Dual guns 101

To Dual Gun you must:

Abandon the natural Isometric firing stance.

Learn to fire without a supporting hand. (one handed firing)

Learn to quick index the front sights of not only 1 gun but now 2.

Relearn to effectively place shots.

Relearn how to coordinate your actions as now you have two weapons rather than 1.

Develop Coordination in the weak hand as to make sure the shots from that weapon isn't just fired to scare people.

If you think it's too much effort, that's fine - but don't dismiss dual gunning as impractical. It does take a lot of practice (and a little bit of natural talent helps) but it cam be a fearsomely effective tool, especailly in CQB environments.

Al of the above are important - but the most fundamental thing you need to remember is none of these things.

The most fundamental alteration is in how you think. If you are running a dual gun GBB combo, remember that you must pick your battles carefully. Unless you are very, very good you will NOT be able to take on a fireteam of AEG wielders head on.

If you are serious about learning to dual gun - here is how I would suggest you do so.

1) Find a pair of pistols that feel right. This is the single most fundamental point IMHO; dual Desert eagles probably looks really cool, but I know that I can't hit *beep* with a Deagle in an unsupported right hand, let alone my left. Something about their grip means they don't point 'straight' in my hands. Wierdly, Hardcore has no problem with it, and her hands are smaller than mine.... dry.gif

2) I personally would always reccomend a pair of pistols rather than an off match pair. I find it easier to balance a pair, plus for reloading there's less faffing around as all your magazines should be the same.

3) Start with your right hand. Practice point indexing the pistol onto a target so it becomes truly point and shoot. Don't even start on your left hand till you can draw and double tap the target in a swift 2 3 second movement.

4) Repeat with left hand.

5) Move to using both hands at once. Unless you have a lone target right in front of you, do not point both pistols at the same target. Instead, target in sequence. Point your first hand at the most pressing target, and then as you're pulling the trigger be looking for target two with your left hand. By the time you have aquired target two, target one should be hit and the right hand free to acquire target three.

My current kill record for a single stand up engagement stands at 6 people - I achieved this becuase I had the element of suprise on my side. I came up behind the group to within very close range without them realsing I was Opfor and killed four of the six before they realised I wasn't friendly.

Suprise is your best weapon - if you have to get into a stand up firefight you will lose. Take advantage of the fact you do not carry rattling hicaps and learn to be stealthy - it will serve you very well.
