About this blog

A place to keep track of my newest project

Here it is....

I'll the the pics speak for themselves....     I tried a set of cocking handle that uses the mounting base for the Marui Bomar, but since I had the C-More mounted by a gunsmith before I got the cocking handle, the space underneath the C-more is not enough for the stock sight. I'll have to get another cocking handle(maybe the ProG4) that fits flush to the profile of the slide...   The gun is not zeroed or tuned yet. Test fired today and chronoed 370fps using .20g an

Quick Update

The word from my parts vendor is that he has received the custom parts from ProG4, and that I should get them in my hands sometime next week. This along with the C-More sight that I am getting professionally mounted should also be here sometime next week. So I am hopeful by the weekend that I can have this gun put together and start finetuning and testing....I've gotten hold of most of my internal parts at this time....so it should be fairly straight forward from that point on....

Small Update: Grip Tape and Slide Catch

So the project is progressing nicely.....today saw the arrival of TruGrip pre-cut grip tape. For $30 you get a pack of 5 and the application is simply cleaning the grip with alchohol wipe the package comes with to get rid of the oil from your hand, then peel off the backing of the tape and apply it by lining up the edge and stretching it slightly over to the other side. The texture is what I'd say being equivelent of ~150 grit sandpaper, but maybe slightly less sharp so you can use it alright w

Arrival of the Base Gun...and the sweeping changes...

The arrival of the Hi-Capa was an exciting affair. From eHobbyAsia, the gun came(with an easily removable orange tip), along with the upgraded springs I ordered as well...       Didn't bother to test fire it and soon get down to business. My previous Hi-Capa was a used gun, and I'd imagine there might have been some revision to the design over the years. And sure enough I did find a difference. With my SV kit I've noticed that the slide sits further forward then it supposed to. Wit

Opening Entry: The start of my new project...

Well isn't airsoft wonderful, it eats away your soul while draining your wallet like no other.....   As parts starting to come in I figure I might as well make a blog of it to log my progress and try to keep track of where this might be going.   The premise is simple, an open-class IPSC style racer based on a TM Hi-Capa 5.1. Doesn't sound that different from many who have gone through the same project, and I don't think it'll be that different. But hopefully as with my 1911 and my Infinit
