This is turning into a "show your USP Match thread".....and here I am to join in! With the advent of System 7, I have been taken aback with the increase in recoil and general performance including a distinct lack of cool down when rapid fired. First thing was to fit a silver metal slide to match the good Lady Crofts pieces; Shooters Design to the rescue. Okay, I admit it, if it wasn't for the Lara Croft/Tomb Raider movies I probably never would have bought this.....or those high cut hot-pants and tight vest....*ahem* I found that because the right hand side of the Ambi slide

COBRA 1911 Movie Links: Sylvester Stallone's 1986 movie has a lot to answer for. "Look at that 1911 with the Cobra grips!! Look at that weird sub machine gun (Jatimatic) with laser sight!" His Colt Government Gold Cup National Match with 9mm conversion slide unit was the star for me. At the time of the movie Colt had just released the conversion kit for the Government to convert the .45 to a 9mm. The conversion kit contained a slide assembly, recoil spring set etc. The question is; did the movie armourer decide to use the 9mm conversion kit for ease during filming

Thank you for the parts list and the info. I've had an order shipped by Prog4 (not for the Tiki ), and I'm mighty impressed by their service.

WWJKC - more procurement and build information on that beautiful Tiki please!

Racing Maniac and WWJKC - great looking Infinity's there!

Chris, when it's a gun as classic as the M1911 you can't go wrong; whether it's aged or contemporary pictures Personally speaking, I prefer the 'normal' colour photos for detail. Keep on snapping, they're nice photos and it's always great to see the early 1911 up on this thread

Cheers bud, those are ones I've had for a while. Total number? Less now I've sold about 5 off recently I reckon about 15 full metal currently and a couple of OE that are waiting for Prime to do a metal kit for, or I've lost interest in One day I'll do a group shot and I'll know for sure.

Fancied a change, took the Ivorys off: WA SCW2 Colt M1911A1 with PGC metal kit ....and with the M1911A1's older brother, WA SCW2 Colt M1911 with Prime metal kit

Thanks Ronin, I'm all for splurging but sadly BoomArms don't have any more Bob Chow kits, I asked about 6 months ago, then again a month ago! They also tell me that there are no plans (for Prime) to make any more due to "special tooling needs". I wish they would put "out of stock" on the website to stop me getting my hopes up Those other GIN and KIM Chows from a couple of years ago were very limited edition, they only made 50 of each!
-
Very nice indeed. It's great to see a Chow with the metal kit, and it's built from the rarer 1.5 too! I couldn't make up my mind as to whether I wanted the Bob Chow kit and by the time I had decided I wanted one, they had sold out - D'oh! >_<, so I am very jealous indeed........and yet happy for you at the same time

No it won't fit sadly as it's an it's an SCW1 kit, (notice the frame cut for the SCW 1 firing pin). The sights are separate, but the front sight is a sort of disc with a couple of pegs that sits in a slot the slide thus becoming the semi circular profile of the "A1" front sight, tricky if you want to change it - unless you make your own

Ah, a man after my own heart Many congratulations on your acquisition. Ditto........ Grips are from Esmeralda - phenolic resin ivory.

The recoil spring plug's an exact replica of the original WA part but machined from good quality lightweight aluminium instead of the original HW metal. I had it made simply to help bring the weight of the 7" gun down towards that of a 5" to further improve cyclic speed and gas comsumption; especially in the cold.

Thanks. This ones mine, and a keeper There have been some changes though, since I last posted pics. I have had two other metal AMT's through my hands but these were built for friends.

Barrel Comparison: PDI 6.01 vs. First Factory 6.03
Mobius Strip replied to RSP1's topic in Tactical Equipment and Accessories
Very interesting read, I look forwards to seeing the chrono results too, although I think we all know which barrel will 'edge' it. Thanks for taking the time to post your findings -
Yup, I know - full auto performance is all I have asked about......so far I look forwards to seeing the fps and accuracy results with the longer barrel.
-
Gah! Oh well, thanks for the info.

An excellent review. Thank you for taking the time, and putting in the effort. Now set that thing to AUTO and go and fire off a whole mag in one go and let us all know how bad the cooldown is.....or isn't (hopefully)!

Hi Terence - The "Bulldog .45" was released on March 16th 2002 The 3.9" "SVI Tactical Carry" was released on November 16th 2002 Please note there isn't really a Tactical Carry Bulldog, only the bigger brother carries that moniker, even though I think we can all see the family resemblance Hope that helps Matt
