AirsoftSearch v1.2.3 is now here! AirsoftSearch also now has a nice installer to install the program too! v1.2.3 Changelog:

  • Retailer Action Hobbys added
  • Retailer Airsoft Supplier removed due to complications
  • tweaks made to coding

Download available here: http://hootsoftware.com/AirsoftSearch.zip 1.23mb (wierd huh?)

While this version doesn’t fix the “Run-time error -2147467259 (80004005)” error, I am still working on the issue and I may have (for real this time) found the problem. So, if you had that error with AirsoftSearch v1.2.1 and above, please contact me if you are willing to test out different versions on the program. visionviper, (site forums)

CQB Scotland 2 Lanark

Jamie has sent in word of the opening game of a new venue near Lanark called CQB Scotland 2 Lanark. The site looks pretty impressive too! The details for the event follow, and they now have their own section in the forums here.

Welcome To CQB Scotland 2 Lanark:

CQB Scotland 2 Lanark,

CQB Scotland

Based in the heart of rural Lanarkshire is Winston Barracks, once home to the Cameronians (Scottish Rifles) and boasting over 60 buildings some of which are massive and connected via extensive road systems. This is the newest addition to CQB Scotland.

After being met at the Guardhouse you’ll proceed to the muster area for briefing and then it’s on to the fun. Anyone familiar with CQB Scotland will know that ex and current members of the armed forces will be there to give advice on tactics or even zero your susat for you using the dedicated rifle range. The fighting will be fast and furious as an agenda will be set for the days gaming, but as ever your input can alter the day immensely. The site is huge and incredibly varied.

Check out the gallery

Getting there couldn’t be simpler as it is accessed easily from both the M8 and the M7.

Game dates & Pricing for CQB Scotland 2

First game:

Sunday 10 September, 9:00 for 9:30 start. Gun hire will be on a first come first served basis so please post quickly what you will need on the day in the CQB forum. Lunch will not be provided so please remember and bring your own. The game will be based around the village for most of the day with assaults on the Generals quarters (3 large buildings looking onto a few acres of field and woodland) playing time willing. Remember that this is the first game so let your imaginations run riot and tell us about it on the day or in the forum.

Weekender Saturday 30 September & Sunday 1st October.
Again, most of the above applies but with more variety of emplacements and games employed. There is masses of room to pitch a tent and assuming your not scared of a few spiders, a good many of the buildings are quite habitable, hell, you may even get a visit from Assault Team Delta at 2 in the morning if you’re unlucky ;-) We will need to know numbers well in advance guys so please post in the forum.

As for pricing, we’ll keep it as competitive as usual so walk on is £20 for the single day and gun hire £15, which looking at other sites around the UK is cracking value for being able to fight in a midsized town!

The site really has to be seen to be believed and I hope you will all join me at the opening. Jamie, (CQB Scotland 2 Lanark)

PFI Grenade video from ArmedForces

Okay another one for the ever increasing YouTube video collection here. I’ve not linked directly to their own video otherwise their bandwidth would go through the roof. The video covers a new gas simulation grenade from PFI, retailed by Armed Forces:

Hi.

We just want to let everyone know our new product – PFI Toy Grenade, our company have a promotional film which everyone can view this product how fun it is.

Due to the video file size, I just copy the link to you

All the latest from AirSplat

Click here to visit AirSplatKent Wu from Airsplat.com has mailed over their latest news. Included with it are two free manuals to help guide you with the V2 and V3 Airsoft AEG mechbox:

Hello,

I hope you had a great labor day weekend, sadly summer is officially over. For us here in LA, it’s actually quite welcoming due to the, still warmer than usual weather. We’re looking forward to more moderate temperatures.

I would like to specifically point out 2 of the many things we have going on here.

First, we have an exclusive on 20 of the Airsoft Press Upgrade Manuals (http://www.airsplat.com/Categories/AC-AP.htm), they are each over 100 pages with in-depth illustrations and walkthroughs. This is very exciting because, we as an airsoft community finally can have all our airsoft questions answered in one place from a dependable source. To date, this is the most comprehensive and in depth manual for airsoft guns. In fact, we are giving away 2 preview copies for the airsoft community to read and use as they please:

AEG V2 MechBox Upgrade (http://www.airsplat.com/AirsoftPressV2MechBox.pdf)
AEG V3 MechBox Upgrade (http://www.airsplat.com/AirsoftPressV3MechBox.pdf)

They are free to download and review, at no cost. If you’re thirsty for more, please visit http://www.airsplat.com/Categories/AC-AP.htm for the full line of manuals.

Secondly, for all of those who are in Southern California, we now have Airsoft Playground tickets available. Normally at $20, we are offering for $15. Ten or more only $12 a ticket. Get them while you can, it’s a great deal for a great venue.

Other updates include a new HFC CO2 M9, CA AK Grenade Launcher, UTG AK Para , 2 new AK spring rifles (here, and here).

Thank you again and have a great week. Kent Wu, (AirSplat)

The One that Got Away: IED Escape & Evasion 24Hour Game!

We’ve had a request from Ubar on the forums to provide details of an event going on at the IED site in the near future. For those not familiar IED is a true mil-sim site, which runs weekend patrol games with so much land at their disposal in North Wales that it’s almost unfair. This event is something different though:

We are running an Escape & Evasion exercise over 7/8th October at our North Wales site.

This will last 24 hours with an approximate start time of 1200hrs Saturday.

You will have minimal kit as one of those being hunted. You must bring all your own kit as once eliminated you will join the hunter force. The rest of your kit will be safely cached at a harbour area.

As one of those being hunted you will be allowed to carry;

10 matches.
2 black plastic bin bags.
Half a British 24hr rat pack.
1 Pistol with one mag. No reloads.
Basha
3ltr water (H & S will require this otherwise it would be puritabs & a puddle!!)
Any other kit will be advised via an update edit to this post.

Kit can only be carried in 1 utility pouch. If it doesn’t fit then improvise. :)

Other than clothing, if it isn’t on this list it isn’t allowed.

You will be in teams of 2 & will be hunted by a force comprising serving & ex Brit/NATO forces. You will be carrying information containing grid refs of cached food/water/weapons/ammunition at different locations around the site. These grid refs will be time dependent. Each 2 man team will have a time window for each location. The hunter force will have no idea of the caches, only by catching you will they be able to find the grid refs.

We have 700+ acres of woodland & open areas secured from the surrounding hills. You will have to make your way to these grid refs avoiding the hunter force who will be using vehicles as well as highly experienced sniper teams to track you. Once captured they have discretion to extract information from you. How they do that is up to them!!

Hunter force.
You will be fully equipped as a normal op & operate from a secured harbour area. You will have access to vehicles including mil land rovers as well as a nice warm doss bag, maybe a tent, warm scoff & hot brews aplenty.

Please indicate interest here & tell us whether you would like to be a hunter or hunted. If one of the unfortunates being hunted please understand you will potentially be out all night without a sleeping bag or tent. There is very little likelihood of hot food.

Cost will be £25.

This 24 hour event will include the oppurtunity to learn some useful navigation & survival skills, something we offer through the parent company as proper courses.
Echo66 (Event Organiser, IED)

It goes without saying that this isn’t an event for the light-hearted, so please don’t go along expecting a four-star b&b with maid service. For more enquiries visit the relevant thread over on ASCUK or PM Ubar directly here (he’s been nagging me to put this up, so it’s only fair he handles the inevitable queries… wink
