KSC
P230 JP |

Everybody first reaction when they see my gun is: “Oh Cool the PPK.” but in actuality its a Sig P230 JP. When I first saw this gun it was on a Japanese web site that had all the KSC Sig Pistols next to each other. I had no Idea what It was called but I noticed that it was different than the normal P230 that KSC made.
After a little investigating I found out it was the “P230 JP” having no idea how to get it I emailed Guges at Olympus Airsoft (www.gh-u.com) and within a week or so he had one for me at a great price.
First Impressions Well when opened up the box my first thought was “wow, that really looks light.” But when I picked it up I was suprized to see not only did it have a good deal of heft to it, but it also felt natural to hold. So I had learnt that the gun is solid and the grip is amazing, I figured I’d drop the mag and check that out.
After a good 5 minutes the thing that was (running) out was my options. I had pulled every switch and pushed every button and it was still in there. Then I flipped the gun upside down and saw a lever, I pulled it a back and sure enough the mag could now be pulled out.
The Magazine: I wasn’t expecting a huge magazine but the one I pulled out was almost comical. It was long and skinny and held 12 rounds. I was fairly disappointed the gun only held 12 rounds but at $25 a mag I figured it wouldn’t really matter after I picked up a few of those.
The slide? The slide looks pretty shape even though it feels pretty plastic. Though some complain about it the lightweight slide allows the slide to blowback faster. Coupled with hardkick its pretty fast. So fast in fact that if you use HFC22 the hammer won’t catch every time; so 134a Is necessary. The trades on the slide say: “Sig Sauer Made in Germany P230” on one side and on the other “7.65mm B S 147 110”
Well I thought now it was the appropriate time to cock the P230. All I can say is that If the mag release wasn’t already confusing enough the slide release let me blinking my eyes and scratching my head for the better half of the week. I Pulled the slide back and it... stayed back. Pulled back farther and it still stayed. Then I took the mag out, pulled the slide back, and it released. Can’t argue with that I guess. I noticed a lever on the side of the gun.
I pulled it down and it released the hammer without firing the gun.
Conclusion I my option its worth every penny. Solid and compact Its a great little gun to hide in a unused vest pocket. The mag release could be a little more easy but that's not KSC’s fault. Sights are kind of fake looking. Go buy one you’ll be happy you did.
Conclusion
