Ok, so basically I nearly fed someone their P90 today.

I attended a Glasgow 'shindig' for fans of Serenity/Firefly and a bunch of people including myself went in costume.

One of the regular groups from the convention circuit is the 'Reaver Hunters' and a bunch of them showed up, carry various airsoft weapons, one of which is a tricked out p90. Whilst I'm talking to the owner, I notice that it's got a full hi-cap in it. I ask politely if I can have a fondle of the gun, and whilst doing so I remove the buttcap to find it's wired up to a battery. I promptly disconnect it, remove the magazine, hand him back the gun and ask if he minds having a word outside.

In his defence, he was suitably contrite as I delivered a ######ing about the stupidity of his actions, not least the illegality of carrying it to the event in a 'hot' state, but the sheer idiocy made me want to weep. He was carrying a live airsoft weapon in a crowded room where NONE of the attendees would be wearing eye protection.

Just......ARGH!
