  1. They would seem to be the same knife ;), same design materials, build quality etc.

Clones, lol. Seriously, Mtech are meh at best, and do just copy other designs.

    Moriquende, I still hate you. Stop making me want new blades ;___;

Newest addition. Not something I'd usually go for, but it was marked down a lot, n I'm growing to like it. Suprisingly well made imo.

  2. Epic.

Rocky, despite being a Chocolate Labrador, is as daft as a brush. He's just under 2 years old and still thinks he's a puppy. He may end up coming to The Uprising with me if I can't get a dog sitter.

Most labs I've known refused to settle down for years :P Mine's older, still utterly nuts.

Max on the right, Ozzi (mate's lab) on the left. Max is six, iirc, and I think Ozzi is about a year old

New people would know when she'd accepted them as she'd headbutt their leg when she wanted fuss.

Max does that as well >=3 Gawjus dogs mate :)

  3. That's usually ones first reaction to highend knives and it's often follow by "OH,*suitcase* BLOOD!". :D

Aye, you wouldnae believe how many times my mates have cut themselves when looking at my latest acquisitions. Best was a few years ago, and my sister's then b/f ran his thumb straight down a blade to test the edge. *fruitcage* tard.

Once again, making me want things. Damn you Moriquende :P I have a depressingly long shopping list atm, and none of them are cheap blades :(

  4. dannyboy, if youre blueing the steel parts on your M3 (although i dont know what parts are metal on these), you should paint the furniture a wood effect, to give a sporter look. lose the pistol grip aswell. possibly get into detail such as a gold trigger, and polish/paint the bolt, things like that.

Been trying to lose the pistol grip for some time now. Not quite given up, but getting there -___- Love the look, but have had three break on me. This is how it looks currently. Heatshield, mag tube, barrel and choke will be getting blued, as will the bolt. Not sure on wood furniture, but I'm considering it. Would probably end up stained though.

Receiver is pretty much the only bit that'll need painting.

  5. You'll find your link also goes to PBS kids. Ah, I'd forgotten about that. Gotta love ASCUK <3

Right, so I need to paint my M3. All the metal bits are getting blued, but obv I can't do that to plastic. Any suggestions on what colour/make would look right?

  6. Hi everyone,

I was inspired by alot of the TM M3's with 870 full stocks people have posted on here so I decided to mod one myself. The main problem was I don't like to modify my guns in any permanant way, partly because I don't like hurting them :( and partly because I like versatility - I do like the full stock but I still like the pistol grip and wanted to be able to switch between them - this meant modding without the use of epoxy putty or glue or any chopping of the gun itself.

    Here's what I started with:

and here's how I've ended up:

    http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a209/Spo...st/DSCF0845.jpg

and the grip and full stock are still totally interchangeable - the full stock has been dremelled inside and at the grip so that it fits nicely on the gun and it is all held in place by an original Tokyo Marui M3 Super 90 Full Stock Bolt (33cm long), ordered from UNcompany, which runs through the rear buttplate and through a small aluminium tube (provided with the full stock and then cut to fit). I'm really pleased with the result, its very solid and I think it will stand up well to skirmish conditions. I can change between pistol grip and full stock in about 5 minutes.

and here is a desription of how I did it that I sent to dannyboy upon request:

Ok, assuming you got an identical set of kit as me you should have; the stock, a buttcap with rubber buttpad, a long screw, a small aluminium tube and a little sockety thing wrapped in tape.

Whenever I mention cutting, dremmeling or filing I suggest you secure the part you're working on in a vice or workbench and obviously if you're dremelling wear goggles and a mask - inhaling plastic dust or getting a dremel head in the eye is not fun biggrin.gif)

You're not gonna need the socket thing with tape or the screw. The rubber buttpad is held on by two small phillips head screws which are accessible through some small holes if you need to get it off.

What I did was take everything off so I just had the stock, then I carefully tried to get the stock onto the gun as far as it would go and had a look to see what areas inside the stock were obstructing the gun and preventing it from fitting flush - once you've established this you need to dremmel the heck out of it - I can't really advise on how to do this you just need to carefully wear away at it and keep trying to carefully fit the stock flush until it will work.

Once you've done that get the aluminium tube and cut a section off it about 8cm long (use a small hacksaw), file the ends down nicely.

Get the plastic buttcap (without the rubber butpad attatched) and you should see it has two holes inside it (at the smaller, more 'tapered' end), dremel the middle (lower) hole downwards (and by that I mean if the other hole is 'up' you want to dremmel downwards, ie away from the other 'up' hole) about half a centimeter so that its more of an oval sockety shape than a round hole - what you're doing here is giving the bolt that will hold the stock in place more downwards clearance to reduce strain on it.

Now you can get your Benelli M3 Super 90 Full Stock bolt and put it through the 8cm aluminium tube with a small washer on the bolt at each end of the tube - feed the bolt through the hole you dremelled in the buttcap so that the tube is inside the buttcap and the end of the bolt sticks out where the grip is - feed the end of the bolt into the hole on the gun and push the stock and grip onto the gun so that it fits flush, then tighten the bolt fully from the buttcap end with a phillips head screwdriver, finally, put the rubber buttpad on and tighten the screws

Sadly they like to break. Still working on an alternative myself. Kenworth, ask Candyman, reckon he should be able to do it.

  7. cutting surface is a little to short for me, also, the blade isn't really beefy enough for what I'm using it for.

If you don't mind me asking, what are you using it for? Having played about with it a bit now, I'm impressed with mine.

Thats the Seal Pup? Ok it is the Seal Pup

When didcha get it! I've always love SOGs and CRKTs.

Got it same day I posted pics. Always one of the first things I do when I get a new blade. Keep thinking I want another CRKT, but there's not really any others I'm overly fond of. Might have to pick up another sting. Hmm. There's other knives higher up the list though.

    :zorro:

  8. Yeah, the SOG is definately growing on me now I've had it a couple days :)

Was bored. Found another seven after I took the picture, but I couldn't be bothered putting them all out again. And I know I've misplaced at least four. Eh. Do love the random mix of quality

  9. Been waiting on this since October (well done parcelfarce) and now it's here, I'm stupidly underwhelmed. It's an alright knife, don't get me wrong, but I'm not loving it.

[edit] Tis growing on me, think I just need to get used to how light it is.

  10. But if you don't have one already you should definatly check out the Spyderco UK Penknife in the above pic, or you could give Fällknivens U1 a go.

    Link

I've tried, but I really can't make myself like the Spyderco. The shape of the blade annoys me for some reason. Do like the look of the U1, would you say they're worth the money?
