Messing around with spare parts

So I had this vision of my TM SVI, with silver controls, and a red grip. So I went out and bought a "red" WE grip and was all set to pull my dual tone controls for the race gun and see what was up. BUT then I got caught up in a selling spree, and well the SVI just seemed to naturally hit the chopping block.

But before I let it go (anyone?) or I at least rebuild it as something brand new, I thought I would mock up exactly how it would have looked (minus the custom stippling work), and here was to be my final look for it:

I also started messing around with my race gun, decided to see if I could get it to work with a 1911 slide (and thus be able to run my 7" Comp set-up from my Delta, which I turned back into a straight 1911) but it didn't work. For some reason, that I can't understand. I think it might be the PDI Hi Capa outer barrel, or the fact that I am running a Hi Capa hop up rather than a 1911. I am going to give it another go at some point.

The Delta does look good as just a single stack 1911 rather than the Comp. I can't seem to go without having a plain single stack 1911 to shoot. I sent my M1911A1 back east to Junior to check out and play with. I am excited to see what he thinks.

Have to finish up another customer gun tomorrow, make sure the Airsoft Surgeon hammer system works smoothly and no longer binds on the bottom of the BBU. Looks good, but the design needs a bit more work from the factory....
