  1. Haha Oggy, so that will solve all parralax problems, the dim laser problem, the lens problem, all by just buying the real deal! Which of course some of us will be bidding on that shortly...
  2. Quick question, how many of you run this gun on a 9.6v opposed to a 8.4? I am concerned that running 9.6 will ruin the gearbox faster than usual..
  3. Which is a good reason to wait for parts or take good care lubing and using HFC134a if you want to be safe.
  4. Apparently that part is quite brittle. I am wondering if inserting the magazine with the bolt open (charging handle pulled) would help instead of jamming it in with the bolt closed. Then again, I have to say we should wait for a new nozzle to be made by a 3rd party.
  5. The M4A1 SOCOM model is released a few days ago and including the EBB S&W PC356. [url/]
  6. Elanaiba- Yours I have to say it is a 50/50. Remedy this by applying oil on the magazine's follower link up part and the part in the gearbox where the lever is located at to disconnect the power. Hopefully yours could may be just that its a stiff joint thats needs to be worked up a bit. Gunfighters808-I don't have the April issue so I can't be of much help, but perhaps if you can photograph it I can take a look at it.
  7. LA Gunshop is most likely using a modified part. Given the way I've somewhat used to be with them that's what they like to do. However preorders of new Prometheus parts have come in. This includes a hard cut off lever made in aluminum for ver2 and ver3 Gearboxes, hard tappet plates for ver2 and ver3, but no words on the SOPMOD parts. These parts are to be released on 3/14 but also includes new 9 Ball Hi Capa parts from thumb rest, magwells, scope mounts, and anti grip safety lever.--Sorry a little off topic.
  8. There was only a few things that included fragile diecast part on the dust cover latch and bolt catch. The dust cover latch and bolt catch were fixed in the 2nd batch. Most of the SOPMODs on sale now should have all problems fixed so as long as you don't have any problems with the latch on the dust cover breaking off or the catch not working, you shouldn't worry. If its something else which includes your problem of the tappet, it is likely to be either lemon or the problem is beginning to show and thus third party companies should be already in progress of making the parts. I wouldn't worry as
  9. Just some small snippet, but depending on which batch of TM SOPMOD you bought, you are likely to have the 1st batch if something did go wrong. Marui immediately made small adjustments to the bolt catch functions after the first batch back in Feb. So it's a possibility that you may or may not have had a 1st batch version or it is an actually lemon.
  10. This should help in the mean time. This is the parts list for the gun.
  11. Interesting, mines is still running good, however I don't believe your gun is faulty, but as you say it can be because the cold weather affects metal too. Metal tends to expand in warmer weathers and usually airsoft guns are made to work in normal weather and not extreme cold so that could be the problem. Try firing the gun at normal room tempeture and see if that will work.
  12. No problem DFR! Yes those blimey Y-screws are something I don't want to force/damage so I'll have to hold off on taking it apart. Thanks for the link too, I'll bookmark it. When firing the gun, it is the same principals like shooting a real gun. The gun's recoil is slightly behind, however the BB should have existed the barrel by then. I have mentioned that becuase the gun slightly shakes up, the gun will still have some slight deficiency in accuracy, however the gun is overall accurate like a M14 to hit the target. The way you hold the gun also determines the accuracy as well. Say
  13. Hey Merc Gummy! I'm glad to hear you're local too. I apparently was working for them you know? That aside, I'm sure the accuracy is very great, however I tested with a stock model and I only give a 10/10 if the accuracy of the gun is all in the bulls eye. The gun isn't accuracte enough to hit the same spot the same time so I have given it a 9/10 as it is more fair. My tests are sorta based if all x amount of shots hit the same area on the paper target. lol, but anyways man if you have the money go get one man! Oh and if you were turned off by the grips, 1) Buy a Clear FLAT Coat spray and
  14. Hey DesertFoxRomel! I'm glad to hear you enjoyed the review, however I do apologize I have not really gone to far details on the blowback unit. One is I still can't take it apart because I don't a specific driver for the job. Yet the mechanism is very well designed to fire a BB and fire up the blowback/recoil system. The gearbox is a modified ver.3, very much like the Type89 model and call it a ver.8. This gearbox is only known as the recoil gearbox 01. The mechnism works by a half cut gearbox on top, pulling a catch on the upper reciever's blowback unit. This blowback unit (it's metal we
