  1. All airsoft projects and purchases on hold - time to upgrade my computer.

      bladerunner168

Still running an i7-950, 6GB RAM and 2x ATI 5870's - too poor to upgrade.

bladerunner, I think you are confusing being poor with spending all your money on sweet airsoft guns ha ha.

Doc, that's pretty much the config I'm aiming at. Just with a different video card.

Bladerunner - oh, certainly you can put two more gigabytes of RAM in that thing.

  2. Hmmm, do I want to take a drill to a Denix sawn-off shotgun replica? and if I do, how illegal will it be? And, of course, will it accept Goblin airsoft/paintball shells anyway?

    1. renegadecow

      renegadecow

AFAIK the Denix models are non firing replicas, not even pfc's so making it to fire bbs shouldn't be illegal.

    2. PureSilver

      PureSilver

I'm with RC on this one. It's not a deactivated firearm so modifying it to fire BBs shouldn't be legally problematic.

Well, it's because a Denix sawn-off goes for just under eighty quid over here, as compared to over $250 (and shipping from HK) for a Wa Shan one. All I need to do is drilling through the faux firing pins to make them work and adjusting hammer springs so they don't *fruitcage* up the Goblin shells (which, IIRC, need just a gentle push).

  3. I finally got my tommygun. Cue scat singing and trumpet/sax solos. And get me a fedora!

But I had to borrow that hat. I don't wear hats everyday.

    2. faramon

Next time demand the hat as part payment :P

    3. Mike_West

      Mike_West

I could buy one for 12 quid, but since I don't wear them anyway, I considered it an unnecessary expense.

    HFC M10

From the album: Mike West's Toybox

A HFC S&W M10, for those times when I just need a fairly modern (and that's covering a period from the Roaring Twenties to now and maybe even into the future) revolver.
  5. Actionhobbies, being the bunch of lazy berks they are, refuse to send the Tommygun over. However, as the price difference turned out to be only twenty quid, I'll just source it domestically. Free next-day shipping is a plus.

  6. Okay Actionhobbies, finish up your morning tea and tell me if you can fling a Tommygun to Middle-Eastern Europe, where no VCRA or other silly bull *suitcase* like that exists...

  7. Every airsofter and his dog has guns that are modern, military, tactical, etc., etc. The problem starts when you need something… different. “Futuristic” is not a problem: G36, P90, MP7, USP, Tavor, you’re set. #The Ugly Stick works too (after all, for SeaQuest, the original Total Recall and Starship Troopers it did). But when you need post-nuke, steampunk, Wild West or just the Roaring Twenties, you’ve got a problem. My airsoft wishlist is a mile long. And some of the stuff is going to serve as a base for conversions anyway (for example, a Skorpion AEP turned into a StA-18 pistol from Killzon
  8. So I just bought a RPD foregrip, maybe I'll buy an AK105 and turn it into a Chinese Assault Rifle from Fallout 3.

Not really much to do, I'll just put an AK74 flashhider and an AK47 magazine on it, mod that foregrip to actually allow aiming and make the stock out of copper tubing.

I think this is a good idea and agree unconditionally ;)

  9. Just shelled out 20 quid on four dummy M67 grenades. Can't be Rolento without grenades.

    1. FireKnife

      FireKnife

That ain't too bad, depends on the quality though too. :P

Wooden body, painted OD, fuses taken from training models (still painted blue). Probably due to some dumb-*albatross* local regulation I don't know.

  10. The M10 is finally out of HK. The things I do for photoshoots, jeez...

    1. FireKnife

      FireKnife

Something for the ladies? Next you will be keeping Drambuie in the house :P

    2. Mike_West

      Mike_West

What the hell is a Drambuie?

That and I'm partial to Southern Comfort anyway.

    3. FireKnife

      FireKnife

Have a look, it is a joke from a Brit 'comedy' called Bottom, it is just random *suitcase* :P

  11. Pretty neat, although I'll never understand the AFG.
  12. Chinese airsoft has bad track record when it comes to announcing new products. I'm surprised the shops even bother with preorders for that stuff, as it usually comes years late.
  13. I checked: a Dan Wesson cartridge is a little smaller than a .38Spl round. A .38Spl round fits in a Dan Wesson speedloader without problems. Not sure how the tolerances in RS speedloaders are.
  14. Hmmm, if the HK3P is TM compatible, maybe you can get a sturdier replacement somewhere. It would mean giving up the threads for silencer adapter, though.
  15. Hmh, how long until the Chinese start making airsoft versions of Polish real-steel prototypes?

  16. Airsofting is fun. Even if you run out of batteries, green gas and BBs, you can still walt around posing for photos (and remember, mud on your Weesatch makes the photos grittier and more "real"!). Sometimes even folks who don't airsoft want to walt around with your guns. For example, there's a local photography hobby group consisting of photographers, models and make-up artists, who organize weekly themed photoshoots - for example "Zombie Apocalypse", "Carnivale", "Weddings", "Alice in Wonderland", "The Witcher", "Shadowrun", etc. Considering I'm a Shadowrun fan, when I heard about the photos
  17. Thanks for the warning. I had problems fitting my 5KU hammer, the mounting pin hole was much too small and I didn't have proper tools back then (had to use a round file). I'm eyeing the Davidson hammers from RSOV, they're $40 a pop, but I think they're made well enough to warrant this kind of price (Davidson also makes loads of other custom 1911/HiCapa parts). Also, I have a dremel now.
  18. My silver Army MEU is still good. At first, the hop-up arm was bent too much, causing the BBs to curve right a lot, but I rectified that. I competed against KWA Glocks in an IPSC event and ended 15th out of 35 participants, more due to me than the gun.Customizations were pretty much only aesthetic - Hogue monogrips, new trigger, guide rod and barrel bushing, KA blue springs that made the action a little snappier. Maybe I'll get myself a new hammer if funds allow.

    PDK 12 4

The craftsmanship's good, but gun itself is ugly as *fruitcake*.
  20. I think the problem has been correctly assessed and solved.
  21. *fruitcage* you, you *albatross* *bramston pickle*.
  22. So, the language filter is going berserk, corrupting such words as "assault", "Cl*albatross*ic", "pass" and others. Can someone fix this? It's ridiculous. Thank you. Further examples:
  23. Aaaaanyone wants a slightly used Muzzelite 10/22 stock? Only 120 GBP shipped, or send me a Hogue OM stock for 10/22 with a bull barrel. That swap's gonna work too.

  24. I fitted a KJW M4 509mm barrel into it, still getting insane FPS (blew a hole through the bottom of a beer can easily).
  25. Mike_West

    The Ugly Stick

Took me an hour with files, sandpaper and craft knife. It fits, it works, but there's a huge gap on top of the barrel. And it seems I need a double ring M16 carry handle mount to lower the scope because now it sits absurdly high. Section 5? Dunno, didn't lay my hands on a chrony yet. Maybe I'll take it to a skirmish site tomorrow.
