Jin15
You might remember that a while back Madbull started a rather large controversy with the announcement that they would be releasing "training shells" for real steel shotguns that were gas powered and fired airsoft BBs at a rather high velocity. While it seems that Madbull stills plans to go through with this idea, they did make a recent (and much more sane IMHO) announcement that they would be releasing a selection of shells made just for airsoft shotguns! Behold... If you check out Madbull's website here (click me) you'll see they are advertising these shells for use in Tanaka, Airsoft Surgeon, and G&P airsoft shotguns. The first two sound quite reasonable, but hold on one second here! Since when did G&P ever make a shotgun that took shells? Perhaps Madbull knows about some impending G&P release that I do not
Crimson
It could be G&P took a tanaka and modified the *suitcase* out of it like they did with the maruzen series
tehnoobslayer
what kind of airsoft shotgun is going to put out 10.8mm bb's?
Pablo
...or "buckshot"?
greg
It does say Co2 doesn't it? Greg.
tehnoobslayer
there really must be a new type of shotgun coming out or something.... for some reason even though they say for Tanaka, g&p and whatnot, I feel like 10.8 mm bb's and buckshot wont work with the current models out now? I'm very intrigued.
SniperSidd
anyone have any idea on pricing? as a shotgun ###### this could be kinda fun
shmook
FINALLY! now my 10.8mm airsoft shotgun project can come to fruition. it has been mothballed for years, waiting for someone to develop the correct ammo... MAdbull has SEEN INTO MY MIND!!!!11111111!!!!!!!! *laughs in evil manner*
Jin15
All good points! I can see the Airsoft Surgeon modified Tanaka shotguns being able to fire the "buckshot" shells and the 10.8mm BB ones (Madbull must be making a new proprietary 10.8mm BB I'm guessing) but those are the only uses I can think of for those two shells. What I'm most intrigued by is still the section about the shells working in G&P shotguns. Totally bizarre since up to now the only shotguns G&P has made has been spring powered magazine fed ones based on the Maruzen CA870 system. I think I'm going to be sending Madbull an email about this!
TDS
You dont have to modify tanaka shotguns to fire different ammo, you just need to remove the inner barrel and barrel trunion problem with standard tanaka shells is that they blow off the front end if they aren't pressed against that inner barrel trunion. Inkblot
Interesting concept, I wonder on the price...
aznriptide859
Wouldn't catching the shells after firing them be a PITA? Otherwise they look pretty cool
grimreefer
I had heard about those Madbull airsoft shotgun shells for real-steel. Has to be one of the most idiotic and irresponsible product ideas I've ever heard. Talk about disaster waiting to happen! The CO2 shells for airsoft guns sounds like a great idea, though! AnakChan
I wonder how different these are to Clarence Lai's/Airsoft Surgeons....(copyright ;-))?
ED-SKaR
what was the "slug shot" shell for the tanaka? (airsoft sergon??) Could the slug be 10.8mm? and use the same ammo in that shell?
Rapier
The 10.8mm ammo is the rubber balls they sell for their new showershell. Not sure on the slugs, probably special rubber rounds just like the solid shot for the 40mm shells or the clarence lai slugs
pforcerecon
Now this I like!!
Money Bags
What does it mean by buckshot? Surely and airsoft buckshot is just a shell with a few bbs in to represent the bits of metal in a RS buckshot shell. Like the one on the madbull ad says theres a 6mm shell that holds 6 bbs, so what does a buckshot do?
pedrosalas7
i think that with 10.8mm they mean the 0.43 caliber paintballs. i have to disagree with the idea about shells for real steel shotguns being idiotic. think of as simunitions from an airsoft manufacturer, used for LE/military training
Windibob
This might be the excuse I need to get an airsoft shotgun
BigBabyMoses06
I would like to see the 1st project completed. That was a great idea for training purposes.
brooklyn
id like to see how the buckshot shell works out is i just going to be a diff body on the shell? or is it going to fire somthing smaller than 6mm,which wouldent make that much sence. iam guessing maybe $60-$120 USD for a pack, all in all these things look pretty darn COOL
SuperJohn
If 'buckshot' actually works like a shotgun shell - ie sorta like a mini moscart - then this could be awesome.
Forze
10.8mm is indeed the clarence lai rubber shell
Rapier
Ok, finaly figured out how to copy/past on my G1.
