Lets see, what I've been up to.....
1) Went skirmishing on Sunday. Took Hardcore's brother (Caboose on the forum) for his second skirmish and team evalutation, and also wanted to test out the woodland potential of my FWP rig.

I started my new job today - it's a five week T.I.E. tour as a Soundie/Road manager for Raenbow Productions.
To be honest, the job itself I could do in my sleep, and I seem to be impressing as I've replace their rather dilapidated sound kit with my own and the quality of the show has gone up as a result. As it stands, the job is not the subject of the blog.

Ok, so basically I nearly fed someone their P90 today.
I attended a Glasgow 'shindig' for fans of Serenity/Firefly and a bunch of people including myself went in costume.
One of the regular groups from the convention circuit is the 'Reaver Hunters' and a bunch of them showed up, carry various airsoft weapons, one of which is a tricked out p90. Whilst I'm talking to the owner, I notice that it's got a full hi-cap in it. I ask politely if I can have a fondle of the gun, and whilst doing
I spent a chunk of today figuring out exactly what I was packing/not packing for my ten day jaunt to London.
After much shifting around, I've managed to get everything I need into the necessary bags. The train and bus tickets are all booked, the people I'm staying with have all confirmed I'm cool to stay on their floor for however long it is. I love having freinds in the big smoke, it means I never have to worry about hotel fees.
The big question I'm pondering now, is do I have enough
I have just purchased a Maruzen M870 shotgun.

It is horribly impractical to skirmish with due to the fact that it ejects shells, and I will probably only carry it as my 'marshalls gun' for making test shots.
However.....it is possible the gun that has made me smile the most out of my entire collection.
Shotguns always make me go a bit giddy - even with the inherent disadvantages of them in a skirmish environment I still will run around using my SPAS
To fill in a little background, I have been buying up a bunch of guns recently - forsaking other forms of entertainment in order to purchase all the guns I want before the VCR death knell sounds.
Having got a stock SMG, an upgraded 'sniper' rifle, an assault rifle, a grenade launcher, and a whole ton of pistols (including a mac 11) I pretty much had everything I wanted. Barring winning the lottery and getting the 3P minigun, my collection was complete.

First update in a while. I'm back in the UK, and have been for the last month. All in all, Greece was *beep*. No airsoft. No Dr Pepper. No cute girlfriend. Boss was an ######. Night in greek jail, followed by voluntary exit from country after boss refused to organise work permit, preferring instead to hire another sucker. Blew most of my savings from the job returning.

Electrowerkz was fun, despite a minor incident where I got shot in the throat - wierd angle and it got past my neoprene, and my throat went into spasms. I couldn't breath in enough air through my neoprene mask to stop the spasms and ended up in a corner quietly hyperventilating until Janno
Ok, so the Spectrum maroons showed up.
They are a little different from what I'm used to, the casing made of a thin soft plastic instead of cardboard. This makes me a little concerned for the safety of any user/victim who might be within 'kill' distance so I set up my usual test.

After Action Report.
Arrived on site at 18:15. Fortunately the body armour that Hardcore bought me arrived this morning, so I was well protected. It WAS necessary.
Start bombing up. I am less than pleased when due to clumsiness I drop my m4, snapping the stock off. After a brief moment of sheer seething anger, I walk out for five minutes to calm down. I come back, and after using an entire roll of electrical tape I manage to bodge the gun into a semblance of working order.

To Dual Gun you must:
Abandon the natural Isometric firing stance.
Learn to fire without a supporting hand. (one handed firing)
Learn to quick index the front sights of not only 1 gun but now 2.
Relearn to effectively place shots.
Relearn how to coordinate your actions as now you have two weapons rather than 1.
Develop Coordination in the weak hand as to make sure the shots from that weapon isn't just fired to scare people.

Recently, I've been playing at Electrowekrz a lot. I'm sure most board members will be aware that at EW, which is the most intense CQB site in the country, there is a team called the Dark Angels.
The Dark Angels have a deserved reputation for being hardcore and very very good. They are at present not accepting auditions, you have to be 'recruited' by an existing member.

And I hate to say it.....but it ###### all over any previous vest I've worn from about thirty stories up.
