  1. Tokyo Marui AK74MN –Performance, Shooting, and Feel Enough with the chat, lock and load! Now this is entirely a very hard gun to explain in words as many people have different views and results on the gun’s blowback. Some may say it’s great, other may say it’s weak. Let’s get down to business and settle this. Upon loading the magazine and a charged battery, the initial tests were done in Semi-Auto only for accuracy tests, feel, power, and blowback. Before firing at the paper target, I have already set the front and rear sites to accommodate my tests and the hop up was adj
  2. Let's look at the detail surrounding the gun. This is a view of the AK74MN from underneath and you can see how the receiver pins and screws are exactly at the right areas. There are a few serial numbers on the gun including the number 0625 on the bolt and Izhmash logo followed by 7840625 on the left side of the receiver. When you collapse the stock, this is how the rear end of the gun looks like. The receiver has every slots, bolts, pins, and screws on the right areas. Are you curious to the design of the AK74MN? Her
  3. The gun is now loaded and ready to shoot! Simply load the BBs into the magazine and move the selector from Safe to Semi-Auto. Now before I start shooting, lets jump to the hop up and bolt. The hop up of the gun is very much like the one used in the Type 89. Unlike previous AK47s, the hop up was a small lever that freely moved around at times from playing. The hop up is located inside the bolt. Simply pull the metal bolt back and hold it. You will see a dial-type hop up system. You can adjust the hop up more or less by turning the dial clockwise and less by counter clockwise turns.
  4. Now going towards the front of the gun, we have the metal outer barrel and muzzle break. The front muzzle break/flash hider can be removed by pressing a small rod to disengage the stop. While holding this small rod in, you can turn the muzzle break and completely remove it. Note: This muzzle break is only for the AK74MN and does not use a 14mm thread. Once the muzzle is removed you are greeted with a familiar 14mm Neg. thread for you to attach your own aftermarket silencers. (Very much like the TM MAC10 as well) Below the barrel is a thin rod-like piece. This is actually present on
  5. Moving towards the rear, the gun features the unique folding stock. The stock is made of plastic, however there are metal parts used in the smaller areas. At the rear of the buttplate, there is a button-like tab protruding out and a large circular plate. The larger plate is actually a storage room for a Cleaning Kit in the real AK74M rifle *(Known as the Cleaning Kit Compartment). You simply press the plate in to operate. To fold the stock, you will have to press a circle shaped button/tab on the left side of the receiver to release the lock. The stock will then collapse/fold to the left of th
  6. Looking down the sight is the classic AK47 style rear sight adjustment and front sight. The rear sight is like a ladder in which the two tabs at each end are to be pressed and slide up or down for elevation. Both rear and front sights are made of metal as well. The front sight is a horn-like shape ring with a post in the middle. The center post can be adjusted as well with the included front sight adjustment key tool. Simply attach the key on top of the post and turn it around until you have the desired height. The AK sights in general are not like the peep hole sights on that of M4s.
  7. Tokyo Marui AK74MN Rundown of the Beauty No Trigger Discipline Required The overall length of the assault rifle is 943mm long (94.3cm) with the stock unfolded. While this may sound like a small weapon, it is longer than your average AK47. With the stock folded however, the gun is only at 700mm (70cm) long. It is just as short as an AKS. Lets look at how to make the gun work: At first there is a nice red warning sticker under the selector slots stating that if it is removed you will scratch the surface of the receiver. There is no such thing as a scratc

  9. >>>>>>Tokyo Marui AK74MN Shoot and Recoil Engine<<<<<< Modernized AK Rifle 5.45 x 39MM Model of 1991 Shinden Airsoft Review Background of the Tokyo Marui AK74 Announced in Spring of 2007 at the Shizuoka Hobby Show in Japan, people pass through the Tokyo Marui booth with the black colored board with a AK74 Modernized poster. Many thought it was just a remake until now. The AK74MN is the latest innovation AEG available from Tokyo Marui taking a leap towards a more realistic Airsoft gun and providing realism. Before, the very first AEG created w

