  1. Gadge, i still love that photo. Very accurate to early second gulf war and afghanistan.
  2. I'm sure the ring is too big on the flash eliminator - but can be turned down. I've seen SA80 bayonets fixed on some airsoft replicas though - must be the HFC springer. How does the BFA attach to the STAR rifle then?
  3. I really love that LSW..... I'd have one myself, but STAR priced them well out of my league, sadly. I'll see what these ARMY SA80s are like, then hopefully own my first British replica.
  4. The best way to find out the medical side of things is to just walk into the careers office and ask. I got the answer "sorry i can't tell you, i'm not qualified" etc for years at recruitment stands, untill i just went and asked in the office. No forces for me - not with a deaf ear. Just keeping going untill you get the answer. Saw this and thought of you Dazjw: http://www.genuinearmysurplus.co.uk/pages/...ebbing/rowid=41 Calico - brilliant kit there mate. I take it that you and your mate are both regs then?
  5. One of the pouches you have is a "trials version" - the one with the press studs, rather than the "spanish fly" fastener. The NBC pouch is a 58 one and hence doesn't have the strap for fastening it over the shoulder/round the waist. As for webbing pouches.... http://www.strikeforcesupplies.co.uk/stock.php?page=webbing Ebay is probably still your best bet.
  6. I remember there being a discussion about ACOGs in one of the brit kit discussion threads, so i thought i'd throw this picture in for good measure:
  7. I must admit i wear my chest rig low. I asked one of the marshalls at my local site (ex royal marine) to help me adjust it and he said that they sit "just above the belt." I'm pretty sure its a marine thing, a i've seen it done often by them, whereas other regiments wear them higher.
  8. I love it mate - the look i'll hopefully be going for soon. Is that a PASGT NVG mount?

  10. Cheers mate, i've looked all over for that info. It used to be on flecktarn, im sure of it... Btw that picture a few pages back of the sas smock with dessie helmet etc - love it mate. Brilliant for early GW2. I've still not found an SA80 that really does it for me yet. I've got hopes pinned on the army code one.
  11. Has anyone got a full list of sizes for Mk6s please?
  12. That explains things then. Typical! One of the ops vests i used to have had the clips, but they were of a different size to the daysack clips. A few posts i read on another forum pointed to them being used as hydration bladder clips. As for the cutting down of bush hats - pictures of squaddies in the jungle tend to have the full brim, as do first gulf war and early GW2 pictures. However "ally" has crept in over the past few years and a lot get cut down or folded forwards from the looks of it.
  13. What make is the rifle mate? Warrior, maruzen, tanaka?
  14. To be pedantic, they're for a hydration bladder pouch, apparently. I love that last picture - '203 and an L96 (close as damn it)
  15. Other things that have got me thinking recently - isn't the law on air rifles changing recently, banning online sales? And blank firers - i was under the impression they had an age 17 limit on them?
  16. Nice - how much was the SUSAT?
  17. As far as i know, moderators are suggested by the existing moderating team and then given the yes/no by Arnie. From what i've seen they're usually selected on what is needed time zone wise. For example, we went through a stage of spamming at silly times in the morning, which showed that we needed more American mods and so Arnie appointed a few more. It's also based on how well the individual follows the rules etc, rather than a stupidly big post count. As for the IP address, could you post questions for him? Rather that than let him use your account as people have used that excuse in the
