Newsflash: New toy gun!

Entry No. 1 Tokyo Marui

H&K G36C

A a new sensation on the game field the short carabine version of the newest H&K assault rifle G36 - G36C has been realistically modeled!

After more than 10 years of producing airsoft-guns of all ages and countries, an entirely new version has been introduced. This is the newest H&K G36 short version (G36C). They modeled the G36C, which already in its real steel has been drawing quite some attention all over the world. We have chosen to present to you the first details we achieved at the Makuhari Messe (Trade show in Tokyo) oct. 17th-20th, where Tokyo Marui presented the gun.

Because we couldn't get hold of details on the inside of the gun, let's take a closer look at the outside. What you'll notice first, is the see-thru magazine, similar to the real steel. For Tokyo Marui, it's not the first time to be creating this kind of magazine. The SG550 and AUG for example had similar magazines, where you clearly could see the BB's inside. As for the P90 from last year, realistically looking dummy cartridges were modeled inside the magazine. The G36C's magazine also comprises, no matter if you look at it from left or right, dummy cartridges (even with floor spring) and you can't see the BB's at all, rendering it extremely realistic. The capacity is 50 BB's. As with the SG550, you can join the magazines with small clip-on gizmos.

You can attach the Marui silencer and full auto tracers to the G36C. On the lower part of the hand guard you'll find a rail as on the real gun. Furthermore on the picture, you'll see the optional side rails installed on each side. On the top of the reciever there's a scope mount base, for example for night vision in the front and possible dot sight on the back. As on the real gun, you'll find a cocking handle that can be operated by left-handed and right-handed alike. It's probable that you'll find the hop-up setting under the long ejection port.

The gun has safe, semi-auto and full auto. The stock can be folded like on the real steel and a rubber butt-plate is attached.

We will get back to the more detailed stuff in our next review, but let's relay what we learned at the trade show. Firstly the receiver is internally comprised of a metal frame. The rigidness of the body really shows this. As for the mecha-box, we have no information, but it is generally rumored to be a version 3 or 6. Whatever it is, it's a highly reliable mecha-box, so you can expect it to shoot well. The motor is a - from M16A2, M4A1 and P90 - well proven EG1000(S). It's expected to be - conventionally - installed in the handle. The battery will be the 8.4V SD type (the mini battery, as in the MP5SD6). Of course you'll find an adjustable hop-up in the G36C.

Picture Comments:

1. Standard is the "slit-type" flash hider. You can attach the silencer and tracer from Marui.
2. Standard mount rail on the hand guard, where you can attach a handle or what you'd like. The gizmos below are sling attachments.
3. The battery is in the hand guard. SD type.
4. On the front of the mount base, an MP5/G3 style sight is mounted.
5. The long mount base. It's possible to mount a night sight and dot sight in tandem. It also doubles as a carrying handle.
6. Rear sight was not a drum sight, but an M16 style "peep sight".
7. You can operate the cocking handle from both right and left.
8. Realistic magazines with dummy rounds. Capacity 50 rounds. At launch, a 470 round hi-cap will be available.
9. Fire selector. Safe, semi, full-auto.
10. Folding stock.
11. When stock is folded.
12. Disassembled. (clear plastic)
