CAG Kit ver 1.0:
and the CAG MRE (My prefference version) final:
Uniform for this is a set of M81 woodlands modded, Custom OP Top (combat shirt) and Modded trousers pockets shifted for useing Drop legs and knee pads. Shock cord in ankles.
Still trying to sort out an ANVIS mount but I am not sure if I really want to screw with that or not. I have a MICH 2000 for this kit and still need to get a good idea of what it still needs.

new swag
2 coyote LBT velcro mag shingles.
Star P-Mags
Toysoldier antenna adaptor pouch
Element Commtac's with Peltor style PTT
TF 141 patch (TS)
If I tell you..Id hsve to kill you patch (TS)
-
Hunk that is a nice looking chest rig.
-
I dunno about the other mags but the STAR ones are dissapointing. I am going to have to mod them to make them work. They don't feed for nothing and they have the tugged out of a DBOY receiver.

I believe BigAl is referring to navymp28's post and replica. Not yours.
The gas block does look a bit low now that I looked at it closer. Try the Hurricane Gas Block, I used it for my old HK M4D inspired replica and look "right" .
Yeah it's low with the H&K front sight but with the normal A frame BU Front sight it is perfect. I looked at the Hurricane Gas Block as well and will probably go that route eventually but that gas block was free and fits th e bill for now. I might put the older front sight on there might not.

yeah your not gonna see AOR per sey being in use by non NSW cats often if at all. And for the record it is NWU Type 3 now not AOR2 ...

Are you sure its an actual PACA, not a safariland SFLCS low vis carrier, Paraclete RAV low vis carrier, BCS BALCS carrier, and a list of others? Can you post those pics?
Im not saying that they dont use low vis carriers, but not that specific model of PACA that people usually refer to by saying the term PACA (BALCS cut, front and rear hard armor plates, usually tan with velcro on the front). Ive seen a couple pics from like late 2003/2004 where they have tan PACAs that are different models than that.
No I don't save every photo I see on the internet. And yeah they were definetly NOT wearing BCS, RAV LVC, etc. It was a plain jane tan PACA. The LVC's in the numerous LCS kits are all copies of PACA's. So for Airsoft purposes PACA is fine.
If you get too wrapped around the axels with some of the "details" you miss the point of this GAME. And there is ALOT of stuff that goes on and that is used that really doesn't see alot of documentation on the internet and make it into the hands of the gear collectors out there.

Suggestions for early C*G-you may want to go with a Knights Armament forehand grip and rail covers. You might also consider an M951 as mentioned or even a Surefire 6P with a G&G 1" ring mount, a PEQ-2 for a battery box, a Colt LE stock and an Aimpoint M68 with a high mount. But I bet you already know this.
Yeah I am taking some personal prefference liberties with it. Mainly because the crane stock was avaliable and I know it was used, I have the M951 and it is going onto the rifle just in two different spots when the pic was taken. I have a PEQ2 box that was originally sourced for the gun but it is currently sitting on my G36K KSK until I can get a Deans wired LIPO for a PEQ15 box.
I have seen pics of CAG with EOTECHs, Crane stocks, etc. I just prefer the feel of the cranestock for a cheek weld and prefer the EOTECH to an aimpoint I know there is some lee-way for shooter prefference. If I can do it
at my command I know a Tier1 unit can do it. I also wanted to do something a little different than the average CAG MRE out there. most of them are going to have that config and it gets a little cookie cutter after awhile.
-
I would ditch the PACA, never seen pics of SF guys using them. Although they do use other types of low vis. armor carriers, but just not low vis. BALCS PACAs. I would also suggest getting a khaki Eagle plate carrier with cummerbund. They arent really seen wearing RRV and back plates really.
And as a general rule of thumb, having all SFLCS pouches doesnt necessarily make it a good configuration. I would suggest throwing in some Paraclete, tactical tailor, and some other types of good gear in there in addition to SFLCS. Kinda get a mix of things.
Not accurate at all. The PACA is fine I have seen plenty of pictures from Afghanistan that have shown it in use.
@MYSL1 that khakit / tan DOAV is super nice. I dig it ALOT!

