The new 5KU mags is a replica of the AGM mags and seems to have ironed out the AGM mag issues (stronger spring, full metal exterior) and just like the AGM it doesn't leak on green gas. With 630g it also weighs less.

The first pic should be self-explaining as all items are labeled. The second pic (wantong items in the front from left to right) shows: forward assist assembly, hopup set, hard mag rubber, hammer spring. The third pic shows a close-up of the hopup set from the second pic. To get the US$ prices multiply by 0.12904, for Euros by 0.09081 . You can get all these items and more from www.px-airsoft.com It's really cheap to upgrade all your AGM internals to steel and where useful with ball bearings. Only parts left that cost a little more are the NPAS from RA-Tech and the G&P

True, that's about all the parts it needs to be skirmishable on green gas. But you can get most parts for much less: (price tags are in HK$) Photo 1/3: Photo 2/3: Photo 3/3:

The new 5KU mags weigh 630g and are said to not leak on Green gas. Is that a bolt stop selector switch? http://www.ebairsoft.com/metal-50rds-magazine-p-2377.html
-
Are there any metal bolts out yet? I thought all were plastic.
-
Haven't been to a game with the GBB yet, but so far everything's fine. I think you guys expect too much from a harder buffer. It's not thaaat much of a difference.
-
You mean this one? I found the stronger spring & buffer combo more effective for increasing recoil. How much more felt recoil, compared to the standard plastic one, does this alu speed buffer give you? Photo 1/1:

All GBBRs except maybe for the Inokatsu will explode to thousand pieces after the first shot of a live round.

You guys are awesome. This thread is so rich with valuable information. I will try the poor-man's power downgrade. Thanks MDK_Marshal for showing how relatively simple that can be done. Luis21, the magazine spring thingy is also nice and should solve the problem, it's a wonderful pictorial guide, easy to follow that you made, but I think I let my "gunsmith" disassemble the mags for me, I'm not a techie after all.

Wow, 1000 rounds and still works with only some jams. Sounds like it's as (un-)reliable as the real deal. Btw, an update of available spare parts/ accesories (all prices in HK$ plus shipping): Anti Rotation pins HK$60, Ambidextrous Fire Selector $80, Metal CNC Hopup Chamber $150, Valve Key $90, Plastic Bolt $95 Bolt Catch $70 Single QD sling mount $110 Aluminium Buffer $100 CNC Steel Seal $70 3-Teiliges Barrel set $280 Mags $180/each Replica of Trijicon ARD $180

Probably nobody is interested, but just FYI: The easy-to-break AGM bolt catch is available now as a spare part for about US$10 plus shipping. But I guess if yours breaks it would be better to go for a solid steel solution from another brand.
-
Man I am so sorry to hear it took so long. But hey good things need time. Yours may be the first actual and thorough review of the AGM. Been waiting for that. Thanks for taking the time to do that.

I can get you 3 mags including shipping for US$113.

I also do NOT have any issues with the second gen mag from AGM that came with the RIS version. Neither leaking nor swelling problems. The mag sits indeed very tight inside the mag well and seems not to fall out by itself when released, but that actuallly only adds to the overall sturdy and rigid feeling of the AGM. But given the inconsistent assembly quality of the AGMs, it's no surprise there could be some bad apples.
-
They sell the AGM mags in bulk now here in HK. A set of 3 AGM mags costs just US$69.
-
Really interesting, that's why I love Redwolf. They do a lot extra work for the customers, really dedicated. But anyways, I don't worry about compatibility issues as there are customized AGM parts already available that are just as dirt cheap and more parts are to come for sure. Metal hopup chamber, hopup rubber, various metal buffers, stronger recoil spring and RA-Tech's NPAS to name a few.

A friend is selling me his customized AGM M4 GBB, that's why I need to get rid of it.

Don't seem to be a common problem, mine has very tight fit of upper and lower. But I remember some G&P WOCs had this problem and someone solved it by adding an o-ring to the front receiver pin - hope that helps. That's how mine looks, very tight, no wobble at all, same with all other pins and the fire selector switch: Photo 1/2: Photo 2/2: (Grip pod wasn't included)

No problem, I'm just quite impressed myself and want to share the experience. Here's a new video showing the RIS version: name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src=" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>"> name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src=" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowsc

That's what the local shops here told me and if a couple of shops say the same, it should be reliable. Also, the mag that came with my first AGM was so terribly leaking you could even hear it hissing when filled with green gas. The mag included with the KAC RIS version remained silent. Will do more testing tomorrow.

My above photo shows the standard GI issue Knight's Armament RIS, not the fancy Daniel Defense one. Yes, the second gen mags are included with this KAC style RIS version and don't seem to leak. I suggest to not buy any AGM spare mags that you may see somewhere at the moment, they are said to be all first gen mags. Edit: Oh, didn't notice the inside actually has KAC markings, although I'm not sure if the real deal actually has them and in that place. Couple more pics: Photo 1/2: Photo 2/2:

Yeah, seen them in local shops here Hong Kong for dirt cheap. I have also seen the first spare mags here for just US$22, but I would refrain from buying them, because they are the first gen mags. The new second gen mags come with the RIS version and don't leak anymore. The RIS is made of metal and numbered and lettered but has KAC trademarks on the inside only. It's easy to disassemble and re-assemble. Besides the KAC wordings the inside of the RIS also features the AGM logo and some other instruction markings. Included are four rail covers without any trademarks. The lower part of the RI

That's very helpful. Now all you need is the G&P seal kit.
-
Funny, my VFC also had a fingerprint inside the housing. Seems to be their trademark. I chose the VFC because it looks most realistic although there are different version in real life, but the VFC is best in colour and details, e.g. has the blue screw on top.
