  1. After a long absence, I'm back in the Brotherhood... Frigging photobucket misbehaving... Try again...
  2. Ah, totally unsure of which version mine is, got it second hand so no idea how old it is. Time to take bits off! Thanks for the response all!
  3. Hello all, some nice guns here since I last checked in, particularly good to see yours with the RIS fitted there Rogue! I have a question - After a recent night game at urban, I'm dead set on sorting out some tracer fire and trying to locate any TM Tracer Units in stock in the country. However, am I right in thinking that the ICS L85 flash suppressor is held on by a grub screw and not threaded at all? If that's the case, the only alternative I'm aware of are the G&P Illuminated M4 mags. Anyone know if these are actually any good? Specifically, do they work well with the ICS L85'
  4. Perfectly welcome Ed-Skar, glad that it's of help to someone! Only thing I would add is that to cut the grooves to hold the piece of metal, the gap between the two sides of the housing is slightly too narrow for your average hacksaw blade. I managed to drill a small hole in either side, which allowed me to use a hobby knife to scrape away a notch on either side. This gave me the room to use the hacksaw blade.
  5. I've already posted pictures of my ICS L85A2 a while back, and nothing's changed externally. However, I felt the need to post about a recent problem and my fix for it. Last game the trigger would lock backwards on repetition. I could push it back into position and it would fire again, only to lock in the rearward position again. No problems on automatic. A bit of looking into similar problems indicated a plastic pin in the switch assembly which allowed a small spring to return the trigger to the firing position. Pretty much every solution involved straight up replacement of the swi
  6. Thanks for the informed reply RSM, much appreciated. The battery is 25C discharge I believe, so the motor should be getting more than enough power. Your point about the ICS motor being more torque than speed is something I hadn't considered before, and that certainly seems to be what's happening here. I'll hook the battery up to one of my mates M4's, they're running LiPos and getting much higher rof than me. If they get the same kind of rof, then that'll be that. That said, do I need to retain that ICS motor for any technical reason? Could I exchange it for a motor that'll get that ro
  7. Very happy with my ICS L85 so far, after sorting the initial low-velocity problem (plastic fouling in the barrel and a dodgy hop rubber). Just got hold of a Li-Po for it (7.4v 1900mah), as one of the Ni-Cads had already died and wasn't too confident how long the other would last. I have one question - by anyone elses experience, could I safely use an 11.1v LiPo in my ICS? My understanding is that too high a voltage will increase the rate of fire to the point that it begins to shred any internals that can't take the strain. The 7.4v doesn't seem to have significantly increased the rof
  8. Yeah, a barrel mount would be ideal, but I don't have one, and no spare cash for a while. The sight rail will certainly do in the short term.
  9. Cheers Mr Kinnerley, the wife accuses me of being a geek for buying what we use, but I like them regardless! And they're just regular ICS Hi-caps that come with the gun Panoptes. Did play around with putting my laser / torch unit on the spare bit of rail in front of the scope, works pretty well. The laser is not eye safe, but the torch will be very useful for a night game. Obscures 40% of the sight picture through the ACOG, but in a night game I think it's a good trade-off. Will put a pic of that up at some point.
  10. I think I'm ready to go now. Had some issues with the ICS L85 at my first game, low velocity which turned out to be due to the hop-rubber and some plastic fouling in the barrel (bought it second hand), but good to go for Urban Assault on the 29th in full working order! First time using the 1x red/green dot ACOG-alike as well, plus yet to use the P226 in anger. Next order of business will be a LiPo I think, certainly a killflash for the scope.
  11. Excellent seller, goods received in quick order, all in mint condition and full working order as described

  12. Nice one bud, that makes my mind up on the scope then, and thanks for the advice on the mags. See you end of October sometime!
  13. Nice one Nick, is that the 130-dollar job from EHobby? How do you rate it? I'm looking at getting one of those as part of my bulk-buy when I get back to the UK. Like the rail on the top cover, is that an 'official' thing, or you just happened to realise you could bodge one on there? Btw, what mags do you use? Mid-Cap or Hi-Cap?
  14. I'm dead set on picking one of these up with my op bonus when I get back in November, but I have one concern - the flash suppressor. I don't know why they didn't try and get closer to the real thing, it's almost like they just couldn't be bothered! I can see a much better one is available on the ICS website, under the L85 accessories, that seems to be a perfect copy of the real thing. Has anyone made the change, and if so, where did you get it from?
  15. Nah man, she's having a great time in there by all counts. She's redefined my wife's concept of a kidney punch. Got to tell you, it's the freakiest thing in the world to see the missus' stomach when she's wriggling round in there, I get Alien flashbacks everytime it happens... I saw the actual outline of a god-damn hand last time.
