  1. One question how do I fit the CASV system on the gun? (I don't have it I was just wondering)

    Robinio,

The CASV attaches at two points. First, the top section latches onto the delta ring assembly much like the standard hand-guards do. Second, the long top rail portion of it attaches to the picatinny rail on the top of your gun's receiver. Once that is all attached, the bottom section of the CASV swings up and locks into place with the top part.

Here is an installation guide from VLTOR.

  2. It has been known for a while that the ICS delta ring assembly is incompatible with lots of aftermarket accessories. The easy solution is buying a replacement CA or D-Boys delta ring, rethreading the ICS reciever with this product and slapping the new delta ring in place.

Not really a huge deal, you may not even need the rethreading tool. I didn't. But it is a worthwhile modification to do.

  3. EBB now carries an AUSCAM replica. I can't speak on it authenticity, but it looks like proper AUSCAM.

Also, these folks sell an AUSCAM uniform set. I haven't been able to find out where they are located, but they have a U.S. phone number... but they also have an Aussie and UK number too.

  4. HPC would probably fit great. I'm 5'6" 135 and the thing fits me and could be sinched down even tighter.

While each side of the cummerbund is approx 18" it can be shortened by moving the attachment straps closer to the center of the back plate carrier.

  5. I was always taught that when using a redi-mag you grasp both the used mag and the "readied" mag, eject the used magazine while holding onto it and unslot the "readied" mag from the redimag system simultaneously, move your hand slightly to the right and insert the "readied" magazine into the weapon. In this situation the used magazine is never dropped, but kept on hand until after the reload is complete. Once the weapon is ready to be fired and the used magazine is then dumped.

I never had a problem with reloading as such with my old redi-mag system. I found that it was faster than fishing a magazine from a pouch. The drawback was the weight of the system.

edit: travis? costas beard? I'm not in the know...

  6. It's called the "REDI-MOD". For anyone interested in it, keep in mind that AEG mags are shorter (at the top) and thicker overall compared to RS AR mags. As such, you may encounter problems such as: (1) AEG mag being too thick, and (2) you can see the top of the AEG mag through the open sides of the REDI-MOD. May not end up being a problem at all... it's just kinda of expensive to find out.

From what I understand the Redi-Mod is just a lighter weight solution to the typical redi-mag. I've been ogling the redi-mod for awhile now, but simply cannot justify the cost for something that might not even work for AEG magazines.

I know I'll garner sneers for saying this, but I'd like someone to "clone" it. Either an mainstream company or someone in China.

edit: Tangentially, it would be pretty simple to dremel(?) / cut down a redi-mag to reduce the extra weight.

This post is so full of win that no other post will ever match it.

Everyone should just stop posting now so that this thread can be stickied with this glorious conclusion.

  8. Ahh... I spoke a wee bit too soon about the internal parts. The one part I was worried about failing has failed in under 500 rounds. Had the gun less than 6 hours and shot less than 500 rounds through it on green gas and 134a gas only and the bolt stop has broken...

The gun now fires once and the bolt locks back and the only way to get the bolt to go forward again is to take down the upper receiver to dislodge the bolt from the bolt stop.

So Airsoft Buddy, think you could send me a replacement bolt stop since I seem to have gotten a faulty one?

I honestly can't say I am surprised. Airsoft companies never put forth the time needed to effectively test a product before it hits the market. We've already seen this so amply demonstrated by the WA M4 and now it looks like the WE M4 is following suit.

Honestly, no prototype should be sent forth into final production until at least 20,000 (and that is conservative, I'd favor 100,000) rounds have been put through it, much less 500.

The WE M4 looks awesome, and I look forward to being an owner some day (crosses fingers), but in my decade plus of paintball play I've never encountered manufacturers as careless as those associated with airsoft.

Hopefully Airsoft Buddy will follow through with the top notch customer service he/it has been promising.

  9. I will, like everyone else, submit my own query on the MOE handguards...

Where, when will these be available? Do they fit a battery? Will they make me the leetest player on the field (I'm pretty sure we all know the answer to that)?

  10. The least that could be done would be to select someone knowledgeable about a particular load and have that individual write up what would be appropriate for that impression. For example, Titleist (or Justin.Kovacs) could be asked to do a brief write up of what gear constitutes a proper 75th Ranger Regiment from Iraq during such and such a period. Then that post could be stickied at the top of the specific loadout thread (in this cash the "Modern Ranger loadout" thread) for all to see. A few references photographs could be included.

The same thing could be done for the Navy SEAL thread (perhaps by LORD SEX, or, again, Titleist), the Marines thread (perhaps by MasakariJoe), etc.

In terms of the Modern Ranger Thread I've linked two examples below that could simply be "edit-pasted" right into a sticky, no fuss needed.

    and

here (Needs a label to designate time period).

  12. Those are the new KA MID caps that have an M4 top but the rest of the magazine is AK like. Completley pointless if you ask me but the look is A++. I thought about tryin one of them in my new M4 just to see what it would look like.

It really does complete the look of the whole weapon.

Those magazines are totally BA. Now to find somewhere that actually sells them... :nosleep:
