I've flagged it to unarchive - should be live shortly.
-
Sorted, the threads should start to remove threads from the archive as the forum goes through the automated batch process.

Good point. I can set those sections to not archive and unarchive the old threads

No adverts here.

Not something that I have turned on. Perhaps Tapatalk have added it to their engine recently. I will have a look.
It seems like them monetizing. I don't see an advert on my phone but I have the paid for version.
What version of Tapatalk and phone are you using?

Have you got your phone set to desktop mode? Or is your phone browser id set to something other than mobile/android/iPhone?

Remove the filnavn equals bit from the second link and it'll work. On my next set of days off I will fix the archive section.

Checked. Mobile theme works

Okay new addon installed. It doesn't change any post content, just the way things are displayed. What do you guys think?
I'll have to check the mobile version of the site too.

I'm going to redo the front pages and upgrade the software version we use. We use Wordpress (WP) and therefore the look be based on a new theme already available for WP. I'll then rehash it and modify the colours and look to suit us.
Here are some options:
Quandrum: http://themeforest.net/item/quadrum-multipurpose-newsmagazine-theme/full_screen_preview/7205094
(the same people make all of these http://www.orange-themes.com/ )
Jarida: http://themes.tielabs.com/?theme=jarida
These are two of the top listed from here: http://themeforest.net/category/wordpress/blog-magazine/news-editorial
Anyone got any thoughts on the look to help me along?
I am happy to consider alternatives. But...they need to be
- WP compatible
- recently updated and supported (a lot of people encode their products so I won't be able to fix it myself)
- have tablet/laptop/phone skins
- accept a white background for news articles
- I'll also be using our previous news and content, so it has to cater for all of that as well.

I doesn't break it ! I will add the mod when I get back to my desk. Currently on Tapatalk

Hmm doesn't appear to be a feature of the board any more. I was sure it used to do it.
I can add this though: http://community.invisionpower.com/files/file/5524-tng34-quoted-images-as-links-free/

My memory is vague (and somewhat swiss-cheesed sometimes). I seem to remember we discussed this at some point and agreed with your suggestion. I think that we also had a facility to remove images from quotes automatically, but didn't turn it on to allow people to re-quote safely on the odd occasion it was needed.
I agree though it's a reasonable things to add to policy.
Thoughts from anyone else?

Give it a go now - that fixed it?
-
Yeah I know what that will be. I will fix one I get back, currently away for the weekend. My apologies.

I've set the max image size you can add to the board as 2048x2048px. Thumbnails for huge images will appear as 200x200px. I've also increased the size for inset media. Give it a go let me know any feedback.
I have Tapatalk on my phone so I get reminders about people posting in specific areas almost instantly.

Good point. I will tidy up the code. It was set ages ago.

The only issue with allowing view of the sales area is new people sending pm messages to fold. It is an option though

Database here is over 3Gb in size and old posts are archived (moved to a secondary database) when they become inactive. That way it keeps down the overheads and keeps the forums quicker. It's quite a hndy feature but I did mean tot turn it off for the reviews area to stop things archiving automatically.
