Systema Switch Relay in FTK for PSG-1

How come the wiring changes from the origonal? Why exactly are there two routes from the battery connecting to the motor wire and the selector plate? Also what does the switch relay circuit do? I'm getting this FTk along with my PSG-1 Friday, this is why I ask.

As shown in the original wiring diagram: points A and C are separated contacts along the negative line. Connecting these points (via the trigger switch - not shown) completes the circuit which sends electrical power to the motor. The thing is, every time the trigger contacts come together, a spark occurs. Over time, the heat of the spark will literally burn the metal contact - particularly the "live" tab, the one connected to the battery source - similar to the following picture.

The re-wire diagram shows the negative line going thru the MOSFET relay. Points A and C are now re-wired along the positive line and when connected (via the trigger switch) sends low current power to, and activates, the relay.. which in turn turns on the high current power to the motor. Because the trigger contacts now handle only low current, spark damage is avoided.
