Mechbox.com is conducting our first round of polling to determine what type of part you want us to cover in our first-ever Gear Guide. Our Mechbox.com Gear Guides will be a completely objective look at the best manufacturers and models of parts in each category. Two winners will be determined, one in best performance (only performance metrics considered) and one in best value (performance metrics as well as price considered.)

Since Facebook polls won’t allow us enough options to vote for each individual part yet, we are holding the first round of voting to determine which type of part you want us to cover first, and then we will hold a second poll to narrow down the field within that category. We will eventually produce Gear Guides for most types of products, and revisit them from time to time as new models are introduced, and as manufacturers change their designs based on what was learned during the production of the Gear Guide. The major categories at this time are:
Air Seal
Piston heads, cylinders, cylinder heads, air nozzles, hop-up packings, and inner barrels.
Electrical
Trigger units, MOSFETs, wiring, and plug types (e.g. Deans vs. Tamiya vs. other types.)
Gear Train
Spring guides, springs, piston bodies, tappet plates, gears, bushings, and motors.
Structural
Mechbox shells and hop-up chambers.

The criteria that we use during the Gear Guide will depend on the type of part we are covering. We will have an open suggestion period for criteria once the type of part is selected.

Get the ultimate sniper experience with ASW338LM (ProLine spring operated airsoft sniper.)

Designed from original 3D drawings, provide by Ashbury International Group Inc, this fully licensed high-end airsoft rifle looks and handles just like the real thing. This precision airsoft gun features a monolithic full length top rail for scopes, as well as a carbon-fiber look for-end with bottom rail and side rails that are co-bore aligned for mounting bi-pods and other tactical equipment.

The ergonomic folding Push-button adjustable shoulder stock, is custom fitted to the user with adjustments for, length of stock, cheek-piece height, and vertical recoil pad placement. It comes with a versatile adjustable, field Mono-pod, and a mounted muzzle brake, with a large 28mm external thread for quick mounting of a designated silencer.

The magazine has a unique loading system which allows correct placement in the magazine well for added realism.

Delivered in hard-shell transport case with cut-out foam with additional room for bi-pod and silencer. A M90 spring is included in the case, if the rifle needs to be down-graded to comply with range rules. All in all the most advanced airsoft sniper rifle available.

After two months of narrowing down the nominees and then voting for the winner per category for the 2nd Airsoft Players’ Choice Awards, we finally announce the winners in each of the categories. We cannot really tell the exact reasons why they won, only that each of the winners is determined to be popular among Popular Airsoft readers who have voted.

A good number of the winners of the 1st Airsoft Players’ Choice Awards have maintained their awards for the 2nd time, and some changes in some categories happened, knocking out the previous winners. Some categories had some close voting and one category, the Best Airsoft Blog, was a lively one, with the finalists making their case on why Popular Airsoft readers should vote for them.

The Best Airsoft Blog category actually gave us an idea of allowing each finalist to submit a write-up or a video on why our readers should nominate or vote for them for the 3rd Airsoft Players’ Choice Awards. This will even the playing field for the next awards as we shall give the finalist a chance to campaign directly to our readers even for just 24 hours. It will be a first come first serve basis, and it will be an optional thing for the finalists if they want to take the opportunity to present themselves at the Popular Airsoft website.
