    New box

If you can see this we are running on the shiny new box.
  2. It is a choice to keep it all going. We aren't out of pocket doing it so it is all good. My hobby is an airsoft forum and writing code rather than airsoft now ;-) Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk
  3. Hopefully the weird edit error image you've posted above should now be fixed. Let me know if it's not - I edited the code for the forum software and applied a manual patch. The search facility (and things that rely on it) is broken because of the server OS being updated without request. We run on top of some code called Interworx/Nodeworx on a linux varient. Interworx chucked out an update and with it they updated all of the core software such as PHP and Apache tasking them to new versions. This is great however we were running software for a different version, there are specific flavours
  4. If you were getting errors like this Warning: Base directory HTML_PURIFIER_PATHcache/tmp does not exist, please create or change using %Cache.SerializerPath in/home/arniesai/arniesairsoft.co.uk/html/forums/ips_kernel/HTMLPurifier/HTMLPurifier/DefinitionCache/Serializer.php on line 133 when you try to edit a post then let me know if it is now fixed. I've just applied a minor patch and rewritten some of the code.
  5. There may be a few forums I missed that count on the post count thing. Lemme have a look. I've just sorting out an edit problem in the forum code tha causes errors when posting sometimes.
  6. It is on my list mate but I am waiting for the server move. I can then get everything fixed properly. Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk
  7. Our server had an "unexpected" upgrade done to the hosting and core OS software. This has caused a heap of issues; so much so that we are moving and upgrading our hosting to a new (bigger, more powerful, newer hardware) box. We're coaxing things along until then. There may be some issues until this happens!
  8. Can you give me some examples and some links to look at?
  9. Nah we are running the latest TapaTalk addon for IPB. v3.5 which was released 28JUN2013. Have double checked our install and it's exactly as TT ask it to be installed. Not sure how it interfaces with the app myself as it's their code.
  10. I have updated the push key in the settings for Tapatalk. Any luck?
  11. I am just updating it to the latest version. Let me know how it goes for you. All updates added, latest hook etc.
  12. Yup they are all spam users. I'm just doing some "pruning" and then going to see if I can adjust the filters so that guests and validating can't "like" posts.
  13. It is possible that these are spammers liking your posts (bots) but we are banning them as they come in. have you got a list of names? I can check them against the database and see who they are.
  14. Done some digging. Saw that your images had "by CouponDropDown" in the ALT text. Looks like you have that installed. There's a reference article here: http://www.2-spyware.com/remove-coupon-drop-down.html Check your Add/Remove Programs and let me know.
  15. I will look into it for you. We shouldn't have any form of advertising on the forums. The only place it may be coming from is the tapatalk add on. I will also check to see if something has been turned on or activated that was previously dormant.
  16. I know we've had a bit of an influx of spammers recently. Whilst they don't pose a threat (one click and they are gone) it does require interaction from members or staff to spot them and then and admin to remove them. IPS have updated their spam service lately, but I've also installed a plugin called Stop Spammer Registration that links in with Stop Forum Spam and Project Honey Pot. With luck this will block a lot more of these bots that have done the rounds lately.

Nah we run off a dedicated rack in a server farm. Glad the speed is better!

Let me know times (and timezone you are in) that you find it slow. I can then check here. Sadly I don't have 24/7 access here due to my "real" working life getting in the way. I can keep an eye on things and see if there's more I can do. Last time we were overloading things because the databases were just too big. I solved that by archiving a lot of older stuff. It's still available in the forums, just listed separately if it's a year or more old.

Caz, has that error now gone? There will be a brief slow period at one point during the day when the backup runs, that is sadly normal and unavoidable.

the load has dropped back down now, so I'm hoping it was just lag caused by the service not being restarted for ages. We are due a hardware upgrade at some point but we're okay funds wise.

Just rebooted the web front end now. Ironically when I went to get at the service this morning when I saw this post I couldn't get in! I've restarted the front ends now, there will be a load spike while it settles and I'll monitor it. The box has been up 597 days so it's done well so far.
  22. Just posting a reply as a test here. Is it printing or posting you've got difficulty with or was that a typo?
  23. I've updated Tapatalk to v 3.4.1. There's more news on the release here: http://support.tapatalk.com/threads/tapatalk-for-ipboard-plugin-release-announcement-and-changelog.4031/page-3 this includes all the latest software and the new forum hook. Please let me know of any issues in the usual area.
