In July we started to upload reviews of wide range of kit which we thought would be of interest to the airsoft community. The first two were of footwear…
And now, in the words of John Cleese, for something completely different.

Today I’m pleased to announce that the third highlander product kindly offered by review from Gordon of Highlander: the Forces 2 Geo-Dome Tent. As anyone who attended Arniegeddon ‘06 can attest, this is quite a novel-looking tent.
‘Who’s Highlander?’ you may ask. Well, the chances are that if you’ve been to your local camping store, you may have seen quite a lot of their kit without realising it.
Highlander are a manufacturer / wholesaler who supply a considerable number of the UK’s camping and hiking stores, and who are now keen to support the airsofting community as well - something I’m sure every airsofter will more than welcome.
This is the first of several reviews you can expect to see coming of Highlander camping, skirmishing and hiking equipment over the next month or so, so remember to keep tuned.
The review of the tent can be found here.
Paul of Airsoft Military Simulations) has been in touch to let us know of the latest event to be run by their promising new Mil-Sim company at Bramley Army Training Estate:
Operation Hunters Moon
28/29th October 2006.
Location: Bramley Army Training Estate.
Duration: 24 hours of Milsim.
MI5 have been trailing several suspects thought to be involved in international terrorism over the last few months. Their investigations have led them to a remote disused military base. Here they have found a terrorist organisation that is training new recruits in the art of guerrilla warfare and improvised explosives. MI5 are certain that this group is training these men and women for a terror campaign here in the UK.
Your unit of highly trained soldiers have been selected to move in and eliminate the threat to our national security.
The area for our exclusive use is roughly 170 acres of land, consisting of dense woodland, marshes, rivers, open flats, buildings, aircraft hangers, inclusive of underground bunkers! All you could ever want in one area, I think you’ll agree.
Throughout the day, you’ll be undertaking interlocking missions that encourages all forms of game play and problem solving involving intel sourcing missions with agents .
We will also employ the use of three tactical vehicles (one 4×4 flat bed technical with gun emplacement on the rear and two genuine British Army Landrovers).
During the game we’ll be using many different varieties of pyrotechnics and other props to make your day enjoyable (we obviously aren’t going to give the game away with too much intel, do you expect a full briefing before going to war??).
This event is booking only and is £50 per person for the full 24 hours.
Individuals and teams are welcome.
You will be operating in small units for the duration. Ammo limits apply as follows, Rifleman = 1 bag ammo (4000 rds), Support gunner = 2 bags ammo (8000 rds) and snipers are unlimited. Pistols, moss carts and grenades are unlimited as long as they are pre loaded. (Support weapons are just that, proper support weapons like M249 Minimi’s or M60’s. Also sniper rifles are not AEG’s with a scope fitted (Except PSG1 rifles)).
350 FPS MAXIMUM for all weapons. NO exceptions.
Over 18s only unfortunately. Helmets are required at Bramley.
Thanks, Paul (Site Operator, Airsoft Military Simulations)
Sounds really promising so don’t hesitate to support this new event by booking now! Expect to see a sub-forum on Arnies where you can contact the Airsoft Mil Sim crew in the near future!

The next few months on Arnies sees a series of reviews by the Arnies Staff of new products that may be of interest to the airsofting community.
Reflecting this interest, Gordon has kindly offered up a wide variety of samples that reflects the huge range of goods they supply, ranging from boots through to tents, bivvy bags and even gas stoves, so I’m fairly sure that there should be something amongst the range of materials which you’ll all find interesting to read up on.
This is the second set of boots sent to us by Gordon, the budget ATF Sigma Boots.

Prometheus has been in touch to ask that I posted a quick update for all you American members regarding the latest situation with Arniegeddon USA:
Sorry for the delay on new information, I know some of you have been PMing me relentlessly asking for info, and now here it is for all the world to see. After the fallout with the other field, we have decided to move the game to a new location. I must say this does work out better in my mind because we can truely make this an Arnies event without restrictions.
We will be playing at Bad Karma Airsoft near Nashville, Tennessee. This is a big change from where the last field was, I know. However, this turns out to be a better deal.
ArnieGeddon USA
Location: Bad Karma Airsoft, Nashville, Tennessee
Date: November 10th-12th
Price: $30 (Pre-register)
Rules will be the normal Bad Karma rules and we will NOT deviate from them. We will be using their waiver. You must sign a waiver to be allowed to play in the game. You may print one out from their site.
www.badkarmaairsoft.net
Three meals will be provided from the registration fee. All other meals will be bought by players. Players should bring their own water or other drink of choice; however, sports drinks will be vended on-site to those who wish to buy them. Prometheus
With the event back in full swing, its down to all of our US members to make sure the event goes ahead. For more information and the latest news, visit the AGUSA Sub-Forum

Hello, I hope everyone is staying cool. It’s towards the later part of the summer when temperatures start to slightly dip off. For us the weather has started to become a little more bearable. The last 3 weeks we have triple digits every day. This week has slightly cooled down and we’re now very comfortably in the high 80’s or up to the mid 90’s.
