  1. The O-ring is approx 9mm Diameter externally. Inside diameter is 8mm.
  2. I'll measure it up and post the size here.
  3. BY THE WAY The O-ring found on WE SCAR mags to prop the mag lip up by an extra 1mm or so happens to be the exact same o-ring as part 37 on the WE M4. It's the WE M4 Valve assembly set screw O-ring. I'm placing my order for several for all my remaining mags. Hope this helps!
  4. I've been looking everywhere I know for an RA-Tech NPAS kit for the Scar without success- does anyone know of a UK or European based retailer who sells them? Thanks Tony
  5. Try manually pushing the mag up against the gun to see if the blowback improves. test this a number of times. If manually pushing the mag in this way improves blowback then it very likely means the mag lip is not forming a perfect seal on the brass chamber- but I notice that you may already have investigated this from your post on 8th Oct.
  6. "This is my (WE SCAR) rifle. There are many like it (without issues/problems) but this one (turkey) is mine. " Unluck WE SCAR customer. I'm buying my second one- I've got a black one and now also want a TAN version. If they were all turkeys I would not own one much less two! They are a great product but of course there will always be occasional turkeys. However, given the very simple GBB mechanism there can be few causes that can't be sorted. I've had a similar issue with my WE M4 and it turned out that the valve that effectively regulates the FPS was loose. This meant that insu
  7. She looks great. What's the nade launcher?
  8. Same here. I've had a WE M4 since March this year and it's absolutely fine. Of course there will be some- the very small minority who will have problems and post here. This 300 page thread is a not a poll under any conditions I recognise. My WE M4 is AWSOME. Hard recoil, consistent FPS and a wicked rate of fire- scare the hell out of some airsofters!
  9. Afraid not. US Dollar rate is 1.608 That makes a WE CO2 M4 mag at £46 delivered- like I said a high price due to absurd delivery cost.
  10. $75 for a CO2 Mag? I don't think so. They charge an absurd $29 delivery.
  11. This thread is meant to be a review of the ARES CTAR21. There are clearly many posts about mods/enhancements/changes that people have carried out and most of whom (very naturally) have subsequent issues. If you mess around with a stock AEG, you will very likely have issues and problems- this is not fair reflection on the ARES CTAR itself. What I'm saying is posts about changes/mods/upgrades and subsequent problems should be in a seperate technical thread. I have a pure stock ARES CTAR21 and I've had absolutely no problems other than an absolute poo MARS sight, a motor that should hav
  12. OK- just to get this right (on my side!): Rotate the adjustment downwards if the bb is dropping too much in order to get the BB to rise to a level path. Rotate up to achieve the opposite. Is that right? Thanks Tony
  13. Does anyone know the answer? It's amazing that I cannot find on Google any one or any article that actually answers this very basic and fundamental question. I have issues with my Hop=up and can't tell how it's working- because it does not!
  14. I did fit an O-Ring as described- it was the very first thing I did but it got blown into the blowback chamber! I then looked at alternate solutions. It may be that I didn't use the right size but I'd be very interested to hear from anyone who has had a good result with the O-ring- then perhaps they can share the exact size used.
  15. OK. I have the same issue but only withy the SCAR. My Propane and CO2 mags work fine on my WE M4. I read on another forum about someone using three layers of insulating tape placed on brass tube. I've now tried this and it does work. I'm seeing a new rifle emerge. You need to (absolutely) ensure you eliminate any oil/grease form the brass tube area so that the tape will stick firmly and also position it so that the bold carrier does not knock in the the extra 1 to 1.3 mm extra height the tape introduces. I'm thinking about using cycle rubber tube repair patch to replace the ta
  16. In the UK, locally supplied WE SCAR rifles tend to come with the low-flow valve (in the steel nozzle) designed to provide approx 330 fps. If someone is is getting 460fps, then you very likely will have a high-flow valve.
  17. Does anyone know where I can buy WE SCAR parts like the lower receiver? I cannot find anyone selling SCAR parts.
  18. That is interesting- I have the same problem with my mags not sitting firmly enough up against the brass blowback chamber. I also have to hold the mag firmly up. However, it happens with my propane and CO2 mags which are not new since I use them with am WE M4 which I've had since March this year. The new (propane) mag that came with the Scar is OK but only because its lip is new - after a which it goes down a bit (with frequent usage) but should still provide a good seal (against the brass blowback chamber) as it does on the WE M4. I had to mod my mags by increasing overall mag height by
  19. TSI have had lots of interest in the replica MARS and they certainly are aware of how utterly rubbish the ARES version is. 'Proper' is something that actually allows you to see a red dot reticle in daylight, that the reticle is in fact a dot and not a splash of red hue and is useable for aiming your weapon. TSI have stated they are producing a replica that actually works properly- i.e. a proper red dot replica.
  20. TSI Armouries has produced a proper working MARS replica, I think for about US$125. However, I'm really pleased with the Eotech 557 which looks good IMHO
  21. Ebaybanned do an excellent Eotech 557 replica with a reticule bright enough for bright sunshine- I used it today and it's the best Eotech replica I used. I replaced the rubbish Mars sight on my Ares TAVOR with this. I've posted a picture at the beginning of this page http://www.arniesairsoft.co.uk/forums/inde...8463&st=220
  22. I've worked what the problem is. It's the mags (i.e. mag lips) not being sufficiently connected with the blowback chamber thus leaking some gas that should be used for the blowback. If I firmly keep upward pressure on the mag, it all works OK. So it could be the mag catch/release being marginally not low enough in the magwell or the mag lips not being tall enough to form a good seal with blowback chamber. I have no such problem with my WE M4. What I have done is to place a thin slice of shrink-wrap on the top edge of each mag causing about 1mm extra height on the mag. The mags now i
  23. I just got my WE Scar today. I have a problem in that with CO2 mags, the gun struggles to cycle. The recoil is at best half of what I get on the WE M4. The cycle action is so weak that the bolt won't lock back. With propane mag it's OK but not as strong as my AWSS WE M4 GBB. I tested the CO2 mag on my WE M4 and it rocks (i.e super fast cycle, hard recoil and very solid bolt lock-back after the last round) so the mag is fine. Also the FPS with the CO2 is 299 whereas with the propane mag (at same temp) yields 350 fps. I made sure I used brand new CO2 capsules. I have now tested the ri
  24. Yank the spring out hard. It is not mechnically attached to the piston- just a very tight fit. There is no MOSFET in the Ares Tavor and the bolt release also releases the spring tension. When you used the Tavor for the weekend, did you check this out?
