Initial Impressions of the TM SOPMOD M4 AEG
Number5 replied to Gunfighters808's topic in Rifles (AEG)
These things will fly off the shelves! Be honest with yourself, you know they will. If I had the money Id get one, but I dont. To be truthfull though I would much prefer, as Elaniba says, an A1 or A2 reciever than a magpul/vltor or what ever it is. Anyway, if they sell well, they'll make more and the price will drop. -

I think either Echigoya or tokyo model company make them and have them for sale for 8900yen (or something close) They were custom made but as i understand it they were reliable. As for factory made versions I dont know. But its only a matter of time. -

Richard, You may know the answer to this, or anyone here. As Im planning my SPR build with the socom, Im planning to use a 467mm inner barrel (TB of course, but I'm also strangely curious about the new Falcon 'rifled/grooved' barrels) Will I need to do anything such as 'port' my cylinder? or any other gearbox changes to run a 467 mm inner?? Or will the stock parts be fine? Cheers J. -
Classic. haven't read a post worthy of one of these in a long while.... LOL

A 9.6 v batt should be fine, seen alot of people using them. Plus it will be about the same as using a 7.4v lipo ROF wise. -

Ok, so after much uming and Ar-ing over my next Build, I've decided to build a TM EBB based Mk12 Mod 1 SPR. There reason is that my 12.5" madbull Ris 2, although I love it, I just cant get the outer barrel to stop flexing. it doesnt wobble but i can exert movement on it and I have banged it whilst skirmishing so Im guessing eventually it will do damage. I know an SPR has a free float barrel too, which is longer, but Im hoping the connection between the gas block and the upper will negate the wobble to some extent and that I will be able to get a barrel nut, or use the original, which will -

I guess it wasn't very clearly worded... What I meant to say is; with the c clip being apart of the outer barrel setup does it feel more solid than the OEM part which is 2 separate parts? Or is the difference unnoticeable? -

With the C shaped clip installed has it improved how solid it is at all!? Can you tell when its tightened? or is it un-noticeable? Piggeh, good find! I should really search Fire-support alot more. J. -

As the lock back parts in the gun are mostly 'Free moving' and have very little in themselves which provides tension I think the spring in the magazine (the one which lifts the little black tab of plastic when the mag is empty) would need to be stronger to make the bolt lock function both quicker and more positive. the reason the bad leavers dont work is probably because of the extra weight and the mag empty pring not being strong enough. Although i could be completely wrong... -

Richard, you sell m100 an m90 springs for the sopmod, but what would you say the original spring is? M80 perhaps? -

Richard, if I'd known you were the I would have said hello! Plus I was on the task force side so would have been shot to *suitcase* if I'd have gone to pmf regen! (as it was we tried several times and got nailed! Stupid place to put objectives next to the regen of 100 enemy players!) It was a good weekend overall but had some flaws... I'm sure they will be done to death on the organisers forums! As to the point in hand, tm vs clone, I guess the real tester, as always, will be the test of time and to see which performs best for longest. Myself I'll freely admit I'm a bit of a snob when -

Used my TM Socom all weekend...Lets just say, it wont be for sale! -
It really should have a disclaimer! And i would recommend anyone who is thinking of buying this platform to read the entire thread (There are a few posts you can skip through) on the whole, very informative and persuasive I dont even own this rifle yet and I think I love it more than my Marui SOCOM! I've been promising myself the new TM Scar L for some months but that may have been trumped at the last. Hopefully it will take away the bad taste I have in my mouth from previously owning a WE m4 aswell. If anyone on here is going to Copehill down Fibua this weekend then look out for some

G&P Delta ring's are a straight drop in. work fine, no shimmign required. Also, I've been running a Madbull Mk18 Ras 2 (M4 length) for a while now, was also a straight drop in, required about 5 of the shims though. -

Anyone know if/when the black version will be available? I'm pretty desperate to get hold of one! I read on Marui's site that the Black version will be released on 16th March and then put back to the 30th March, obviously there having a tough time in Japan at the mo so I can appreciate any delays that they have and I think we all understand that airsoft is pretty much tha last thing on most peoples minds! But at the time or writing I cant access Marui's site, dont know if its my internet or problems with their site? anyone else able to get on? Sorted, was my browser! I read tha -

Honestly mate I've been sat thinking about this for a good few minutes and the only thing I can think is it's either: a) the bar from the hop arm which has somehow come lose or just a left over piece of 'flash' from the manufacturing process thats been left in, or, has fallen in only to subsequently fall out. I know thats not helpfull but it may put your mind at ease abit, especially seeing as though the RIF still works! -

I wouldn't mind one of those uppers if the price was a bit lower id snap it up! Would actually like a regular style upper, want to make a shorter barrelled upper setup so I can have a quick swap out feature from a longer m4 to shorter. ASPA's look good also. Richard, how much can you get the upper receivers for? -

Has anyone thought about, or tried, converting the sop mod/socom mags into 20 rounds magazines? I find myself more and more drawn to building a DMR from a sopmod platform or one of it's derivatives. And the shorter mags would be a big benefit when going prone. I know I could use a freedom art magpipe and regular 20 rd mags, but Id prefer not to lose the bolt stop function. Also, I received the eagle 6 x2 recoil spring today. Fitted it to my socom straight away. I have a few concerns though. Although overall recoil doesn't feel noticeably increased (only a heavier recoil weight would achiev
