  1. The FG Airsoft Restrictor discs work inside the nozzle according to a few users on Facebook groups.
  2. Thanks. Yes it's the Madbull DD MK18 Rail and the AngryGun outer barrel.
  3. I recently uploaded this run down of the green gas mod, thanks to NugentGL and others for the pro tip! Also presenting my version of a block 2 sopmod shooter ;-) Enjoy!
  4. Cool man. Good job! Yeah it held up perfectly till the time I sold it on, I guess it's still going strong today. There was very little to go wrong with the mod if it's held on tight.
  5. Sweet. Didn't by any chance see my bolt catch mod on YouTube did ya? Looks like you routed it the other way than when I did it.
  6. The spring twang you're hearing is completely normal. Common on AR type rifles on account of the large spring within the metal buffer tube, even real steel. You won't accomplish more recoil by adding weight to the stock. Steel buffer is the way to go, I've not had experienced the Hephaestus buffer but I'm guessing it'll provide stronger recoil than the stock buffer. When I had the 417 upgraded with the steel buffer and stronger spring, the recoil was amazing! Strongest I've known from an Airsoft gun. But long term it can't be good at all.
  7. I always do. Anyway...., I've just got back in from a little night shootings. It's about 3 degrees C and I was testing a standard magazine versus a green gas modded magazine (silver tube removed). The standard mag shot off roughly 10 shots before it died out. The modified magazine emptied roughly 25bbs before it gassed out. They were both nice and warm, the standard magazine was filled to the top whereas the modified magazine only had about 10 seconds worth of propane. I was shooting erratically so as to recreate general skirmishing. I repeated the test with two modified magazin
  8. Excellent work. I tried this and got three loads of bbs to a single fill. However when fully gassed up it did begin to hiss from the release valve, tightened up a little and it's fine. Edit: Full auto suffers from this mod though, the whole action slows down as a result of the over gas pressure. Mine shot out nearly two magazines on auto but reduced rate of fire.
  9. I tried pulling it off, it's really on there! I didn't fancy cutting it.
  10. Wow that's interesting. Good work Upgraded valve would increase total shot count? Judging by the output valves small size, might it be compatible with aftermarket valves designed for some of their pistols? The TM has very few weak shots before it depletes the gas, however on WE/GHK would slow down, chugging away till it finally stops.
  11. It remains consistent even after 6 or 7 refills, magazine was cold and covered in condensation. I shot 54-55 every time, but there was a moment where I thought I got 62, but may have miss counted. You know on most gbb mags where once they're cold it diminishes the shooting capacity somewhat, this seems to cope alright. I'll test it outdoors this weekend. I'm filling up for a nice long blast and continued on for a few more seconds after it sprays up around the nozzle.
  12. I'm getting 55 shots total with a new tin of propane.
  13. A little update. Video of the magazine disassembly.
  14. BioRage: Yeah sure, I can do that. Someone asked about the bolt lock on the MWS with carrier to the rear and being able to slap the end of the stock to make it return forward like the GHK. Yes, this too is a thing on the MWS. No big deal really.
  15. Exactly right. The MWS feels so light and easy to throw around. Also yes, light mags which are at least £20 cheaper than GHK's. At that price one could afford more and not have overweight kit. But then it isnt perfect.
  16. I've managed to piece together the video. It has taken longer than I expected due to doing some home improvements which diverted much of my time. Mainly focusing on a comparison between it and the GHK M4. Although there isn't as much firing with the GHK, much of the light is shed upon Marui's new hotness, forgive me if I haven't touched upon a few questions that has been raised. All shooting has been conducted using Propane and I have yet to see a single issue with the MWS in doing so. I hope you all enjoy and could spare 15 minutes of your time to take a look at what I've put together.
  17. On the left side the selector markings appear very softly engraved. While on the right side appear more pronounced.
  18. On propane the MWS will empty the magazine on one charge of gas and perhaps have enough gas left for maybe 5 more shots if conditions are alright. On the GHK gg mag it'll do almost two complete mag fills on just one charge. That surprised me, I was kinda expecting similar results. Victory goes to GHK in that department. After firing nearly 1k though it, I've noticed that the (other than at a squeeze it'll hold 36 bbs) mag needs a long charge of gas for it to finish a full magazine. Failing to do so will result in it getting to bb 29 and be empty of gas. When running on full tanks the r
  19. Thanks! I had some time behind the rifle today. Bedding in the hop up mainly and putting holes in a box. Also comparing its efficiency to the GHK. Results are kind of surprising. Hop up dial sits just in front of the charging handle and clicks when adjusting making it superb at fine tuning. The inner barrel is indeed shorter. CQBR length by the looks of it. I'd imagine it'll take a longer inner barrel with no problems, I can't see anything that would hinder it. Oh and the forward assist works. Another thing to speak of is that they have included in the box an old fashioned
  20. Hi guys. I've waited for this rifle to be released for what felt like forever. Purchased from Impulse101 in Japan, this is among the first batch and I ordered 3 additional magazines which I was told will be sent in the next couple of weeks. I didn't mind that, just as long as I had TM's latest offering. I just picked it up this afternoon and I thought I'd share a few pics along with a brief first impression. Also comparison to the GHK M4. The usual snazzy (compared to a boring brown cardboard GHK and the like boxes) Marui gun box contains the well presented rifle.
  21. ;-D Cheaper than TAG warheads haha Redwolf have them in stock $18.30 each.
  22. Lil update. I was extremely lucky to have a buyer approach me, so I took that as a sign and let him have it. But before I let it go I compiled a final video outlining a solution to the problem I was having. An issue that has been unfortunately gaining popularity among more and more 417 users. It's kinda of a montage and I like montages ;-) Also after several hundred rounds shooting with the steel buffer, the only wear I had experienced (up until I sold it) was where the buffer took a little material off the inside of the upper as it drove the carrier home. Nothing worrying, wiped
  23. I got mine from a guy on the VFC HK417 GBB Owners Facebook group. I got the Custom Steel buffer, 140% Recoil Spring and 130% Hammer Spring. Mine started with the double feeds then after a while jams and venting. Apparently he's looking for retailers to sell those upgrades through, both in the EU and US as I understand it. Edit: Although my particular setup is less gas efficient, it definitely suits the nature of a 7.62 battle rifle.
  24. A+ Ramjet Valves are a must imo. Although difficult to find in stock nowadays I believe. Azimuth Hi Flow Valves for M4/416 work but the striker pin needs to be unscrewed (and loctited) to the length of the 417 valve pin for the striker to engage.