An M951 actually.

My MRE finally finished:
I might add a different rear BUIS though and I need to put the Surefire on, but over all it is complete. I can finally focus on the fine details of my early 2000's CAG kit.

My SR25 SASR:
She is almost done still waiting on the Knights one piece scope mount, Harris style Bipod, and Tango down style QD short fore-grip. Once those come in it will be complete.
Just added the Berska 1.5-4.5X20 scope and a Prometheus tight bore barrel. Would have a Prome strike chamber and hard bucking too but for some reason it would jam up. So I threw a G&G bucking and the Tightbore into the stock A&K chamber.
I am debating on adding a DYTAC PEQ15 FDE for looks to it as well but I am not sure if that is even worth it. I mean it would look sweet but...meh. I think the last thing I will need to add internally will be a MOSSFET to assist in more reliable semi-auto fire.

I think it is more or less done now, a M4D inspired H&K rifle:

Those are some great suggestions man. I'll admit that stack has some major problems, namely the point man not in control of his weapon. Also, shortly after the pic was taken, he threw the device to low and hit the door jam, so it essentially went off at our feet. . I was thinking about the high port postion, but I was afraid in the heat of the moment I'd barrel strike the dude in front of me.
The High-port is the best way to do an entry (actually for everything) I was trained in both ways high-port and low ready and High-port is the better of the two hands down. There is a reason that NSW has been useing High-port for quite some time.
Some advice wanted or not is as follows:
The stack as already mentioned is really loose and there is no control element at all. The #2 man should be driveing the stack and keeping the #1 man in check. Once your team gets good at this type of stuff your #1 man is going to want to go, go, go and #2 needs to keep him from going prematurely. There is no points of contact on your guys either. How are you guys going to give a signal to move?
In one pic one of the doods is on the wall, leaning on it. That is a bad idea and can make undue noise that can give away the fact your there and wanting to make entry. Your #1 can use his off hand to toss in the grenade and really shouldn't be peeking in the room. He could catch a round in the face and then now you have a casualty as well as some one now blocking the door. If he was to go down...well you step over him and keep making entry.
Just some observations. There is alot of great material out there that can help out a little. but to be honest nothing beats haveing some experience or someone on the team that knows what he is doing in some form or another. But to be honest there is a million ways to skin a cat....but some ways get that *beep* balder faster.
The NZSAS dood in MC is Willie Apiata an extremely decorated NZSAS soldier and that pic is causeing some serious drama..LOL.
Eizen nice kit by the way.

smoke what make of AUSCAM is that?
-
Robnok that is a sweet looking kit. Polish Pantera?
-
@Lizzard
Do me a favor and get rid of that MP5 man. It really doesn't go with MC or with your loadout.
@kylec
Outstanding soldier.
Are you serious? That is one of the most retarted statements I think I have ever read on Arnies. Lizzard use whatever gun you feel is the right fit for you. Especially when it is a generic look like that Multicam look you have going on. What in the world "goes with Multicam" then?
I guess Lizzard needs to be like everyone else and have an M4 and to make it extra special Multicam he needs a Magpul raped M4 to boot. Freaking stupid.

This pic was taken for an illustration I am working on but it shows some of my newest purchases.
EBB "O" Gloves, Blackhawk LV5 Softshell in Alpha Green. Everything else is old..lol. And no it is not a MW2 thing it is for a Seal team illustration .

who really finds that using a foregrip is comfortable?
If your useing it right it should be pretty comfortable. I know from real experience with one that they are great for increasing accuracy especially at close ranges. In airsoft I have has similar experience just not as drastic (a 6mm BB can only get so accurate.) If you find the grip uncomfortable you might have it too close or too far for you and gripping it with the whole hand is not too comfortable. I use a method of "Cupping" my hand and then drawing back with pressure. Alot like the way Kylec is holding his M4 in the pics above.
This way is worlds more comfortable that they way I initially had learned to use it. I was a Magwell shooter for the longest time and then had been issued an M4 with all the bells and whistles and had a vert grip on it too...I would still use the Magwell and my cadre would constantly hit on it asking why I never use the grip. I told them it was uncomfortable..blah..blah. I then moved the Grip all the way back and held it vice the Magwell to keep them from asking me...then I got the why is your grip all the way back? Then a Cadre actually showed me that method and it was great. I actuall use my vert grip now..I would like to try one of those half grips though I hear it lends to that style of hold better.
Sorry if thies response is too off topic.

