  1. redline,.....do the single o-ring steel nozzles have exactly the same size windows as the 2-oring nozzles? I only have 2 o-ring nozzles here. My buddies new gun came with that. The windows are too large I think. Again >seems< like a good idea, but its creating problems. The floating valve is sometimes shutting too fast becuse of the open area. (no power). Its erratic. His gun is exactly like you dscribed - fps is all over the map - swings as much as 300fps!!!! Switch to brass nozzel, gun fires like a champ. Notice that last week, AB took down ALL nozzles for sale
  2. Do you have the gen2 hopup and chrome barrel? All my problems with hooking went away with the new setup. (.28g bb's)
  3. No, absolutely not. I can trace this problem back to the new steel nozzles. They are >not< the same shape as the brass ones. Small differences throughout the design. My guess (and Im guessing) is that the new "2 0-ring" nozzles arent fitting well with the old brass cylinders. Or the floating valves arent seating well..... Or ???? One thing I dont like with the steel nozzles is the HUGE wide f_cking open "windows" that let the gas charge flow in. At first this seems like a great idea - no matter how the valve is rotated in the forward position, the ports are large and
  4. There are MANY people complaining of this and I have now witnessed it myself with a gen3 rifle. 500fps first shot, then the next pull, the bb just leaves the barrel, arcing to the ground after 25 feet!!! The next shot somewhere in the middle but NOWHERE near 500fps. Then a STRONG powerful shot. Then again, 100fps, just making 20 feet before hitting the ground. FPS all over the place, .......something is up with the new valves or nozzle, or ??
  5. ^ didnt you say you had a brass nozzle for me to buy?
  6. Switch bulbs every time you empty the mag. Once the bb's are gone, switch bulbs. Lots of work me thinks. Sticking with propane. My gun is nearly perfect right now with the new hop and inner barrel. Im done.
  7. You >really< need to pick the right hop rubber sleeve......they are so inconsistent. Ideally? You should just see the tips of the 2 bumps in the inner barrel - just peaking through. This will end up being the hop rubber which yields the best hop adjustment range - not overhopped and not underhopped. Also,...if the new hop rubber doesnt fit EASILY into the slot cut into the chrome barrel throw it away. The 2 nubs on the green sleeve should easily fit into the hole in the chrome barrel with NO manipulating or coaxing. If the sleeve isnt a perfect fit, go through a coupl
  8. So you have to change a CO2 bulb every mags worth of bb's? Eeeew. Thats lots of work. And is there any difference with the SHAPE of this new steel nozzle. I guess what I >need< to know is what is the difference between the '2 oring nozzle' and the 'single oring' nozzle?? Is there a difference in SHAPE? If so, how could this be compatible with older cylinders if the shape is machined differently?? OTTO
  9. Id gladly buy just the nozzle - are they complete? And are they 500fps? I guess it really wont matter - its the rod they attach to that decides the fps. Ill PM you. OTTO
  10. Any of you have BRASS nozzles that you arent using? I want brass not steel and have steel ones to offer in trade - high power please (500fps). I want nozzles or whole assemblies (attached to black tube)
  11. lol....lots of excitement here today, I just tuned in. Man.
  12. I realize, as it has been covered here many times. My desire was not to reshape it, but to test it. (with coarse grit sandpaper) It is quite durable. Thumbs up for the Gen2 hopup.
  13. The hop rubber is soft but durable. I learned this as I tried to sand one down. Very resistant to the sandpaper. After a bag and a half of bb's, I have actully had to turn the hopup down just a bit. Its well seated and the hop is stable. The only time its not stable is when I am running low on gas/power in the mag. This will usually overhop the bb. "Hopup>fps". Normal to see. What I cant believe is that the groupings are still tight on FULL AUTO. Usually, in most GBB guns, semi is tight while full auto scatters. Not so here. There is still room for improvement, but the
  14. ^ Brikklebritt. 516 to 124 fps in the next pull....whoa. There is something broken. Not normal. Have you tried different magazines? The gas valve might be junk (not releasing gas in a consistent way) Or the floating valve in the gun itself (inside teh nozzle) isnt seating or is broken. I would try the magazine swap first. Just a quick update.......3000 rounds through the new hop up and it works like a champ. If you are struggling with your new barrel and hop, hang in there. It will be well worth it, once you have it sorted out. Last comment - the green rubber hop ban
  15. Hi Cobb. You got it. The fit was first important. The fiddling that came later was mostly finding which bb weight and trying to find the sweet spot on the hop adjustment. I really wanted .25 bb's to work and spent a lot of time tinkering. No luck, I could never find the sweet spot. I switched out to .28 bb's and the sweet spot was found easily. I have not had to adjust the hop at all since (over 30 mags).......it is night and day better than the gen1 hopup. Giant PS.... Of huge importance - dont waste your time trying to install and adjust the hop if teh we
  16. *double post* Site is acting super flaky again.
  17. Eliminator-Just shot my 30th magazine. Havent needed to turn the hop unit up yet. Still very focused groupings. When the magazine is running out of gas, and the pwer starts to go down, the bb's will start arching upward. This is normal. I wish it was 90 degrees again today - Im sure it would be even straighter and more accurate with more POWER. Somegirls, yes, you really need to buy many green hop rubbers to get a few good ones. *NOTE - if the hop up rubber doesnt want to sit in the hole in the inner barrel, thats your first sign to throw it away. You will have
  18. 4boost- I >wish< I had that metal grommet. I slid a rubber oring over the inner barrel and pushed it in there before I put the flash hider on. Inner barrel is now stable. Well.......here is my results for the new chromed inner barrel and hop up design. WE quality control - and inconsistency between parts - is going to be a problem for the masses. You will hear/read wildly different reviews of this new hop system based solely on people getting bad parts. Every one of these green hopup rubbers I have is different. You have to "hand select" the right one. Sort of tough if y
  19. I feel for you Redline - I just got my big order from William at Airsoft Buddy. Everything is an issue. I bought the new chrome lined inner barrel - it comes with a green hop rubber installed. I ordered a couple spare rubbers too. Good thing I did - EVERY GREEN HOPUP RUBBER IS A DIFFERENT HEIGHT. The one that came on the barrel wouldnt fit properly in the hole (in the barrel) and stuck WAY inside. No doubt this would have been way overhopped again. The other 2 hop rubbers were lower profile and barely stuck through when viewed from inside the barrel! Of
  20. ^ Thank You Wraith. Really guys, I want to perfect this gun like you all. Its a good, good platform.
  21. Ugh,.... No,....Im not saying mate a "pistol part" with the WE! I linked to the NAME "loading muzzle" to illustrate that it is indeed what this part ("nozzle") is actually called in any gas blowback design. THANK YOU CHRIS for understanding what I meant. ("buffer the nozzle tip with a spring" - why not?? Western Arms does it already) I spent 9 years of of my life giving quality thought to this problem in GBB design if you include my old SHOEIS - the loading system knocking the bb too far down the breech. The >only< reason I stay with the WE platform is because they
  22. Thats what its called. Guarder enhanced Loading Muzzle - linky. Part #44 is a brass loading muzzle ("nozzle").
  23. Hi Chef Thanks for the thoughtful posts. My gun without the hop rubber installed will not hold a bb. After a burst, point the barrel to the floor, and "tick tick tick" a bb rolls out and bounces on the floor - everytime. My chamber also has thousands of rounds on it. Does this matter? Probably. Also some of the replacement chambers were tighter than others - reported by users here. Different lots manufactured by WE. But all that aside - firing one single burst in a controlled environment, then diassembling for photographs isnt the real world unfortunately. The chambe
