  1. Well the hop is very very sensitive. I mean like 1mm/ 0.5mm movement will have a significant effect. If you bear this in mind, you should be able to adjust the hop OK. My Ares TAVOR is VERY accurate and consistent- but only after I nudged the hope ever so slightly, like you could not see that it moved! The locking up problem is also familiar but I wouldn't call it a lock up as much as it is a failure of the gearbox to cycle. I think this is due to the crappy motor having poor torque characteristics. Since using an 11.1 V Lipoly battery, the 'lock-up' only happens after prolonged usage whe
  2. Currently, I think you'll only get a (very) broken one for £200. They are around £444 delivered. Are you any good with repairing AEGs? If so, then I think you may struggle to find one very broken TAVOR 21.
  3. Here's my solution to the VERY poo MARS sight. I fitted an Eotech 557 (the one with the side controls) without a rail riser. I found the rail riser made the iron sight unusable. In fact the Iron sight now works much better with the Eotech- the sight centre is just about dead centre of the Eotech optic and much clearer- perfect setup if the Eotech battery is down. Using the iron sight with the MARS was very difficult and does not really work in the heat of an engagement. The PEQ is an illuminator and Laser that's wired to the TAVOR's button on the foregrip so that I can now operate the PEQ
  4. OK. after using the Tavor extensively over a Weekend Milsim Combat Mission and another days FIBUA training I have to admit that in addition to the MARS site being poo, the mag catch is pure pain and embarressment. The Mag catch is so flimsy that that slightest brush with your hand or your webbing/ assault vest will drop the mag- this makes you look like a prize lemon. Anyway, the very evening I got back home from the training I was determined to fix the mag catch or I'd sell the Tavor. I fixed it by using an AEG spring- I cut off about 2cm and turned it into an oval shape so it could fit
  5. I've set up my sling as per pic below. Works really well.
  6. I think you have a good point. I'm beginning to think that perhaps I should just send the rifle back for a refund given that no warranty is ever going to fix that rubbish red dot site. I'm cheesed off at ARES who do not seem to give dot - or should I say a red dot. ARES - are you reading this feedback? Do you care?
  7. Umm. Well you can say that for every other part of the rifle and the logical conclusion is that you paid for nothing. Of course the MARS sight has been paid for. It may account for £10, £20 or some other amount. The correct amount I'd think is reasonable is the replacement cost (to the customer) of an equivalent working replica sight such as another MARS replica or an Eotech replica.
  8. My money went to the retailer. My relationshio is with the retailer and not with ARES but ARES needs to pay attention here. They should also get an account on Arnies and communicate on this issue just like TSI and WE communicate with its customers on Arnies. I want a working/functional MARS replacement or partial refund so that I can fund a new MARS replica sourced elsewhere or buy a replica EOTECH. Arrnies is one of the most (if not the most) important forums in the Airsoft community. Sales of the ARES Tavor will suffer as a result of the rubbish prop mounted on the ARES rifle and
  9. I've just come back from a long weekend of training and combat mission. The MARS sight is the worst piece of rubbish I've had the misfortune to acquire. To say it's a total waste of space is an understatement. It's a liability. You can't track or shoot at anything with confidence. You can't zero it is properly. In short it's not fit for any purpose to do with shooting anything. I'm contacting my supplier about it because it is not fit for purpose. You cannot see the (so called) red dot under sunshine conditions etc etc tec. I'm replacing it with an EOTECH 557 - the one with side button co
  10. Do you know about the Star L85A2? If you did you would have edited the 'rubbish' startement bit. Get a perspective- it's the MARS Red dot that's the problem. The gun itself is one of the most solid AEGs on the market- its made of nylon polymer (like the real thing) and with a gearbox, barrel and hop combo that gives amazing performance for s stock AEG. It's very well balanced and licensed by the real steel manufacturer- hardly a gimmick. It's a real replica and not a knock off best effort copy using rubbish poor quality materials. The TSI TAR21 is vapourware- have you seen a review
  11. Ask them to send it Hong Kong Post Registered Airmail. I got $20 off my postage today. Unfortuantely they use EMS Speedpost or should I say 'EMS SLOWpost at hugely inflated price' rubbish/useless service.' I have asked them to provide an option for EMS Speedpost or Hong Kong Registered Airmail. If enough of us ask we may get it as a feature option in the Checkout page.
  12. Same experience here. I need a new upper receiver but the distributor/ retail network does not seem to work. I tried all the Europeans and only one in Germany had the upper receiver but they don't take paypal or credit cards!!!!!!!!!!! Amazing that WETTI would agree to have a 'Authorized Sales/Parts/Service Center' that CANNOT take the normal payment methods- utterly useless. One UK retailer listed as 'Authorized Sales/Parts/Service Centers'- www.landwarriorairsoft.com does not stock any parts. They just sell rifles and have no intention of selling parts. Not very helpful if you have
  13. So what's the TSI Tavor like? Is it well built? Does it have a good balance? How did you get one so early?
  14. That's interesting. I thought it looked like it could be changed. Could you please describe how you did it? Thanks
  15. Mine works with: Classic Army Hi-cap= OK AGM Hi-cap= OK DBOYS Hi-cap= OK TM all=OK MAG brand- ABS in OD and in Grey= OK MAG Brand ABS Black H&K trades= OK ICS Hi-cap= OK STAR Low caps= OK Star L85= OK G&P Tracer Mags=OK I could not find an M4/M16 mag in my collection that does not work in the ARES Tavor. As for wobbling - well some of the above have a slight wobble as they do in other AEGs and real steel!
  16. My experience is similar. An ergonomic godsend and incredibly accurate for a stock weapon. The MARS sight is poo but the weapon itself is the most solid AEG I've ever had next to my STAR SA80 which is made out of stamped steel!.
  17. I'm a bit surprised about the criticism of the red laser. Red lasers are not meant for daylight outdoors- they are an indoors CQB sighting method. If you need to use a laser out in the open in daylight you need a green laser. So it's bit unfair to criticise the red laser in daylight. The red laser that comes with the MARS is perfectly adequate as a red laser. The red dot is something else though- poo comes to mind! However a red laser indoors/outdoors can be useful at night to momentarily point out an opfor position to team mates. I've had my ARES Tavor for a few days now and I have to sa
  18. I received my CO2 conversion kit today. Does anyone know if there's a guide on how to install it? Thanks
  19. Where? I can't see any trace of a WE GBB Scar-L for sale anywhere. I'v actually got cash set aside to buy one.
  20. Mine went with the hot weather- the tip snapped while shooting. I've ordered the 7075 Aluminium version from Airsoft Buddy for $47 plus shipping. I assume this is the real deal strength!
  21. OK. That's god to know. On some milsim weekends I attend there is the occasional river crossing. With an electric rifle being accidentally submerged, you can pretty much rule out that weapon for the duration. It seems that with a GBB Rifle, a quick field strip and simply draining it followed by firing it a few times (after re-assembling!) should clear it.
  22. Maybe because you're in a warm part of the USA? In the UK Propane GBB weapons are pretty much useless outside of summer. CO2 works well in cold weather due to its lower boiling point- i.e. what is cold in winter is pretty warm for CO2. CO2 Mags being released is good news. I'm placing an order for a few of these ASAP. When's the WE Scar being released?
  23. Wouldn't water in the barrel flow into the blowback chamber?
  24. I'm curious about what effect water has on the WE. for example, if it were submerged in water and then fired- could it clear itself after a few shots?
  25. Does anyone know when the WE SCAR GBB is being released? My paypal balance is beginning to spam me begging to be put towards a new WE GBB rifle Cheers Tony
