  1. Has anyone done a comparison of the TM vs HK PX4 Storm pistols? Has anyone run the metal slide group of the HK version on a TM frame to see how it functions? I probably use the TM PX4 more than any other pistol in my collection and even though it may not have the power of my TM G17 or Five Seven, it fits my hand super like a glove and has been quite accurate and very dependable. I can get a full HK upper for a very reasonable price, but I dont want to attempt it if I'm not going to get anything positive out of the combo. I'm also considering buying another TM or taking a chance on the full
  2. Which new TM is "cheaply built"? In the last couple of years I've bought 2 of the Five Sevens, a G17, a G18c, a Detonics and the PX4 and I've not had a issue with any of them. Now while I will agree that the Five Seven has had some issues, the only ones I've seen to have trouble are those that were used exclusively with Green Gas or Propane. This pistol was deffinately never intended to us those propellants (if its not in the operating manual-it's not recommended-period). Even Guarder failed to create a slide/frame combination that worked well. Slides still gave out and frame issues were a
  3. If you take a close look at the front of the trigger, you'll notice that it is wider and the cut into the trigger guard goes deeper into the area surrounding the magazine release.
  4. If the trigger on this Gold Cup is anything like the real steel, the 3 hole trigger might not fit well. If memory serves (it's been 20 years since I owned a real steel Gold Cup) the trigger is considerably wider on the Gold Cup as is the triggers slot that is cut into the frame. This was one of the reasons why they were not that popular for IPSC conversions. However, I do remember the trigger as being one of the best "out of the box" triggers I ever had on a 1911 style pistol. I think I'm going to have to pick one of these up.
  5. Does anyone know if there is a replacement magazine release or heavier release spring out there? Love the pistol but the mag release sticks out and I'm not satisfied with the lack of pressure needed to drop a magazine. I've not done it yet, but I've heard numerous stories of magazines popping out holstered pistols.
  6. Just got my hand on one of these yesterday. Build quality is very, very impressive. Very solid, and even with the magazine removed, it feels like you've actually got something in your hand. Finish is as good as everyone has stated and better than the pistols listed below. Compared this to my other TM purchases this year: G17, G18c and Five-Seven. All are super pistols and feel solid, but this PX4 just molds into the hand and points more naturally. Nice sights! Slide doesnt snap as nice as the Five-Seven (not many do), but still better than my old stand by the TM P226 (however, the new E2 m
  7. I have five of these CM.030's, one of which is from the first batch of V2's to get to the USA (maybe 4-5 years ago) and it is still working just fine. Other than cosmetic upgrades on one of them (rail system, holographic sight and flash hider on one of them), the pistols are all stock. They have un-told thousands of shots through them and are utterly reliable. The most I ever paid for one was $64.00. I also own the TM USP AEP and it is a really nice pistol. A bit more accurate and much more detailed (but its over 2 times the cost of the CYMA!). It took over duty as my main AEP. It also jus
  8. I bought two of these (and 3 spare mags for each) and I've put them away for the time being. While I've only used Duster in mine (with no noticed damage), all these problems are getting me annoyed. The unfortunate thing is the pistol is such a good shooter. Mine have been accurate and even at 260 fps with the duster, I'm still happy with the performance when used at average pistol range. However, I'm going back to my TM G17 (or my new TM G18c) and I'm even considering my old TM P226 as these pistols seem to be able to take a good amount of use without the problems so many are having with t
  9. Based on all the issues everyone is having with Guarder parts for this pistol (and I had major problems with one of their new G17 slides), I'd recommend that you pass on their products until they can get their act together regarding their quality control. You might want to check with E Hobby Asia and see if they have any of the actual TM parts you need available. On a side note, while I only use Duster in my Five Sevens, the various issues that are cropping up with this pistol has me concerned. I have also seen the wear on the magazine release and it is troubling as is the whole issue
  10. I'm ordering one of the kits that is set up for the TM but I'm going to see if it will work with one of my HFC G17's as I just put a new PGC slide on my TM G17 and It looks so good that I dont want to "hide" it inside the Hera Arms Kit (lol). It would be interesting to compare one of these kits all set up to one of the new GBB rifles that are out there and see how much of a major difference there might be.
