Faerie fun at Hallowe'en

The original plan was to go as Kasumi from Dead or Alive, but my costume wasn't ready in time so I wore this little creation:     I'll be editing this entry soon once I get the rest of the pictures, including a cyberman who looked really cool. I got a video of him dancing the robot but I don't know how to post it   Oh, and this was our pumpkin....

Update, for no real reason

There's not been an awful lot happening in the life of hardcore right now, apart from coming to the conclusion that I really like getting parcels in the mail. My Halloween costume came the other day (it rocks so hard! ) and my previous bout of impatience was for my PSG-1, which is waiting at the parcel depot. Picture update to come within the next few days.

Long time no posting

Afternoon all How are we?   You may have noticed a distinct lack of updating going on in this blog over the summer - unfortunately I have to blame this on a resit exam for my English Lit degree and the copious amounts of revision that came with it Sadly any spare time left over from that was given over to a frantic job hunt which has currently resulted in my current employment as a checkout wage slave. Joy.   Working isn't all bad though - I get better money than a lot of the other jobs I

Girls only? No wai!

Time to blow the dust off the old blog...   It's been brought to my attention that ASCUK has a girls only forum called 'The Bird's Nest', and that it might be an idea to bring it over here. Personally, I don't think this is a good idea.   There have been plenty of previous threads posted in general and newbie discussion asking such questions as "I'm female, wil camo/ tactical gear fit me?" or "I'm a girl, what gun should I get?" They've been answered time and again along the lines of: - T

My GM went to Silent Hill...

...and all I got was this screaming mutated baby.     Go see Silent Hill. I can't really write a review of it beyond...well...go see it. You'll like it. I think.

She's back, and she's got a new trick...

...magical Hardcore is ten times as slick as - erm, maybe not. I just realised I haven't been updating my blog for a good long while, so in the unlikely event that you've been worrying about me, here's a quick update.   1. I finished all my uni coursework. w00t. Exams soon. Poo.   2. Stuff is being built at Section 8 Airsoft. Cool stuff. Recent build days at the Shotts site means that we now have a bigger tree fort and a system of bunkers to play with since we can no longer use the farmhou

RPG update

****Warning: this entry is loooong****   I haven't been updating my blog for a week or so because to be frank I haven't been doing an awful lot of interest - I've gone out dancing for most nights of the past week and tried to do some coursewrk, and that's about it apart from an OK skirmish on sunday. Last night, however, I joined a new roleplaying game group, and I have to say it's some of the most fun roleplay I've done in a disturbingly long time. I had so much fun I almost needed to be sed

Movie time: V for Vendetta

Here it is, and much sooner than expected! My promised review of V for Vendetta. Ok, now where to begin...   The beginning, perhaps? ****Warning: may contain traces of spoilers****   I first read V for Vendetta in the later months of last summer; I had got into Alan Moore's work after I really enjoyed the movie adaptation of 'From Hell' (yeah, I know, it's shocking. Bite me.) Early reports of the film adaptation of V for Vendetta weren't looking good, so I wasn't too pleased when I r

....and relax.

Essays all done for now, three weeks off uni.... happy hardcore once more! Maybe now I've got some more time to myself I'll be able to update on a more regular basis, and maybe put something a bit more insightful than recent entries....   Very shortly I should be posting a review of V for Vendetta, as I've been waiting for this for a good few months now with some rather mixed feelings. Watch this space

Not something you see every day

I've never met anybody that's 100 years old before, at least I hadn't on monday. Yesterday, however, was my great grandmother's centenial 100 years old and still one of the most incredible women I know. And yes, she got her telegram from the queen

Solving problems

Now that the celebrations of good grades are over, I've come to a conclusion about one of my dilemas: I'm not going to continue archaeology. I'm going to finish this semesters course, and that's it. From then on I'll be doing single honours English literature.   I'm a little sad that I'm not taking the subject any further, but taking it further involves doing loads of fieldwork and I really don't wanna go there. However, I'm happy that I took it for these two years and managed to get a good

Good news!

I got a B for English literature!!!     It seems all my long hours of revision and most emo blog writing has paid off. I got the grade I needed, so now my entry into Honours is almost certain.   My archaeology problem remains unsolved, but I just need to wait until my adviser gets back to me and that'll get sorted either way. I'm sure I'll update and let you all know what happens, but for the meantime....     PAAAAAAAARRRRTTTAAAAYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!

Head a little better...

...which is nice. I've decided to make an appointment with my uni adviser for sometime in the coming week to get some advice regarding my course decisions, so apart from a little more thinking to do after the meeting my mind feels a lot clearer.   As regards the Dark Angels: nothing is decided yet, but I've had some PM and phone conversations with the senior members and some other team members so my thought process has been helped along by various advice and opinions.   I know I'm not be

My head hurts

I've not been having a good few days. Today I've been doing a lot of thinking about my courses at University, and evaluating what I'm going to opt to do next year. I'm not too happy about where I'm going at the moment with certain subjects, and the fact I'm seriously considering being rid of something that I was so thrilled to have the chance to be doing is a bit upsetting.   Also, today (or rather yesterday) I was offered a place in the Dark Angels.         How odd.

Ups and downs

I was having another look at this thread today, and noticed a lot of people putting fluctuating scores based on what had happened that day. So in a desperate attempt to find a way into updating my blog, I noticed I've had a bit of a fluctuating week.   I had a really good night out last Saturday, wearing my new skirt that ate into my Guns 'n Guys budget but was oh so worth it. Princess mode for the win!! Dancing in my corset probably wasn't the best idea, as I found out from Lex at EW that

all done

That's my exams all over and done with, and they went much better than I thought Finding out that my English lit exam was three hours rather than two was a very big help, and I actually managed to get some half decent answers written. My multiple choice exam went very well ideed, and I got 75%! Go me!   Anyway, its back to normal classes tomorrow. And something else.....

Why you shouldn't read Milton, and another rant

My first blog update of 2006 is going to be a bit of a rant. A bit? Quite a lot, in fact.   I'm currently in the middle of my revision period for two exams, one of which is English literature. Two things are bothering me about this exam; the first is a problem I have with all essay based exams (my other exam is multiple choice so it's not much of a problem) and the second is about a certain piece of literature.   Part one: the essay based exam.   I've taken a lot of exams since I star

I just wanted to say.....

....I may not be on Arnies to post in either this blog or the forum over the next week or so, so I better just say this now. Merry Christmas, Seasons Greetings, happy holidays; whichever way you want to say it, whichever religion you're celebrating (if at all) and whatever you get up to, have a good time over the next few days and all the best for 2006.   Take it easy,   Hardcore Mitsuko

I'm so glad that's over...

I have no idea how it happened, but that last essay I was talking about in my last update turned out to be an absolute nightmare. I had all the information to hand (or most of it) but still, of the two days I had to finish it I spent about 12 hours of each trying to get it done. Functioning on hardly any sleep is not fun, since I was up half the night worrying about it. Stupid thing. Regardless, I got it done and handed in on time.   I can quite happily say that after the mood swing episodes

Home again....

Back in Glasgow now after going home for the panto, which was great fun I didn't manage to get any baking done this weekend, however, which was upsetting because we were going to make chilli shaped gingerbread biscuits for hanging on our Mexican themed christmas tree. I can always get round to it later, I suppose, as well as making my (now famous) chocolate chip cookies, and a chocolate christmas cake.   I'm about half way through my last archaeology essay of the season, so I can look forwa
