Man, it is busy actually giving a *beep* about something. For the last week straight I have spent so much of time either posting on the new forum, going back and forth with the rest of the staff, or flat out generating content. Man writing a review used to be a fun weekend gig, and now it has become like another few hours of labour at the end of a long day. Don't get me wrong, I like the testing and picture taking, but man the assembling and writing, takes it out of me. All in all, I have pr
I finally secured my latest project, actually I just had parts lying around that needed a gun to add to.
KSC Glock 19 Deep Blue
PDI 6.01mm Tight Bore
PGC Hi Flow Valve
KM Stainless Recoil Guide Rod & Recoil Spring
Very light tune. I actually have a BoomArms slide for it, but the thing is bothering me since the outer barrel legs don't fit the slide....incredibly annoying. I haven't the patience to work on it right now, so I am rocking the ABS slide for now. The Deep Blue
I haven't thought about what guns I actually own in awhile. Right now this is the list:
KSC/BoomArms Schuey Custom Glock 17 Straight Frame
KSC Sig SP2009 (finally got it shooting)

Marushin Deringer (6mm)
SIIS IMI Desert Eagle .50AE 10"
Tanaka Browning Hi Power MKIII
Tanaka Ruger Super Redhawk 9.5" HW .44 Magnum

SD Floating Valve
SD POM Loading Nozzle
The SD loading nozzle was purchased from UNCompany, but the loading nozzle has a Dentrinity part number on it....leads me to believe that I am partly correct and Dentrinity and Shooters Design are very close.
So I am going to rebuild the
So the WE tech project is well under way. Thanks to my buddy Allizard, I am now the proud owner of two WE 1911s. While I wish I was doing a Western Arms Magna Project and happened to come up on two of them, I am grateful for the help with the WEs.
Speaking of WE, half of phase 1 is done. WE 1911 3.8 Compact review is now done and available here.
I began writing it using a new flow of writing and formating and it went much more smoothly. Before I was working from a pre-built format,
Man I hate waiting for sales to complete. I also hate not having a bunch of extra cash, finances suck. Funny how people ask left and right for something, until you actually decide to sell it. I also hate when people make you jump to meet a price, be ready to ship on time, and then keep you hanging for a week and then back out. I could have sold my Constrictor a week ago, but I tried to be nice and waited for someone to come up with the cash only to have him back out at the last moment. Lame
The really good news for me is that my WA M4 finally showed up and I must say it is amazing. I love the sheit out of it. I know there has been a lot of talk about the weakness's with the internals, and I know it isn't a skirmish ready gun out of the box, but I never expected it to be so I am happy. The recoil action and sound are more than I imagined and put a smile on my face time and time again. Mine probably has less than 1K rounds through it, but other than the ejection port latch fallin

