I was going to say...the eye relief on the TA01NSNs is rediculously short.....The only ACOG I could see mounting that far forward like that is the TA11 series, they've got decent eye relief. With a real TA01NSN in that position, your cheek would have to be on top of the BUIS to get proper eye relief! Justin, I don't know where you're seeing real ACOGs placed that far forward, would you mind showing us?

Joe, your best bet is probably to check the real steel sites. I saw a complete heatshield w/ leaf sight on the AR15.com equipment exchange recently.

Replacing the receiver is no problem, it would work. I was just letting you know that those particular models had holes drilled through the magazine well to accomodate the mag block for the 9mm mags.

He wants to remove the 9mm kit, not add one. Luvs2shoot, the AEX 9mms have the pinned type mag block, so you'll have holes through your lower when you remove it....

Chinese?! No. Japanese. It's an Asahi Bushmaster. Not particularly based on any real weapon, as far as I know. Both pictures were taken at Comic Con conventions here in San Diego.

What do you think of the King Arms SPR-E mount? I've not heard any first hand accounts of it.

Just to prove you can bolt stuff onto an SR-25 just as much as you can an M4.... it it bad that I kinda like it this way? I think I'll replace the 551 w/ a 557 and put that 3x on a riser though.

It's not a S&B Short Dot. It's a Millet DMS-1. Similar concept, 1/10th the price!

Here's some shots of the gun with the finished rail system. I'm still deciding whether or not I want to put a EoTech 552 in front of the magnifier, or go w/ an aimpoint again. I'm definately going to do something about the "trademarks" though...they bug the ###### out of me! And the front of the rail system, just for you, kliskey! Proof that the rail panel isn't longer

You would think it's longer, but it's not! The side rails and the bottom rail extend forward around the front sight base like that. Kraut, it's a one of a kind rail system and outer barrel combo. They're both modified from CA pieces. It's not entirely finished yet, but I'll have more pictures when I get it completed.

Start with blacktop, then concrete, then fine sand. It's like different grits of sandpaper!

Paint the rest of the furniture to match the Emod. I like FDE more than khaki/tan....

And you're sure the slide/pump arms aren't catching on the shell latch(es) in the receiver?

Yeah, I know...but that's the way the metal body came. I should probably install a side mount plate to cover it up, or just fill in the holes, but hey, I've been lazy.

Did some more work on my AK....mostly on (one of) the mag(s), but rusted up the rest of it a bit too. Turns out mixing salt, Perma Blue, and a propane torch makes things much faster!

On the pump arms coming out of the receiver, have you tried disassembling like a real 870? I'm not sure how close the feed arm setup is on the Tanaka, but you would think they wouldn't reinvent the wheel....
