blobface
You read that right, the hop up rubber brand is somehow developing a GBBR M249... Video test fire below, I can't find any info on what Stanag mag that's using, looks like WE? https://www.facebook.com/guava.willian/videos/1385510011461525/
kagami
Definitely a WE magazine.
DarkLite
WE M4 nozzle too. IIRC someone in Taiwan or Japan made a homebrew GBB M249 which took WE M4 magazines.
Dimitri MdP
wait... what???? That really was unexpected, yet certainly welcome. It seems much more realistic than Daytona systems, as this one fires from open bolt and feeds from GBB style mag. Unexpectedly, seems to be a true GBB (as in "gas in mag" GBB), not external HPA, yet I think it will be no time until they release some sort of drum for it. Really nice project, without any doubt. From what I've seen in their facebok page it seems they still have some issue with the nozzle failing to retract and such, but they are in the right road

tquilha
YES!! Now, let's get the box mag working...
TheFull9
I almost feel they should've done the box mag first, that's the keystone to this gun.
hitmanNo2
I have it on good authority the following conversion took place at A+ Studio HQ. A+ Studio guy A: Hey. Help me design a box mag for our new M429 GBBR. A+ Studio guy B: A box mag? I don't know man. Sounds hard. He's a WE STANAG. A+ Studio guy A: OK. Well, have a think about the box mag. We can do it later. A+ Studio guy B: Sure...
Dimitri MdP
If they make the system with GBB mags working decently, a box mag is easy as pie. Just use a 4.5oz CO2 bottle in the mag and hide the gas macroline and the bbs feeding tube below the ammo belt, plug it to an adapter sorta like the magazine's top, and you're done. bankz5152
You could easily fit an 88g co2 cylinder inside the shell of a 249 box mag, probably even two. Have it 'mid-cap' maybe 500 rounds or so. Or they could be extra awesome and create a giant GIM box mag with many multiple gas expansion chambers that can accept liquid charged Co2 or propane. Now that would be fantastic. Now considering its WE spec, no ones said you could also fit the potential 249 box mag onto WE STANAG platforms!! Thatd be sweet and insane. I was considering picking up a KSG in the new year but I may hold out for this! I ran with an A&K 249 for quite a while and that worked pretty well. On my phone, my spelling will suck
jal3
*Customer comes into store* "Hey i bought this GBB M249 that runs HPA drum mag and it's not working, i've barely used it." "Oh how many shots through it would you say?" "Only a few mags here and there per round" "So about 175000 rounds in 4 months?" "Yeah, as i said, practically haven't used it!!" Can you see it happen already... Still though, would love to have this. Had a customer like A few mags per round 8 times a day twice a week, in 6 months or something...we calculated it to about 25000 rounds through his KWA MP9. Then he was alright with paying for new parts lol.