  11. Honestly what I fear/worry for BE is that the TYPE89 isn't everyone's cup of tea. We have nationality issues(I'm ______and it's a Japanese gun so__________ ) and so on as well as the size of the gun not being right for most guys in the US. Honestly it's great to know how BE is improving again, yet I have a belief that I rather be buying something that was originally made by the OM.. However this means if your TM gears break outside of Japan, you still have a chance to grab a gun and a set of gears from BE's gun.
  12. Have you tried the water test FarEast? I cannot find any detail reviews on the gun's reliability after being soaked into water as some users on Youtube have posted. I personally cannot recommend it, however VFC have been experimenting with multiple water and ice tests on thier guns especially the 416 and SCAR. I'm just wondering FarEast, but I'm glad to see this review! Subarashii!
  13. I used this gun in a CQB skirmish recently, however with that silencer it does make a big difference in sound. With all the players wearing full face masks, the MAC10's sound signature is not audible with the silencer. I was apparently duel weilding guns, however single hand shots was just effective without aiming(not using sights) at all but just point the large silencer towards the target. I am happy to say it's accuracy does pay a lot in CQB as in one game I was able to take down 3 out of 5 guys (semi-auto) in a small room with it with great effeceincy. The size of the grip is large, but wh
  14. lol don't worry I well understand on the laws here, however being Japanese and I go back and forth tp Japan I'm more accustomed to orange-less guns. Also here in Hawaii we can still remove them after the warranty expires and it's all on our own. Despite me being able to remove such a thing cleanly, it still takes a huge amount of time and effort that could have been easily solved by importing models without the painted tip. In airsoft world here, just a small speck of orange is good enough for some players to find you and finally the fact of being different is what strikes local players. Most
  15. That's the common thing were you have to have the spring in the magazine 'used' up. It's not a big issue, but on some of the Marui MP7s, that was also the issue including the nozzle. As for the magazine follower, I found it's purpose slightly useful as when you press the magazine catch, the magazine will shoot out, allowing you for easier or faster magazine changes. Boy you're lucky to have your MAC10 without orange paint! The ones in my shop had to come with a painted tip on both silencer and gun. That aside it's amazingly unfortunate that newer Marui guns are slowly losing it's customer in m
  16. KAMMPAI here too! I detect MORE KAMMPAI!

  17. Oy new ava everytime !

  18. I think clones just don't have any souls. Nothing innovative about them. Just re-doing something over and over.

  19. i give a comment... ;p;

  20. lol working on friends~ :o

  21. Thank you for the clarifications FarEast, I really appreciate it. I'm sorry to ask again, but was Tanio Koba there at the show?
  22. It's interesting the new VZ.61 Skorpion AESMG's gun to have an almost identical gearbox as the MP7, however judging and comparing the gearboxes from the photos, both are the same and it is hard to make a clear judgment if the rumors are true about an electric blowback system. I have one news from my friend at Tokyo Marui who came to our shop and said the new AESMG is scheduled in March. That being said in early December, it is clear what he said is true as Marui is making the USP and Vz.61 on schedule. It would be great if you can Fareast, to determine if the rumor about the blow
  23. Yes you can fill the magazine with green gas. It is that the gas might be too strong on the slide when firing. It is not the temperature in Hawaii because it was tested at 72F and it was also tested outside at 81F. There was only the problem when the magazine is fully filled with green gas. My best suggestions is gas the magazine before its full.
  24. The G17 by Marui does have splendid performances even on Green gas. It will max out at 290 FPS with .20grams BBs. Best thing to know is it still features the same diecast chamber on the upper slide therefore it is known for the hammer on the G26Advances to break the chamber (not nozzle). Also, if you put too much green gas in the magazine and fire, the gun will shoot the first round and the slide will lock back with the slide off the frame tracks. Thus this will result in the trigger's arm catch to bend out of shape resulting to more slide locks. This problem is easily fixed by bending the par
