Blackhawk P90 Sling

Instructions: Blackhawk's P-90 sling is simple to install. Put the hook and loop strap through the rear stock sling attachment point on the P-90. Then put the Velcro end of strap through the metal loop at the other end of the strap. The strap has a nylon gap between the hook and loop portion of the strap. Now fold it over and attach the hook and loop part of the strap together until it ends right at the sling attachment loops on the strap. Now clip the sling clips onto the sling strap loops. Adjust sling for length and your sling is now complete.

Review: My first sling that I purchased for my P-90 was from FN. When I received it, I was really disappointed. Then I started to considered BlackHawk's Chalker Tac Sling ( Catalog # 70DC00 / 70DC01 ) which sells for $60USD and $80USD. After taking a close look at a Chalker sling, I determined that the Chalker sling wasn't very P-90 friendly or anything like the sling used on STARGATE SG-1, and was too expensive for my wallet. For quite sometime I thought I was going to be stuck with that shoddy FN sling. (thanks go out to StormLeader for the SG1 images)

Then I went to EAG's event DIVISION, where I saw BlackHawk's add for a P-90 Tactical Sling in the second issue of FPS magazine that I received for subscribing. I couldn't believe it, and I still couldn't believe it after I purchased the sling from Mike. The P-90 Tactical sling from BlackHawk ( Catalog #: 70GS06BK ) retails for just under $30USD. It's a real bargain and as always Blackhawk guarantees their products for life.

Obviously, the most attractive feature of this sling isn't just because it's made by BlackHawk, but because you can FINALLY sling your P-90 just like on the show, STARGATE SG-1.

Comments: As you can tell, setting up the sling is easy. It's just a hook and loop tape band that wraps through and then around the rear stock and has two attachment loops that the sling clips onto at both ends of the sling. However, I initially felt that adjusting the sling stra[ it's self was a little more time consuming than most slings that I have used. But once you've made adjustments to it a few times, it becomes quicker to adjust in a hurry.

When you purchase this sling you also might want to consider purchasing the Comfort Pad (Catalog #: 70SS02BK). Slinging your P-90 SG-1 style will become tiring without a comfort pad. After a while that P-90 will feel like it's a lead brick handing from your neck. Thankfully BlackHawk thought about this. The sling was made with plenty of slack material to allow you to carry your P-90 under your arm with the P-90 resting up against your kidney. I'm sure not disappointed and neither will you.

Airsoft Dynamics (AD) have been listening, which is always a good thing, and now have a nice new P90 sling coming soon, for more info check their news section. Now it should be noted that the AD version isn't 100% true to the ones found in the SG1 series.

BlackHawk also make a version of the aforementioned sling, but again it's not 100% accurate, but being made by BH it's very well designed but pricey. Another version of interest is the Chalker sling, it's made by a guy with plenty of experiance with real world scenarios. This version is similar, but again not quite the same as the one from the series. Having said that it looks very functional.

(Sunday, March 17, 2002 9:08 PM) SG1 P90 harness#2: Do you remember our post about SG1 P90 slings? Well just to keep everyone in the loop...

AirsoftDynamics sell their own version, BlackHawk also make a version of the aforementioned sling, but both of these are not 100% accurate. Another version of interest is the Chalker sling, it's made by a guy with plenty of experiance with real world scenarios. This version is similar, but again not quite the same as the one from the series. Having said that it looks very functional.

Well we have a 'new kid on the block' so to speak. Graeme Haddock has been in talks with with a tactical gear manufacturer for the past 2 months or so exchanging many e-mails, thoughts and pictures regarding the (now famous in the Airsoft world) Stargate FNP90 Tactical harness.

After many prototypes and 're-thinks' of the design, they have came up with what they term as an exact replica of the SG1 P90 Tac harness. It operates in exactly the same manner as the version used in the TV programme. Here's what Graeme had to say:

"Here is the copy of the e-mail I received from the company, detailing the products operation and price. I have also included the pictures of the finished version. I must point our that I'm not making any profit on the sale of these harnesses, I'm doing it for the benefit of the airsoft public.

If we can get more than 25 people interested, the slings will cost around £55 each, including p+p. They should be ready for purchase in around 3 weeks.

"Graeme, The harness design is sound...full adjustablity...front straps are 12 inches long with sliders.....side/rear straps have dual adjustments(as requested).. these straps are 36 inches long (each side)...this left plenty of additional material on me...(I am approx. 46 inch chest) The 5 point buckle appears to be identical to the one in your photo's I made 3 versions of the gun strap, photo's to follow.

Now with this all said and done...I can you offer the following pricing. I would prefer to send you just a single "Harness assembly" before going into full production. This has been a interesting project from the aspect of creating a item form a few incomplete photo's...being a shooter my self it is relatively easy to understand the final fit and function. BUT...I would prefer to have your final input.

  • 1 to 15 units $80.00 plus S&H
  • 16 to 25 units $70.00 plus S&H
  • 26 to 50 units $60.00 plus S&H - [This amount is what I'm hoping to achieve, at least]
  • 51 to 100 units $55.00 Plus S&H

In consideration of my time and materials I request that your initial order be for a minimum of 10 units....this will cover my prototyping and development time and materials."

If anybody would like to reserve a P90 Tactical harness, please send your details (Name, Address and Telephone number) to Graeme via email - ghwalsc4ever@haddock58.fsnet.co.uk (Graeme will get back to you as soon as they become available for purchase)
