ASH Bash DVD, M2019 Blaster, Halloween, Batman Vs the World..

"Coffee - do stupid things faster with more energy": Tell tale sign #35b that you've had far too much coffee is when your typing com esout smehtign lk e thsi, and your hands won't stop moving. I never though I'd utter the word, but perhaps I need to get some decaff in... no, no.. I must be strong. On the bright side, spell checkers come in handy at these moments.

The Airsoft bit:

The news about the biodegradable BBs was interesting to say the least. There have been several conversations about such things, but up until now there's never been any real scientific tests carried out. The latest news confirms that most people thought, in that it seems that actually BioVal BBs are the only truly biodegradable brand known of at this time. I've already had one email from someone involved with a MoD facility used by an unnamed Airsoft organisation, and they certainly don't sound happy about the situation. I don't think things were helped by the fact that the owners felt the game organisers left the place in a mess either.

Deckard Blaster? After seeing the news about the M2019 Blaster model kit at Monsters in Motion I got to speaking at Andrew at SteelHawkAirsoft.com who make the kit product for Monster's in Motion (always nice to chat to nice folks via email):

The goods news is that there's a working Airsoft version available from the guys at SteelHawkAirsoft.com. Depending on the popularity of this kit, some other gear of similar interest may well surface too; never a bad thing in my opinion as I'm just too much of a sucker for sci-fi Airsoft gear. When there's more shots of the kit and Airsoft version available I'll add them online. Airsoft Hawaii ASH BASH DVD: That's to the guys over at Airsoft Hawaii (ASH) I'm lucky enough to have a copy of their Birthday Bash DVD. It's really interesting to watch games taking place in another country, especially to see how the games differ in the way that they are played, the kind of players that attend and the gear that they bring.

Gotta give credit to Dave the clown for his outstanding appearance on the day. Who needs this silly digi-flage stuff anyway? Red and green is certainly in fashion. ^_^ Sadly my copy of the DVD failed after watching it for about 25 minutes, not quite sure why, but I'll try to watch the rest of the footage later on if I can get a DVD reader here to pickup the data on the disc.

The Non-Airsoft rambly bit:

I managed to rewatch 2000AD (available in the UK through the Hong Kong Legends brand) this week. 2000AD is highly memorable as it's the only film I've seen that actually features Airsoft (a KSC TMP, Glock17 and a Chrome WA Beretta are shown in an office skirmish). One character in the film hit with the 6mm BBs even gets treatment for the blood blister bruises he receives because of it. Not a huge plot or storyline to the film, but it's a fun action flick.

I'm not quite sure how I missed this piece of work, but trawling through some details about the original Aliens film, and then cross referencing some details I came across the film Batman: Dead End. There's no real storyline to this production, produced on a tiny budget by Hollywood standards (around 30,000USD) it's quite an impressive piece of independant filming. Why there are Aliens, Predator and Batman in the same footage.. well you'd have to be a DarkHorse comic fan to work that one out, and I'm well out of practise in that regard I'm afraid.

There are a few tell tale signs that it's not a production from the usual directors with massive budgets, but after the first few seconds of footage I really didn't care. Interesting to compare something like this to the likes of AVP that was out this year. It's a shame that mega budgets aren't put to better use really.

Because of the popularity of the Peperami adverts in the forums, and mainly due to the recent revival of them on UK TV (I seem to remember them being banned), I contacted the people responsible for marketing the product here. A rep very kindly took the time to get back to me and after chatting with me for a bit has been really nice and shared the Peperami adverts with me so that I can host them here (the two RealMedia ones are from somewhere else on the 'net but I've clean forgotten where). I should point out that the humour in these clips is really intended for adults, you have been warned. They are still darn funny though! The first video (to the left) was branded "Too Hot for TV" and thus has never been aired:

In other news apparently all our old mobiles are destroying the Earth. I'd dispute that, as all the phones I've ever owned are in a drawer of mine having been recently charged and cleaned as handy spares for the next time I drop my current phone down the toilet.
