    "Jungle style" mags

    gallery_17063_1467_121867.jpg

My newest AR build... its a real franken-carbine. No real effort was made for a super-specific AR-15, it just has elements of a late model AR-carbine, with the longer moderator, early-model A2 receiver (full fenced, brass and forward assist, and A1 style sights...), and A1 grip.

Real steel AR carbine length hand guards... tight fit, probably going to have to throw a lipo in there, which is something I'm a little bummed about.

Other than that, I'm pumped about it. I'll throw up a pic with all three of my AR's once the rest of the parts for my other two "tacticoooool" guns come.

  2. Got a pic of my Glock with the homebrew smokecap attatched. Cycles perfectly with the RS recoil spring. I think I might put one in my P226.

And a blurry pic of the residue from the PFI powder.

RS recoil spring = real sword spring or real steel?

It seems unbelievable that a GBB would able to cycle fine with the high tension springs of a real glock...

I gotta try that out for giggles.

  3. Any Heroes fans out there? Tiki sighting on latest ep (or at least it looks like one). Go get 'em, Claire!

They LOOOOVE 2011's on Heroes. I just started watching season 1 and aside from Nicky/Jessica's USPc and various hitmen weapons, the most prominently featured handguns in the show are all STI racing type guns. It has made me develop a taste for them... but I don't think I want to blow the dough on the gun I know I'd want to build...

  4. Punky, is that one of those chinese 3-shooters?

I have a dire feeling that will be my next purchase, probably the folding tactical you have there.

How do you like it? Does the plastic construction detract from it in a big way?

  5. Is the only live ammunition you have .40cal? I don't mean to be a nag, but this is the second time you've posted pictures of .45 cal replicas next to some .40 cal rounds...

Not to say both guns weren't beautiful, because they were. Great looking USP...

  6. JLS Beretta RX4 shorty SD

11.1V 1300mAh lipo fits in the shortened front handguard. I also made preparations for wiring the battery to the stock, but scrapped the idea in order to keep it simple.

Utty, that is one of the more original AEG's I've seen on this board, period. The paint, the chop, all very different. I definitely appreciate what you've done there. Do those things take standard TM type AR mags?

  7. Yeah seriously, Pmags, MIAD, Oakley Gloves, FAST mag etc... Wonder if its coming from the pocket and the city allows things like that, or whether they one hell of a budget.

    TAA

Could be a third option... there are TONS of government grants available for law enforcement agencies in terms of arming officers with more capable weaponry and equipment. Most of them revolve around distributing ex-military surplus around to agencies in the needs (i.e. the California Highway Patrol uses surplus M16's from the US Army on a lend-lease basis), but a few involve cash to be appropriated towards modern arms.

But my guess is still personal purchase.

  8. That is the gucciest cop I've ever seen. Any idea what city he's from?

Given the loads of magpul accessories on his gat I'd say its some department that allows for personal purchase accessories or even complete firearms, which some departments are moving towards almost entirely motivated by internal pressure from officers/deputies who just want to gucci out their s###-hitting-the-fan gun.

  9. Uba, toyish or not, it looks great on an AK. Seems a bit more appropriate then the fakedot I was going to put on my 74U... and at that price...

    Thanks for the info.

And nero, your AK74 looks great... nice subtle weathering!

  10. I know this isn't much but i love my TM 1911 and I had nothing better to do :P After almost 2 years of service it's still kicking and I wouldn't trade it for anything. So here are 2 pics to do it some justice.

    The day I got it.

    http://i303.photobucket.com/albums/nn142/e...22/DSC01331.jpg

Maybe a month ago. I ground down the mag release after loosing 2 mags in one day .... killed me. After I took the pic I textured the mag release with a checker patter and painted it black.

My stock TM 1911A1 is by far my most reliable and accurate GBB I own. I might enjoy fiddling with my metal slided TM G17 and Tanaka M29 more, but when I have to go into a skirmish, the only gun I trust enough to work every time has been my 1911.

Your finish seems to have worn far better then mine... all the "parkerize" has worn off much of the frame and slide from handling. The resilience of TM finish's is really my own complaint with them.

My positive experience with the 1911A1 may encourage (force) me to buy an MEU in the future...

And I agree about the hard plastic holster. Uncle mikes makes a low-cost kydex drop leg that works great, and I'm a big fan of Blackhawks! SERPA series for both airsoft and real steel.