  11. Just got the PGC slide for the G17 and it was a drop in and worked perfectly from the very first shot (unlike the Guarder that never worked). Looks good as well. I'm ordering the PGC G18c slide today. I'm thinking of a test comparing the TM G18c with my older (but in perfect condition) KSC G18c (plastic slide and completely stock). I was never able to get fully confident with the KSC as it was a supreme gas hog and even though well maintained, it was never very dependable in the field. While I've only had the TM G18c a short time, I've managed to put 1000+ shots thru it, in both semi a
  12. Just got my TM G18c Friday. Much much better than my KSC. I'm also using Duster with mine and finding it totally adequate (as I have with my Five Sevens, G17 Custom, Detonics, Desert Warrior and MEU). Pistol is just as accurate as my G17 Custom in semi-auto. In full-auto, the rate of fire is quite good, but I am finding that the range drops much quicker than my TM Hk USP AEP. Genome-did your PGC slide slide just drop in or did you have to modify anything? I bought a Guarder slide for my TM G17 Custom and it was terrible and I had to remove it. I've heard far better about the PGC.
  13. The GBB is definately NOT better in less than ideal conditions. Cold can create nothing but hassles with magazines and freeze up. Higher temps can cause pressure spikes that at the least can take you over the maximum for field use or at the most can damage the pistol. While the AEP may have issues with FPS, it has no issues in areas where the GBB doesnt get it done. It is more dependable and reliable and I can make that statement based on usage of both for several years. The number of AEP's I've seen fail on the field are zero. The number of GBB's I've seen fail (including my own), wel
  14. The straw-daaam I'm going to have to check that out. I never would have considered it.
  15. You should be able to get Duster almost anywhere now. Anyplace that sells computers should be carrying it. Office supply stores like Staples, Radio Shack and even drug stores like CVS, Walgreens and the like generally carry it. Last time I bought some from Staples, it was $7.00 for two 10oz cans. Lasts a pretty long time.
  16. Have you had any problems with the magazine "cool down effect" with your G18c? I've only had a chance to use my G17 a few times as it is new and in semi-auto, it didnt seem to be much of a problem. I only had the problem a time or two with my Desert Warrior and not at all with the Five Seven.
  17. I have been using duster in my TM G17, Five Seven and Desert Warrior this summer. It's been very hot here and I've been getting 250-260 FPS as well. I'm also finding I get a very large number of shots from each duster gas fill. Just ordered a TM G18c and will do the same with that as well.
  18. Third hand!! Probably had that problem before you bought it. I'm not BSing when I say I have several thousand shots through mine and this barrel problem has not been a issue in either of my Five Sevens. However, I do admit that I have greatly limited the amount of green gas I've used in them. From the look of that barrel and chamber, that pistol has had a major workout in its history. Did you know either previous owners well? If they knew this was a issue and why they were selling the pistol-well shame on them! I do have issues with TM regarding this parts breakage problem and TM shoul
  19. I know everyone seems to feel the need for green gas or propane, but have any of you tried using 134a or duster and letting the magazines warm up a bit? I'm finding some really decent performance with this set-up and I'n not worrying about the slide issues. With the magazines warmed, I'm finding that the range and accuracy are still as good as I had with the green gas and while the FPS has dropped to about 240-250, everyone I hit inside of 100 feet has still felt it without any difficulty. When the Duster is warm, I'm also getting a ton of shots out of every gas fill. Went to Staples y
  20. The O ring that comes with the MAG Barrel is the one that must be used at the other end of the barrel. You have to use the O ring that is on the Marui barrel for the muzzle end (it is smaller diameter and keeps the recoil spring cap from popping off. The MAG O ring is wider and is not made to keep the spring cap in place.).
  21. I've had 2 MAG Stainless Steel Barrels in my 2 TM Five Sevens for several months and have been shooting the heck out of them. I just disassembled both pistols and there is zero warping or elongation of the holes. I've heard that there might be some problems if you dont install the barrell corectly by not using the rubber O-ring that comes with the barrel. Apparently some believe this is a extra O-ring for the other end (muzzle end). It's actually a tiny bit larger in diameter and it's made only for the firing chamber end. This helps cushin the impact on the barrel as well as make it a tigh
  22. Is the polycarbonate slide any stronger than the stock ABS slide? I'm not that hung up about trades, just the strength of the part.
  23. While the sights are NOVAK design, they are completely different from the NOVAK sights found on the TM MEU. The Desert Warrior sights are actually more compact and use a completely different dovetail. Both offer excellent sight pictures, but they are different.
  24. Anyone else notice that these pistols get a ton of shots from a full fill of Duster or 134A? Granted the FPS is around 230+, but it's still a pretty impressive number of shot. Especially if the magazine is left to warm up after the fill. Like this pistol more every time I shoot it. Has anyone heard if that metal inner slide part has become available yet?
  25. MAG part# ART-OB-FN57 Stainless Steel Outer Barrel (I believe is also comes in black)
