Good enough for me.
Thanks.

Hey guys.
Seems like a good place to ask.
Is the Leatherman Raptor fully, no quibbles, no confiscations, UK carry legal?
It is basically scissors. It has a belt cutter and a glass breaker but that's it.
I'm thinking it is something I can carry all the time and just have the Spyderco Atlantic Salt at work.

Wouldn't you use median image merge to do that?
Remove people I mean?
-
Yeah, it sucks.
You're right.

A single knife wound is more likely to be fatal than a single gunshot would.
It is also silent.
It is also potentially more intimidating. With a gun your options are "shoot or don't shoot".
With a knife your options start with "hold it to the throat" and progress via "name carving" and "partial flaying" through "toe cutting" into "disembowelment" and then "brain stem stab".
Gives you more options.
That's why people (who write the laws) are frightened of them.
However, it is silly, you can make a knife by sharpening anything hard.

It seems that in terms of puns you are a bit of an elusive menace.
Almost ghostly. I can't think of the right word.

Lightsabre?

Easy to tune my sweaty *albartroth*.
I have been all over this thing today, I have had to trim some material off the lips of the hop rubber and remove material from the inside of the hop unit.
It now works outside the gun, science knows what will happen when I stick it back in there.

Gun is all back together with an R-hop fitted, got enough rounds through it to confirm that with a 363mm Orga 6.23mm barrel, red nozzle and Amped purple poppet I am getting 277fps with a .28g tracer at 110psi.
That is exactly 1 joule, ideal.
However, it will now not load at any dn setting.
At all.
I am angry and confused and I am giving up, I will get back on it another day.

I have here a picture of my botched job of fitting the S2 banjo:
It fits fine though, it's just ugly.
Also, if you are having trouble finding the appropriate Imperial allen keys to work on your Polarstar gearbox then you might like this top tip:
Just use Torx drivers, they are tapered so you can push them in further to get them to bite.
Awesome.

Amazon Prime trial.
Delivery on Sunday!
I will not have my plans messed with Dremel, from hell's heart I stab at thee.

Yeah, I can find one online easily.
I just wanted it today. The UAR should arrive before Wednesday.
-
I would be done already but there is no way I am paying Dremel prices for a rotary tool.
Why are there no big stores that stock non-Dremel rotary tools around here?
I tried The Range, Wickes, B&Q, Homebase, Aldi, Wilko and Argos. Nothing.
-
I thought it would be bad.
I'm going to butcher it with a drill and files.
Milling later if I knacker it.

APS UAR ordered.
The S2 Banjo does not fit in the V3, not even slightly.
I will have to remove a lot of material to get it to go in. I'll do that tomorrow and do before and after pics of my soon to be mutilated P*...

If anyone reading this is considering getting a P* then consider this:
I bought some P* gear from Amped Airsoft 2 days ago and it is here now.
It actually took Grange Airsoft in the UK longer to get my parts to me than this.
That's service.
Damn.

Update:
I have got a buyer for the MAR so I am pulling the P* out of it and I have ordered some junk from the USA.
Amped Airsoft has some great stuff.
I ordered:
Their Purple low flow poppet to improve efficiency
A shim kit to adjust it as necessary.
An S2 lightning banjo, also for efficiency but it will allow me to have shorter dwell times and therefore increase ROF.
An APS UAR conversion kit to allow the gearbox to fit in an the UAR.
A red nozzle for experimentation.
A grip connect system to fit a hard air connector point to the rifle.
Some lube.
A Polarstar patch to show everyone that I am a superior airsofter ;-) .
The world's biggest speed loader (seriously, the Umarex SL-14. It's mahoosive).
I also ordered 5 PTS EPM magazines (Amped Airsoft only had 5). They are stupidly expensive but apparently they are worth it.
If they don't feed fast enough I will be putting the HSA REMF modified followers in and the Vaneras upgrade mag springs in them.
Shouldn't be a problem then.
I will investigate building an upgraded tracer unit with some kind of micro controller, apparently you can do good things with Arduino or similar.
Anyway, those bits will come at some point and I will buy a UAR next month.
I'll continue to update when I do that.
-
Thanks guys.
The problem with mag tracers and hop tracers (I have tried both) is that they are even less good with rof than normal tracer units.
The mag ones don't work at all on single shot since the BB loses its glow before it even makes it into the hop and the hop ones aren't bright enough to charge the bbs at high rof.
At 35rps 210mm of bbs go past the hop in one second, each one isn't adjacent to the led for long enough.
I already have improved springs and the 3D printed upgrade followers so the mags are at their limits already.
I will sell the MAR if I can get enough or put a Chimera MOSFET in it if not.
I think I will switch to an APS UAR for playing. Mostly because it upsets a lot of people just by existing.
-
I had to cap it at 35 due to the mags being a bit poor.
I'm going to transplant the whole thing into a different gun and try M4 mags.
Should get between 40 and 50 at reasonable power.
The other option is to try modified Magpul AK mags.

Me too, I bought them at the built-in shop at The Mall, Absolute Airsoft I believe.
They are branded Nupro diamond grade.
They performed very well with exceptional consistency and fed well even through my annoying King Arms Midcaps.

It's been a while but I have an update.
I have been using .28g tracer at about 278fps, this thing is ridiculously accurate even with a tiny barrel.
It is a bit obnoxious but I was able to shoot a 20mm torch out from 30m with my first shot this weekend.
The torch was placed on the ground in a darkened basement at the mall to give concealment to the other team behind it, I consider it a valid tactic to shoot it. You may disagree.
The player who placed it there hopefully understood that it was a possibility.
The entire day was typified by accurate first shot fire and rapid suppressing fire in single shot.
The only time in the whole day I used full auto mode was to demonstrate the rate of fire to a marshal and that wasn't fired at a player.
I built this weapon system to adhere to my doctrine of deliberate, aimed, short, high-rof bursts and in a delicious twist of irony it has turned me into a single shot user.
Now onto a problem I have been having, not with the P* but with the stupid, cheap (I know), Chinese (l know), decanting whip I bought.
The pressure relief valve in the decanting whip I use to transfer compressed air from my 12l 300bar SCUBA cylinder to the paint ball cylinder I use to power my P* is borked.
You can't unscrew the connectors from either end if there is air at 300bar still in the hose.
You need to relieve the pressure.
To do so you press a button and the tiny amount of air in the hose leaks out and you disconnect the smaller cylinder.
On mine you press the button and it *suitcases* out half an O ring, the rest of the O ring then jams into the bleed hole and the air leaks out over the next 20 minutes.
at that point you can disconnect the cylinder, rebuild the pressure relief valve with a new O ring and play airsoft.
It does this, first time, every time. As reliable as the P* is, this thing is unreliable.
It's astonishing.
It is this one:
Do not buy it, it is utter garbage.
It'll cost a bit over double but get one made up by a SCUBA parts supplier or ask me to do it.
I have a decent source for the parts now.

Love that dog.
Grenade is nice too.

I was doing an Akbar joke. I think it was funny.
However.
Haha, the camera on your phone could be better at macro shots.
You're a terrible person.

Sounds good but I'd need to see pictures.
You should put them in the... Wait.
