  1. Mine looked like this: I just just sprayed over it and stuck the velco over it. Pull the loose bit off. Don't see why you couldn't sand it or file it.
  2. RE: Batteries for Contour ROAM - go back 2 or 3 pages for a mod to fit any battery from and external source. Also ROAM is water proof out of the box (to 1m or something, enough for rain) HD is not. Of course you'd need to be careful if you fit an external cable...
  3. This fits "not too serious". Not 100% sure how the founders came up with the name but I believe it was in a pub...
  4. Thanks a lot man. Might be worth cross posting it to the technical forum since I am sure there are others would like to see this.
  5. Do you have a link to the exact charger? Did you cut/drill a hole in the back to get the cable in?
  6. Now that's a really good idea. Only downside of my ROAM is the low battery life (and lack of removable battery). I will have to think about that. It does look a bit of a mess but its a helmet not a bonnet. Functional is good enough.
  7. Yes that is true true but I would trust a 40mm washer and 6mm steel bolt just as much as the plastic rails.
  8. Good to know thanks. Any where in the UK stock them? But its another £15+... I'll think about it.
  9. Its mounted on a m6 bolt through the vents in the top to avoid drilling a hole. A steel washer each side and a nut on to keep it in position. Worked well enough yesterday but it is much like running around with a fish hook on my head (I like the mental image of that). I learnt to duck extra low after about 20 minutes of play but I think I shall mount it on the side. Worked well whilst I was in a hurry though and does give a nice wide angle shot mount way up there! --- The basic problem is that the sticky mounts it comes with don't seem to curve right for the shape of the h
  10. My work in progress. Was tan but didn't like the colour so made my first attempt at spraying. Its a clone from ebairsoft (pretty comfortable). Camera is wrapped in sniper tape. Not a great colour match but better than just plain black.
  11. Can't believe you nearly sold it to me. Glad to see you using it though. The working ejection port is really cool. The one you did sell me performed well last weekend though. First time I actually took it out.
  12. Sorry for the really slow reply. Thanks for the answer.
  13. Quick questions: What mounts does it come with? I would most likely put in on the carry handle - does that mount come with the sight? Cheers!
  14. Oh it was totally against my better judgement that I went out without lower face protection. I accidentally left it at home and I was not going to leave without a game because it was a 3 hour drive to the site. I didn't have a anything I could have worn and paid the price... ---- As for BB's shattering I've had that happen too. It got in my eye but an eye wash got the bits out. Guess I am just unlucky eh?
  15. Well with mesh there is a chance, no matter how low, that shards could penetrate. Not so with solid clear materials (excluding large scale tearing of the material of course but that would be a true penetration not shards). Also just because some has been doing something for a long time doesn't reduce the chance of it happening (to the 10 year comment). You must accept theres a chance of shards penetrating those ANY mesh goggles - low admittedly but a chance nonetheless. ---- I have read everything you wrote and they do look like nice glasses. Having lost a tooth to ai