So a gain of about 30fps over 10 shots. Now I just need to have DB cut me a custom length one to fit a suppressor. Should break 400 (I h
Never blogged before, but it is nice to have a place to log the work I am doing on my own guns as well as some client projects.
Right now in the works is finishing my TM Hi Capa 6.0. I just need to finalize my hammer choice and it will be completed. Swapped to a 6.01mm PDI tight bore and saw a jump of 15 fps on average, with less variation between shots. I still believe the tighter the barrel, the better the power, accuracy and it really helps stabilizes fps fluctuations. I have also fo
So many moons ago I sold my last Glock and swore off of them forever. Well I swore off Tokyo Marui Glock 17s, but ended up selling all of my Glocks in the end. While I still prefer the 1911, and if I need something more "current" I can go for the Sig (well not the SP2009, lump o trash), but I thought (truthfully) that I needed to show that I do have experience building Glocks since I was only being asked to build 1911s. Now I rather build a 1911, but I didn't want to just be losing out on pos
Finished up a clients gun tonight. Den order showed up, a little for me and the last few parts to finish up the Evike 1911. I personally have never had a problem ordering from Evike, but man their technical services are bottom of the barrel right now. I can't imagine that they have looked at this gun three time now, and it still shot like sheit when it came to me. Be careful who you have work on your gun. If it had been my gun I would have raised hell. Now it shoots pretty good. Not as go
So I have continued to stipple pretty regularly. Tried my hand at a Glock grip, looks OK, but could be better.
KWA G26C Grip:
I also have a new client build in the process of arriving. Built from a Dual Tone Hi Capa 4.3, I am excited to see how it turns out. He is going to run an Airsoft Surgeon slide (which is very nice, high quality, and build) and full internals. Actually a very nice build in the end even though it was pitched as a "light" build. Lucky for him he could
Man it has been a very long time since I have written anything in this thing. While it seems like not much has happened I have been steadily toiling away at this thing we call airsoft and I have made some steps forward I do believe.
First up has to be the fact that I finally broke out of my laziness and broke out the Dremel Soddering Iron and actually tried my hand at some stippling. First try was a little shaky, but in the end I think it came out decently. It actually looks much better
So I have been spending the past few days hanging out at Pinnacle Airsoft and as much as I have been having fun, it has killed my will to do any work for myself when I get home. My buddy Paul, the Tech down at Pinnacle used to tell me how he never worked on his guns when he got home, had parts just waiting to be fit pretty much at all times. I always thought he was crazy, but now I get it. As much fun as I am having, getting to talk airsoft all day long, it really saps my will to get any work
People seem to always ask if upgrading a GBB is really worth the time and money. To me the answer is easy, but since so few people just getting into GBBs have had the opportunity to fire a well built gun, I thought I would throw up a review to give them a glimpse at what is possible. You can check it out [http://airsoft-barracks.com/forums/index.php?topic=1597.0]here[/url]. Not to show off, but just to show that it will be a different gun when you upgrade, and that some of the results are rea
So the short term future for new GBB projects is looking awfully bleak. I would be excited about the new Marushin Bren Ten GBB, but since it will have the hated LD2 hop up, the thing is guaranteed to not shoot straight. I whipped out my P210 to give it a try with .34s and the stupid thing still shoots like a shotgun. I need to tear it down and remove the second hop up nub. See how that works out.
Funny enough, the black hawk shoots rather straight and nice. Maybe it is the fps that thi
I also managed to do a quick tune up on my buddy Chance's guns. First up was a piston swap on a TM Sig P226 and a quick tune up of a Wilson Combat Professional. Both were fun, and work better than when I received them.
On top of that I managed to begin some new projects for myself:
5.1 and 4.3 are all works in process. Man I need to finish that 5.1 once and for all.
I know I mentioned a huge (in terms of parts, and quality of the parts) build for a client, another PGC TM 1911. It came out perfectly. I was impressed with both the KM and most especially the Nova parts that he chose to use. Just a quality standard A1 1911. Really my favorite type, and with good parts choices, my favorite to shoot as well. It really turned out amazingly well:
TM 1911
TM mags 5x
PGC colt version
PGC rear sight
PDI tightbore 6.01mm
PDI MIL-SPEC Hammer
PDI Pa
I have decided to cut down on my collection a little bit. Up for sale right now is my Tanaka Hi Power (add can be found here). Good gun, but I just never want to shoot it. Not enough excitement other than owning such a clean model. Custom gun with a one off tight bore.
I also finished the Limcat brothers for my clients. Both came together decently well, and I have finally figured out a few more tricks to make them cycle smoothly. It really took both of them for me to iron out
So I have been trying to pick up some side work, building GBBs for people I have met on the forums. It has been really exciting to be recognized for the work I have done on my own guns, as well as the way I comport myself on the forums, but now I am running into the problem of how and what to charge for work.
I keep getting asked to do work on budgets that don't allow the client to actually receive a gun I would be proud to deliver to them, and which allows me very little room for any prof
So I had to look at a a previous customers gun again since for some reason the fps had dropped pretty drastically. I couldn't figure out a reason why over the phone so I just had him send it back to me. Funny enough, I ran it on my chrono and it shot where I thought it should. Can't really figure out why his readings where 20fps lower than mine. I use a Guarder Speeder 2000, and he is using two separate F1 Chronos. I wonder if my chrono is off, but I can't figure out a way to figure it out.
It has been an interesting week to say the least. Happily I ended the night as a new member of a forum peopled by my old old cohorts who had been displaced by the great big nothing. Even more surprisingly I woke up to be offered a chance to really take part in the establishment of this new forum. It really came as a very big surprise to me since I wasn't really close with any of the new Admins over there. But I have been blessed with my own little corner of the web, which focuses on my pet o

So after a good day down at Pinnacle, I actually had the will to do some client work tonight.
Of late I have had two lines of questions, either Guarder Springfield 1911s and Non-Railed P226s. First up was a Creation bodied Non-Rail p226. Originally it was going to be number 2 with a PGC body, but like always they were really out of stock. Thankfully TMC was good enough to sell me this Creation body at the same price as the PGC. This was my first experience with Creation and I must say i