  15. Ah finally! The smell and aching of success...in a small world. Yes after my drastic computer crash, camera memory stick failure, bad weather photography, busy schedule, what more can I ask to finish such a simple review?! Well after around...say 1 whole week of time, I have finished this belated review of the TM AK74MN. It's complete with pictures, however there is no gearbox pictures... Enjoy what I have though! TM AK74MN Review It's a thorough review with details and non-bias non-fanboy comments. A full comprehensive review with lite+ pictures. In my future revi
  16. This is Shinden reporting to tell you that I have the TM AK74MN and an extensive review is about to be here soon on Arnies! Before you get excited, this review was supposed to be done by a couple days ago. What happened? Technology fails. Yes, my VAIO Sony that I entrusted my life just apparently reached its limit and I had to format the thing to get it working again. Thankfully I keep a hard copy of everything, however my pictures were deleted so now I'm just re-editing the pictures I posted on different Japanese websites for the AK74MN review. Yes my review is on other websites too, ho
  17. lol Exorcist 86, My job is only to write a review here. Not to convince people to buy this and that. Yet due to that I am very selective on good products, whatever I write on thoroughly means it has met my standards and I would recommend it as long as it fits what you/people are looking for. And to note, I don't give 89/100 as often for a new gun on the market. Right now on Redwolf, that price is a very good steal. Thats even better than the discount I receive too you know? So for me, that price on Redwolf will make things a little easier on the gun since the original price is what s
  18. Perhaps in about a month or two there might be parts available if the AK74MN gun is popular among the companies who makes the parts. Its still around a month on the market, but it's still too early to decide if the gun is popular or not in Japan. I have heard from my folks again that the gun is popular, however there are mixed reviews. The small battery (8.4 600mah) battery is only good for about 2 hi-caps worth unless you put a 1200 or higher mah battery. So this is one reason why its not as popular for gaming purpose -(unless everyone on field are using small battery weapons). I am hop
  19. Hey Exorcist 86! The stock, grip, foregrip, and magazine has flat finish instead of the smooth polished finish. The magazine has a slight variation on the surface mold. The rest of the parts are just a flat finish so it feels slightly smooth and rough. There are no Nylon based plastics/polymer used on this gun. The gun does feel remarkably like the real one though. If you are into modeling, a quick spray of model-based paint can help make the plastic more rough.
  20. Thanks Warning! Well currently there are plenty of videos on youtube at the moment so I figured I don't have to put a video up. Also *(I can't find extra recording discs for my Sony Video Camera...>_<) so I'm not sure when I'll get to post videos. Perhaps in my future review for the next Marui AEG I will use video reviews as well. Then again thanks for reading!
  21. Sup Sekiryu! I have never tried cutting a portion off of the bolt, however the bolt design is made to be pulled by the center bolt peice. There is the cover for the bolt, and the actual bolt. The blowback works by pulling the rod that is connected to the center piece of the blowback. This means the stroke of the gearbox must be longer for the bolt to be pulled back farther. Currently I do not believe it is possibe to have the bolt pull all the way back by cutting out a few parts.
  22. Hey Exorcist 86! The battery compartment is only around 1cm larger in length to the 8.4v mini battery. You can put a Li-poly battery inside as long as it is the compact model. I do recommend not to use anything bigger then a 9.6v battery at the most. There are li-poly batteries that are 11.1v too, but that would be too strong on the gearbox. If anything, use a li-poly battery that is around 9.6 v or less with atleast 1200MAH or higher.
  23. Really? Well perhaps that one pictured may not work, however my friend in Japan placed one on top though...I have to find his photo somewhere when I have time. Then again thanks for reading guys and the feedback!
  24. Tokyo Marui AK74MN –Conclusion, Score, and Personal Opinion. The Verdict- Now is the verdict! Ever since the first Airsoft gun was made I was amazed with the concept of the AEG system. The ability to fire a rifle, semi-auto and full-auto without the use of tanks and a more user friendly system to charge a battery and go, changed the games; not to mention the available aftermarket parts to create your own custom gun. With Tokyo Marui producing guns with blowback, burst, internal recoil, compact gearboxes, improved hop-up and accuracy, the TM AK74MN is a nice surprise and change of airso
