Rob has pretty much nailed it on the head. If members could view the forum but couldn't post, I think that would be even worse than now. A scammer could PM people to see if they wanted to trade, then get like 5 or so people willing and then offer the same gun to all five and hope that one or more would be willing to send their's first - or "at the same time" and then never send his out. This way, people can post trade offers in the thread and there at least is some sort of trail. Granted this isn't some grand, intensive sales protection, but it is at least something. In regards to the first thing, it seems to be happening to me as well with W7 and chrome. In regards to the second thing, that has been brought up multiple times and if you look in the site suggestions forums you can find a bunch of answers to it. Basically it will never happen because the ability to abuse it far outweighs the good.

Ok, when you post pictures, make sure you censor words/images that are censored here on the forums. This is a PG13 forum. What I am talking about specifically is the "Hey *fruitcage* Face" patch that's popular. I've had to remove three posts in two days because of this. Its not that hard, most hosting sites provide basic editing so just cover it with a black bar or something.

Just as to confirm that it does appear to be an across the board issue, I had the same thing happen to me; all my digests came yesterday, and today I just got one.

Yea, we generally try to discourage random sales solicitations via PMs as it is rife for problems. At least if there is a thread there is some sort of easier to follow trail. I have done deals via PM before, but they were all with people I know and have dealt with in the past. edit: Arnie, quick question about the new format; since the thumbnails cause the thread titles to be bigger, would it display less threads per page? I think right now the default is 30 thread per page, if this drops it down to 10 per page I think we would see an increase in bump attempts.

I like that you can make linking to the deal that took place (thread) mandatory! I think that should be good because it would help both us as mods and members so that they can see exactly what the reps were for!
