4n
Let's cut to the chase: does it ping? Rig up an Arduino and program it to make a speaker ping every 8 rounds.
Gigueand
It looks like they tried to use an M14 stock.
harborne blue
That just looks wrong to me...
Dimitri MdP
Well, I still believe the only thing that would get me out of "Russian" airsoft would be a pinging Garand. Man, that's music to my ears.

tquilha
I have the Marushin one (same as KA's). My stock is imitation wood, but the majjor problem is the CO2 mag. It's way too thick. It they made a GG version with properly sized mags, I would be all over it. They way it is, it's basically skirmishable, but you need quite a lot of mags and they are not cheap... Gunnman
God, that stock! I'm coming to the conclusion that china knows airsoft is a racket, so why not exploit it? After all, we'll buy anything.
paranoiddroid
U want a Lee Enfieldthat isn't wrong like the s&s or *suitcase* like the IA and an aeg m1 carbine so it doesn't have the issues of the others that exist (the marushin - fragile, the KA - so much is wrong with it) I want an m2
dog green 1
Available now in the UK. Fake wood furniture though. Not sure if there will be a real wood version.
Horsem4n
It's that expensive with a plastic stock?
dog green 1
It's that expensive with a plastic stock? It does seem rather pricey for a poly bodied AEG. If they did release a wood version that would put them up there with G&G or ICS. Can't help thinking they missed a trick and should have released an M1 carbine AEG.
chas
Real wood It seems. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Jbsoj_KP7zo

harborne blue
Why on earth didn't they just clone the existing ICS Garand? It's rock solid, not a PITA to work on and at least they would have made some money on cheap mags and parts. Why buy this when there are better guns already on the market? DarkLite
I suspect they may have started working on this a looooong time ago and based it off the M14 clones hanging around. Probably began prototyping before the ICS and G&G M1s were out.
NeoVeNoM
What kind of gearbox is in there? A v7 much like the initial G&G M14? or more like the one A&K have in their Dragunov?