1. I am pretty sure it is the Beretta M9 But Airforce Aircrew's and Pilots do get SIG P228's
2. It could work from an open purchase angle but I am sure there are better rigs for this impression Tactical Tailor stuff is well liked.
3. If you want it to look more like you are a PJ I would say yeah it would be a good touch as well as a personal safety lanyard.
4. SOG Seal Pup is the knife I have seen. It is a comman issued knife in alot of the different units.
5. OD works fine but works better if you dust it with some krylon tan. Kryloned kit is pretty common with operators that may have become partial to a certain rig and don't want to A.) Buy more ######, B.) They really dig it and it for one reason or the other is no longer issued by there supply so they want to keep it. C.) They dig it and just wanaa run it still and it is not condusive to their current operational enviroment so they will hit it up with some krylon..I mean it's nothing some more green Krylon later won't fix right?
Hope this is a little more helpful. And looking through the thread if you have the time is pretty useful as well but it is alot of information and I san see where some of your questions are valid. I am not sure if knife's and the like have been addressed in the past.
Some Cool pics can be found here:
http://www.nationalmuseum.af.mil/factsheet....asp?fsID=13584
Not all PJ's but it does show some OD kit over Tri-color early in OEF mainly CCT's but alot of the kit cross pollinates so it is not too far out to use some of the same kit. Alot of doods on here will argue otherwise but they aren't in the military for one and for two have no clue how the supply system works. For a great example of that my unit had quite a bit of tier one stuff when we first stood up because alot of the kit that is in the stock system is as far as ground combat goes in the Navy is NSW stuff. So we got alot of the same kit. When we were in Iraq early on we had PEQ15's and the SEALS in country hadn't received theirs yet. They were checking ours out. It was just one of those weird things. Alot of it is budget and supply. And AFSOC has a Great budget...actually the Air Force as a whole does.

Which is the 3 pouch one? I would love to see pics of the MOD when your finished.

Any of you Flecktarn users looking for 3-farb flecktarn rigs? I think I need to get a 5-farb instead of the 3-farb TACGEAR Specialist I currently have. The rig is tits but 5-farb is more versatile I think seeing as how it can work with 3-farb kits and 5-farb kits. Or is 3-farb kit more common now instead of 5-farb stuff being worn in arid/desert enviroments?

I have seen alot of German SF units buying US stuff. I see the German Navy Sf and the KSK here in Virginia from time to time doing stuff with the SEALS and they go to the local tac shops and open purchase stuff. Alot of the open purchase I have seen from them has been packs. I saw a few Coyote Chest rigs being open purchased too of note was the LBT 1961A and an RRV in Khaki. So I am sure some American kit has begun to seep into those organizations. As for the packs I have seen an Elberstock pack in Coyote and a few Kelty's being purchased.
I wanted to do a German SFish look but didn't want to pull the cop-out that Airsoft International did with their So you wannabe KSK article. That article still to this day bugs the ever living *suitcase* out of me. Mainly the line "..and who says the KSK didn't deploy to Afghanistan with them". Reffering to the PACA replica and stuff they outfitted their doods in. I mean it is possible that a KSK operator or two have used a PACA and it was an open purchase if they have loose guidelines regarding the purchase and wear of non issued armor.
Is TACGEAR.DE stuff used by then German units at all? I know it is made in their pattern, I have a 3-Farb Flectarn Specialist chest rig and that is what I need an armor carrier or plate carrier to wear under.

Do the Germans use anything like a PACA at all?
