Well, it's been a trying time. Work commitments have seen me taken away from the forums for a while, but I'm back, and I'm BAAAAD! (In the words of "Kryten" from "Red Dwarf" )
Anyway, in the last month I've had the unhappy duty of banning several scammers, spammers, idiots, and other people who wish to just cause our community harm. Why do they do it? At the moment, we have more than 20 thousand members from all over the world, yet 4 or 5 of them each month seem hell-bent on posting absolute rubbish in order to get attention/sympathy from members of our community.
I absolutely HATE having to ban or warn anyone here, but it has to be done sometimes to protect the community as a whole.
So where does this antisocial forum behaviour come from? Is it an electronic cry for help? Is it a subconscious desire for attention that the attention-'s parents never gave them?
I'm seriously interested in this phenomenon. I just can't understand the concept of someone behaving like a moron to gain attention (and therefor, much-needed affection).
Or am I missing something?
Anyway, more will follow soon, but it is 4:30am where I am and this is my first EVER blog.
Updates coming to a blog near you soon hehehe
